I picked one of these up a few weeks ago. So far it seems to be a decent knife. Haven’t had the chance to put it through its paces yet, but what I have used it for it has done well. For the price you can’t beat it. My carry knife today was my Becker BK18 Harpoon. Love fixed blade knives.
I love mine! Had it almost a month now. I used Jaspers to get the coating off. It came right off. Did like you just mentioned with the sheath. Put a big d-ring on that plastic clip and sewed up a loop from an old seat belt. Perfect dangler! Enjoy! I sure enjoy mine!
Hello, I'm your 41st Thumbs up. Good for you to be hiking to stay active, stronger and healthy. I'm New here watching and joining your RU-vid Channel/family. Today I am carrying a Hultasfors hvk gh, wich makes your "budget blade" look high end 🤣. Looks like a very good knife. Nothing wrong with D2. Awesome video Gruggs.
Swiss tech's been bringing some decent cheap tools to the table glad to see Walmart getting some full tang fixed offerings besides Buck's. They even have a couple decent folders. Well done sir
Hey man, I'm waiting for your review of Swiss Tech Haltbar, I'm in love with this knife since I saw it. Unfortunately I live in Europe and we don't have Walmarts :( Cheers and respect for your work!
I like it ! soon as my local Wally has it im picking one up. also im with you , I don't like that traction coating on blades, but I got a can of Jasco and it'll only take 30 minutes for that stuff to take it off.
Hey man, today I’m carrying my Finn wolf and surge on my person and my DPS bush knife in my day pack. Some “aircraft remover” would take that coating off. I used it to get the powder coat off my OKC rbs-6
I found out that i like straight knifes. I like pretty much everything about this knife except 2 things. First you can see it on the video as well the RED LINERS are flush with the tang of the knife but the micarta scales are about 1/16-1/8” smaller and the red liners dig into your hand. I know you can get scales made up for it but with that cost you have other options. Second i really dont like that the back of the handle is smaller rather than same as the front of the handle. Being smaller makes it harder to hold when swinging to chop wood. Not a fan of the hammer pummel too but thats minor. Ofherwise everything else about this knife is spot on for my liking. Looks amazimng, great blade shape and width. Looks better and more ergonomic for me personally than a ESEE 6 with 3D handles.
@@LegionTacticoolCutlery I’m looking forward to it, love your coverage on all sorts of price ranges, specially these budget “beater” knives as I like putting it, imma start out with either this one, the odenwolf W-Scandi in the updated D2 version, or the Lynxgear Bushcraft, and work up from there, so far your reviews have been pretty consistent and are really pulling me deeper into the knife world
Dave when you get to NY and done with the Statue of Liberty tour, check out this restaurant in a very nice area. By the water. Very nice lil spot. Also a mall you can visit. Let me know if you want some more suggestions. pjclarkes.com/location/on-the-hudson/
@@LegionTacticoolCutlery hey Gruggs, thanks for the info 👍🏻. My girlfriend is planning this. I will definitely be in touch with you. It's our first time to the Big Apple.👍🏻
