The LEGO Group today unveils a set that is sure to reach new heights - the LEGO® Concorde Set. Arguably one of the most iconic and famous aircrafts in history, the Concorde could cruise twice as fast as the speed of sound. An engineering masterpiece, the Concorde now comes in LEGO brick form. Built in the 1960s as part of a joint venture between the United Kingdom and France, the Concorde was the first supersonic passenger carrying commercial aircraft. This 2083-piece set is an accurate scale model of the airplane, that can be showcased in the home using the display stand, allowing the possibility to pose the brick-plane either in flight mode or tilted mode for take-off and landing.
The set is also rich in detail, with a removable roof to show off the opulent cabin interior, landing gear, as well as the nose and visor tilts.

This is a bittersweet set for me. It's quite literally the perfect microscale model, since I grew up reading about Concorde in a copy of The World Book Encyclopedia, but it's also a reminder that the present we are living in isn't the future we were promised.

Great and fun video! My impressions of Concorde so far are quite positive. Apart from the size and thus space requirement, what I dread most is that after a few years the white will start to show discoloration 😔

@matthewbates1963 Won't help. My Discovery 10283 never saw the light of day, but the bricks and cargo bay dors started yellowing.

@matthewbates1963 like half a year, I bought my like a week after it came out, and for like 5-6 months, the bricks were white, but then the yellowing kicked in.

It looks stunning from a distance but I'm interested to see what the nose section will look like up close in terms of how it matches the real plane. Also yeah, I do find some of the 'lifestyle' photos a little grating - they can feel a little elitist in terms of their backgrounds.

Considering the round trip ticket on Concorde was $12,000 U.S. dollars, these photos speak to those in the same earning bracket as the people who flew in it. You could fly from New York to Paris for lunch and be back home that same night. The shortest flight took 2.5 hours. As the creator of this video so playfully put it, LEGO isn’t marketing to people like himself: those who have a Kallax (IKEA) set of cubbies, with a series of LEGO sets in the squares.

This Concorde set is the one I've had my eye on for '23 and will be pre-ordering and building for display once assembled. at over a meter long and $200 - this definitely has bang for your buck with value.

It’s funny how LEGO have only added the Airbus name to the box and not BAE. Both are successors to the original companies which designed the Concorde. Presumably it’s because BAE are primarily an arms and military manufacturer?

I was never rich enough to go on Concorde, but travelled a lot at that time. All the ordinary planes would all manoeuvre at odd angles on the taxiway at airports so everyone, including pilots, could get the best view of it taking off

Your comments regarding the type of people who would buy this set is spot on. I'm an aeroplane enthusiast and appreciate Legos Technic and only ever purchased and displayed 2 around my house. But when I saw the Lego oncorde and how fine it looked. I immediately went to the store and purchased it!!! You can not ignore this legendary aircraft.

I feel attacked lol. I have precisely one Lego set on display: this one. I am of a certain age (62) so I remember when Concorde flew over the Atlantic, carrying celebrities, royalty, CEOs and a few others, who could afford to fly from New York to London or Paris for lunch and fly back later that night, for around $12,000. I appreciate your sense of humor regarding IKEA’s Kallax shelving cubbies, even as yours are in plain sight 😁

Hard to compare, BigPlanes' made theirs to be compatible with minifigs, thus much bigger and therefore can cram more details and functions to the plane than 10318.

I flew the BA Concorde way back in 1982 from Washington Dulles airport to London Heathrow. I will get it but not build it like the other Legos that just sit in the box. One being the Eiffel Tower that just sits in the closet..

As an adult fan of Lego I have become frustrated that they seem unwilling to mould new parts for these iconic sets they now produce.t hey have created a myriad of custom parts for other types of Lego, but try to recreate the nose and tail shapes using standard cone and slope type bricks which look completely wrong. If they would do what Cobi do, by producing custom parts for difficult to model aspects of a set I would be much more willing to part with the high price they charge. It also annoys me that they leave studs exposed, which compromises the sleek streamline look of the model. The Cobi Concorde looks much better, although is much smaller. The working undercarriage does seem like a cool feature though.

A cool plane, and a cool set. Will I get it? No, since I don't have the space for it, and it doesn't fit with the other sets I'm getting / I have. I do have a limited budget and limited space, and this doesn't fit within that. But despite that I really love that they came with this, and I hope it does well.

The Concorde was actually a rather small plane. And the version by Lego looks more like an 8-Bit Version with a horrible front and end.

It's available on the 4th of September for members of the LEGO VIP loyalty scheme (which is free to sign up for) and then it's available for everyone to purchase on the 7th of September, so it's not a big wait if you don't want to sign up to the loyalty scheme. As for where to buy it, it'll definitely be available from the LEGO website (there's a link in the description), whether other retailers will get stock is unclear at the moment.

As a 18 year old, I find this set a must have one. Well, I ain't familiar with Concorde, but I am trying to find as much information as I can about it. I always wanted a Lego plane and this should be perfect. I wish I had the opportunity to fly in one :(
