I can’t believe how much worse this game looks on PS3. The framerate constantly dips into the teens, dialogue is out of sync very often, and it never looks _this_ clear. I’m hoping they’ll remaster the trilogy for us console peasants, especially PS3 owners that got shafted by half-assed ports.
Tali: "I never brought active geth aboard. I only sent parts and pieces." Shepard: "You sent geth materials back to the Migrant Fleet??? Are you insane? Who would do that?"
@@someotherdude6626 no love geth was correct. Legion gives best hugs and will make you a flowercrown as you giggle away together, lovingly polishing his armor.
Pushing a merc off a building, yes messed up; however, this is way more cold and shitty of Shepard to bring Legion, an active geth, to the Quarians like it won't be an issue for them.
Bringing legion to this mission should result in either complete chaos, or completely necessary for peace between the geth and quarians. I mean, legion should either amaze them and talk to them, or absolutely freak them out beyond comprehension. Or Tali should absolutely refuse to allow you to bring him
There were a lot of story elements that could work here. Legion actually communicating voluntarily with Quarians. Legion informing them of the Geth Heretics, and how they differ from current Geth. Legion revealing how most Geth do not want a war with the Quarians. There’s a lot of other options with Legion simply being there, but that’d be a lot of work for something many people would miss by not bringing him.
Despite how Legion acted when he walks in, we all remember and know that it was the Geth that kicked them off their home world. So, of course the quarians are showing signs of hostility towards the Geth.
3:24 Admiral Koris: Security! A geth is present in the courtroom! Does Tali'Zorah think to affect this hearing with threats? I love how Legion start frantically looking around. "Geth?? What geth?? We do not see a... oh."
It’s more that they get taken, once taken a second countdown starts to how many missions you can do after you rush to do the relay option is chosen (if I recall correctly) but I agree that hidden countdown is shit, bright side is if you do everyone else’s then get the iff and legion you get to do his loyalty immediately without issue
You can bring Legion to this mission and still save your entire crew from the Collectors. I’ve tested it multiple times and after you get the Reaper IFF you have time to complete 2 loyalty missions if you have 2 loyalty missions left. Most people assume you have to do everyones before and always leave just Legion’s loyalty mission but I guarantee if you just hold off on Tali’s trial until after the Reaper IFF you can do that one and Legions without your crew dying. But no more than 2.
But honestly, I once made a me2 playthrough where I would bring Legion on every single mission and there's just so much dialogue that I would never be able to hear without cheating Legion into my squad
Exactly I love how he was kinda an antagonistic figure in ME2 but by the time you get to the Quarian Arc in 3 you realize he's you're best Quarian Ally (Well second best can't leave out tali)
@@notaseal7864 You shoulda figured that out already in ME2, from the conversation with him shown here in this video. I remember being delighted with how ME2 threw that curveball. The preliminary trial hearing had me hating his guts, only to realize in the convo aside with him afterward that my Shepard _completely agreed_ with the dude.
aww miss this game a lot. And yes, bringing Legion to Tali's trial makes it more fun for dialogue with the Quarians. The best part is when they see him again. But good choice bringing him and now, I hope they remaster this series.
Tali: I Would never bring active geth aboard, I only sent parts and pieces Shepard: *Looks to Legion* Tali: You're the one that insisted on bringing legion, Not me.
Admiral Koris is such a great character. At the start of the trail i hated him for the way he spoke to Tali. Then you speak to him again and realize that he actually cares about her and he's the only one that recognizes the mistakes his people made with the Geth and he's against a stupid war which the Quarians are likely to lose badly
I love how Legion openly says it depends on the Quarians. They hold no ill will toward their creators beyond the fact they might try and destroy them all again. If peace is the preferable option for the creators they are all for it, which means consensus of the Geth is already "if they stop trying to kill us we are all for peace." The benefit of them being entities of math and logic: no emotions to cloud them from the best decisions.
@@angelangelis8362 Considering those with no emotions operate solely on sound reasoning unlike those with emotions whose emotions prevent them from thinking clearly, I wonder if they are clearly better in living together but as emotional beings, we are just too positively biased towards our own functioning unwilling to even seriously consider the possibility that we are lesser than them, due to our egos.
Bringing Legion along to Tali's mission made Koris vas QWIB-QWIB a 1000% better character, it transforms him from a cowardly and snooty dude into a sympathetic person who truly wants to accept the geth as their own people
@@Jampolo_OG The quarians would be amazed and jump to quick agreement over the fact that this guy from an ancient old species actually fully shares their sentiment over their hatred of the geth than be amazed at seeing an actual Prothean onboard. But they’ll probably get some uncomfortable feelings over his knowledge of their primitive past and constant call-out of their mistakes XD.
I do remember she was in the episode law and order SVU and bones as well, sadly she ever came out for one episode of law and order and bones and that's it, but she is the best actress so I'll let her slide.
@@anthony8241 Must be weird to be her; years of bit parts and she finally gets really noticed in an ensemble scifi cast in her..what? 50's? Unusual for a female actress.
Its not you. They were under time pressure for ME2 but nothing like the super-crunch that was ME3. So ME3 has an extreme lack of polish in stuff like that, and it becomes more obvious the later into ME3 you go. See: heads spinning more than 180˚ to engage in dialogue etc.
I think the hardest choice if you dint talk to the different admirals is either proof talis innocent or if she is guilty. You want her to be innocent and you have proof but she begs you not to tell them because her father would look bad and she doesn't want that. So either make her happy and she is ban from the ship or make her sad and She can still come to the ship
@@Xelief @Calvin Coates He said "if you didn't talk to the admiral". Perhaps these parangon/renegade check are only available if Shepard is aware of the political mess of this trial. It's just a guess, I always talk to everybody.
0:40 : _ I don't think it's a good Idea to bring a geth..... _ tali ! You are accused of bringing active geth in this ship.... _ .......well....i said it was a Bad Idea.....Shepard is to blame _ true !!!! ( Kill Shepard and légion) MISSION FAILURE
What a coincidence. I just finished this game three days ago and now I'm playing Mass Effect 3, I just finished the "Priority: Geth Dreadnought" mission a few hours ago. Thanks for uploading this, I wanted to see what the Quarians would do if Legion was brought to their ship, but I did this mission way before I recruited Legion.
I always do this by saving Tali's mission for right after the reaper corpse, with legion's next, there's just enough time to still do the Tali Romance using the time from just after her mission, just after legion's mission, and just after the Normandy is invaded to do all her dialogue.
Everyone is talking about how ironic it is to bring Legion to a trial where Tali is accused of sending active Geth to the Fleet, but keep in mind she did not know what the charges were beforehand.
As much as I hate the gameplay changes to mass effect 2, And completely despise the pathetic final boss, It has an amazing story with fantastic character elements. I can't wait to play it again.
@3:25 this part made no sense to me. Not only is a man who wants peace with the geth accusing the appearance of geth as a threat; everyone there is acting like they didn't see Legion until right then and there.
@@caninelupus8369 I posted this comment before watching another video that explains how I can do this without resulting in delaying the rescue of the SR2 crew. When I saw this, I figured that the only way to ensure that Legion got to join Tali on her loyalty mission, I would have to run through an extra mission, which would go against the whole 'Go right away to save the crew' count. Up until this point, I did every single side quest and loyalty mission before acquiring legion, so the install for the IFF only took one mission (which I used to complete Legion's loyalty mission) before the Collectors showed up to steal the crew. Again, figuring that in order to bring Legion to Tali's loyalty mission, I figured that I would have to pick which of the two's loyalty mission to complete before the IFF was completed, then hold off on rescuing the crew while completing the other one.
There's a hidden mechanism about how many missions you can do after you triggered reaper IFF quest. I think it's depended on how many loyalty and reruit quests you have on your hand. I usually leaves Tali and Legion's loyalty quest after reaper IFF and when I finish both, collectors would rush normandy.
I remember being so conflicted as a kid when the guy I assumed was an asshole was the one who wanted to make peace with the Geth. Especially cuz I was a big fan of Tali, I was super upset that she wasn't open to peace with the Geth!
I fucking love how unintentionally progressive this sequence is and why I loved playing/seeing it. Imagine being at the first contact of Legion and the final advancement of networked Geth. Capable of speech and sapience. But nooooo this a Quarian Battle Fleet for **checks notes** Tali’s loyalty mission. In which she is accused of bringing active Geth on board. And one of the few missions (I believe) you can explicitly fuck up on and not get loyalty for the Final Mission. Then Imagine, in this pretext, where you bring Legion and Tali onboard, for her trial, just to send the point as Commander Shepard “This stupid petty bullshit is stupid, and you are stupid for bringing my crew into this.” and just **fucking getting away with it** Of course, she did not bring active Geth on board, but her father and a few outliers put them back together then it accidentally gets out of control. And in the final fucking moments of this mission, where all the eyes of the Quarian people at you, Tali and Legion to the side, you get the choice. “Is there any extra evidence you would like to submit?” So if you choose to submit the holographic video data, you can fuck up Tali’s loyalty mission, but it would clean up her name. Or if you withhold it, you can see her get tried as ‘Guilty’ and banished from the fleet. Think, Tali would rather take blame of her dead Fathers admittedly somewhat reckless, but justified Geth assembly/retinkering and be expelled **from the fucking fleet** just to go on a death mission to this unknown red gate fork that no ship has ever returned from (fun!). Ironically, Legion is most confused by this and he ngl, he is a total bro, like over 1000 bros. Seriously, it is the Quarians who are at the fault of the start of the Geth Uprising and even roaming the stars, their fear and hubris with the Geth at full display. He and Tali later getting into it seems so difficult since really, it is just bad looks for both their peoples. In Mass Effect 3, it is a tragedy if Legion dies, but in a calamity when Tali does. So moral of the story, be **there** to see the Messiahic and Master Bro Legion when he was there at Tali’s exile trial. And you got yourself a winning 3-color cupcake baby! Both the Geth and Quarians fighting side by side, and I like to think it all began because you brought the one that talks like a speak-n-spell was there at the trial and later vindicated innocent of Tali Zorah Vas Normandy!
Being able to bring Legion to this is *exactly* how you craft a role-playing game. You let players do the fucking stupidest thing possible and see how they worm out of it. The end result of saving people might be the same, but the interactions you get along the way are pure gold.
The reason Legion is treated indifferently here is because most Quarian civilians actually think it was their own fault in how they treated the geth after their uprising and they only sided with the admirals out of fear as the ones who willing cooperated with the Geth were killed.
And if console gaming weren't the cancer that it is, we could all have enjoyed this content not being locked behind late-game consequences. Consoles are the cancer that kills good games.
