Legitimacy in Global Politics explained 

Legitimacy in global politics refers to the ability for actors to have their actions seen as acceptable by others. Here, we'll explain the different sources of legitimacy. We'll look at the legitimacy of states themselves, and how that's drawn from their governments and support of the people. We will also look at the legitimacy of state action in global affairs, and how that's often drawn from different parts of global governance institutions.
