Victor in English doesn't get modified according to gender like it would in Latin, so it's perfectly safe to say "the legion is a victor forever" although it would sound better to say " The legion, eternal and victorious"

The connected Roman Empire allowed it to spread. Not to mention, Rome was basically the first christian nation in the entire world.
