Although I'm not a Ghostbusters fan, I can appreciate the insane level of detail and clever functions built into this set. I only wish Technic sets had as much functionality...
Maybe a bit of poliwash will clean up that window! I do it with my watches, some have plastic crystals and you can remove any tiny scratch with such a solution.
I think that window is made like it looks like. Because in the movie it is old and dirty, so that why this kit also comes with the rust stickers. Imo it looks better if you add the rust stickers and the windows aren’t clean. I guess lego could’ve provided a dirty window for the “old look” and a clean window for people that don’t want to use the “old look”.
Just finished the build last night, and I have to say, next to the Bond Aston Martin, this is the next most playable (feature-wise) set I own. It was a great build and probably the most creative in the reuse of existing pieces to accomplish really great looks (such as the rear brake lights like described in the video). Excellent set! (Edit - I also left the rust stickers off as I thinks it looks way better clean!)
They really nailed it. Mike is a genius. With all Lego constraints in mind, this is about perfect. Hidden gunner seat button is very clever. On another note, like that end credit tune. What’s the title?
Sure I my self is a ''spokesman'' for pristine looking things, but i think the rust really added stuff to this car and made it look way less flat when you're a couple of meters away from it. Anyway why didn't you add the Cadilac logo though? And you put grey studs instead of the clear in the barrellights?
There’s an extra tile with a StayPuft Marshmallow sticker on it. I can’t, for the life of Gozer the Gozerian, figure out where it goes. Does anyone know?
I have this one too every day struggle was missing a piece now got that piece turned up it a fun build aswell as very frustrating these vids make it look super easy and I'd just like to say personally it's not easy at all
I got this set early last year, and I had so much fun building it. At more than 2000 pieces it certainly wasn’t a quick build! It took me about 2 weeks to finish it, building for an hour or two each day. I was amazed by how the build came together, and how cleverly the process was all designed. Having been a fan of ghostbusters since I was about 6 years old (according to my mum, I used to run round outside with a vaccum cleaner hose and attachment tied onto a cardboard box on my back pretending I was Peter Venkman! 😂) so building this lego set had a mega dose of nostalgia to me.

@@paulwarren8769 ah ok thank you! The set was built during several months at multiple locations, so apparently those slopes fell off. I remember seeing one on the floor but could not find the source, now I know :)

This car looks great shame about the screen is there a protection film on it ? I have found this on many items in the past if not a small polishing wheel might remove the mudge makes, If I buy this Iand found the screen the same I would try everything to clean the screen as appart from this it looks Epic (a thought could the screen be on purpose to show age to the car ?)
all my pieces were perfect, but this one part at 7:35 ..on the dashboard, the grey piece with the radio looking thing and with 2 orange yellow/lights was the same part as the one bellow 6:06 under the tape recording :/
I don't like the real car and I am not a fan of the movie. But this set ist just too good not to buy it! I appreciate your attention to building techniques used. Great review!
I know this is an old post, but I'm stumped as well by the two sides of the rear axle don't move together once the gear is added (or at all)...did you figure out why? I'm thinking about super gluing the center pieces together. Great video as always.
Its a great model, very much liked the build, and finished model looks great, also didn't include the rust stickers. I liked the side wing with the red lights, looks very good
I just finished this build. It's a great build. And I did the same as RacingBrick did, i did not apply the rust stickers. And I LOVE the hidden features on the car.
The Lego ideas set of this is a way better set. This set is way too advanced and takes away from the true look of the ecto 1 in my opinion. Get the ideas set version and compare
@@RacingBrick sometimes less is more. It's still a great look just because it doesn't have as many moving parts doesn't mean its not as good a set as this one. Like I said it's only my opinion and it looks great sitting on display in my office.
@@sethjohnson940 the Ideas set is nice but I don't think there's a point to compare the two. I understand that you like that one but it is like comparing a Speed Champions car with the 1:8 Technic Sián, completely different league.
