LEGO 1950s Diner Detailed Review! Bricklink Designer Program Set 

Honestly, I think that the Diner would be kind of neat to include in the Amusement Park. Feels just that right blend of historically accurate and artificial to work in a Main Street USA environment.

The gas pump mini build would look great in the garage of your mansion as a display.

Use the car as a seat outside the restaurant as a place to take pictures. Like the sci-fi restaurant at Disney world

As I have eaten in dinners like that , it is fairly accurate . The car is slightly -- off scale ,-- sure they where huge and pink Caddies were a thing back then . They should have made the car a little smaller , but not by much . O-- the 2 ' leavers' being the back window were actually twin antennas . Some cars both were connected with a Y cable from the radio , while others had a fake antenna just to match the vibe of the car . Color accuracy of the colors for the whole build is just about spot on !! The dinners often had a glass entryway with a large door , so that is is correct . Speaking from experience !! Later , D. 

The car is fun for a display piece but far too out of scale for a city. Having been to many diners the interior actually is pretty spot on. I really like this set, even if it's a bit disjointed.

The diner sign, above the restaurant, looks to me like it's referencing the space theme that was so prevalent back then - the black circle and red pieces with the yellow lights looks like the "flying saucer" type alien spaceship that showed up in cheesy movies and TV shows. Love it!

I like the interior: floor, stools, bar--gives a good 50's vibe. The building itself is an oddly rounded shape. It makes me wonder if it's supposed to be a dinner inside a tram car. The comparative size of the car would seem to support this. Great video. Not a set I would want but neat to see.

The interior is so awesome. I do feel like the fries on top are not the right size. They either needed to be smaller or the burger bigger? But the burger build is so cute, so maybe the fries build smaller. Awesome build! They did an amazing job!

This reminds me of a diner near my hometown. It was called the Blue Moon Diner and they had a 1950s theme. Everyone wore buttondowns with bowties and the tables, chairs, even the plates were period accurate. They had this really good sandwich which was a grilled cheese dipped in corn dog batter and deep fried, all on a stick

It's indeed a nice diner! The details on roof are very neat, and the interior is nice even though it looks simple. I also liked the car, although I don't enjoy the 8-stud-wide(ish) design much, at least for something to be integrated to city - even knowing cars were usually bulky back then. It looks better along current Speed Champions.

Jordan, video request here - could you make a video about all the vehicles around the City? MOCs and kits please. I see loads of interesting vehicles dotted about and like the look of them but don't know what they are. Things like the big black car with the flames on the roof near the camp ground and the construction vehicles...

Great design and build. Like you said, that door just looks huge. I wonder if there’s a way to convert that into a double door just so they don’t look ridiculous when opening. Overall, it looks fantastic

For where my sister is doing college right now, they have a 1950s Diner right in the town, and we ate there last time we visited and it had some of the best food I had in a long time and it was also the cheapest meal of the entire trip which was also nice and it was filling can't wait to go back again in May when we have to move my sister out of her dorm for summer vacation.

because of the size of the car I think it would look awesome to transform the dinner into like a kind of mobile restaurant... it has kind of the shape of an airstream travel trailer ... it can then drive around the city and serve food

50's dinners are great I worked in the Philippines and in Makati there is the Filling Station it's amazing all the sign, cars and motor bike a great atmosphere and the food is amazing you should visit one.

Hi, instead of just making a car park on one plate, you could consider putting up a big flat screen and make it like a drive in movie theater next to the diner, adding to the theme of the area. Car park by day and screenings at night.

You should put it where the floating house is so it match the age of the old house so the base plate that is the parking lot the house would be just on top

Wow that diner is pretty awesome! The interior looks great! Not a fan of the lack of studs to pose mini figs. Nor the benches at the table. But these are minor flaws and easy to fix.

Love this set love how the car is speed champions size most amount of details maybe you could put the car with the speed champions and use the smaller 50’s style cars in your city and put them with your diner or at least near also the bowling alley would look awesome near the diner

I got the Mountain View Observatory and Winter Chalet. Both of them are really great!

That car (without roof) reminds me of some cartoon, but currently, I can only think Police Academy . For some reason I was thinking Top Cat, but just checked, not Top Cat, unless a later opening, used it or so. So, where will you put it? Near the beach? Add a bus stop.

I like the larger parking lot idea. You can put a bike rack. Then by the skate park you could put a little skate surf shop. The side nearest the beach could be used beach parking. Maybe the new beach van.

This set is perfect for where the farm is I think the farm is too small now for your layout when you get the bricksie building you could put the farm there

How have you not seen Grease? Diner doors were big in case you had to take out any large kitchen equipment or juke box which was huge back then.

insted of a parkinglot. u can make a drive in movie for cars. with the diner next to it. bet it will look nice with some cars on it.

I think the door would look more like a door if the handle was pointing out to the front instead of to the side.

Very awesome build but it's ironic that there was not enough focus on the kitchen itself considering it's a diner. No mini fridge, no sink, no fryers but only a stove and some of compartment. Some modifications could be done fs.

Unfortunately I agree with the other comments that the car is too big for the current the scale of the diner. Of course we're always looking for space but a fun drive-in movie theater would be amazing

The detail in lego products is boss

I would just make it as a normal 32x32 baseplate and maybe elevate the pink car as some type of artifact. I would NOT make the mills plate big enough just to accommodate the car. Another idea is to put the car in the mansion! A rich guy definitely would have a 1950s car!

Why don't you just make the parking spot parallel to the diner, instead of perpendicular? It looks like the car would fit that way instead.

one of sets designer wise im let down by for its price tag + size, like other bricklink designs are similair price i think and much bigger then this building wise and taller. Also would say modular diner is 100% better then this design and is about same cost or cheaper then this and pick that any day (as missed out on it and still need it).

I think it will be a sad day when Lego stops including a booklet. Kids building these sets should have a choice of a booklet or download. Not all kids have a tablet or computer. Not good in my opinion.
