LEGO 2K Drive: Too Good To Be Ruined 

I will probably get the game on a heavy sale, because it does look like a lot of fun. However, the end game grind will probably stop me from investing more time into it after I finish the career. Funny how tactics like this that are put into place to keep player engagement actually does the opposite. This needs to be fixed!

The fact that this game that I’ve heard almost nothing but praise for is being ruined by a company’s greed is very disappointing. I really hope LEGO steps in and fixes this game and make sure that LEGO 2K Goooal! doesn’t suffer from the same problem. Phenomenal work man.

It’s rather disappointing! This is probably the most unique racing game we’ve gotten in a while, at least from a major publisher.

This vid was a great watch, definitely worth the two months of wait. It's a shame that it got the reception it did with the MTX. I hope they remove that aspect of the game and improve the economy. The future of arcade racers may depend on this kind of things. Again, great vid man!

This game having a "E for everyone tag" is so misleading with all those microtransactions. This should be illegal.

Man I'll tell you. I never into LEGOs before but this game really intrigued me in such a pleasing way. It's SO MUCH refreshing considering the current state of arcade racers and Lego 2K Drive definitely is much more than a "fOrZa HorIzOn wItH mArIo KaRt" according to game journalists. Just for the concept of building your own vehicles with the tools and pieces the game gives you right away results can almost be *limitless* and I'm all in favor for that. The enviroments, Humor, Characters... it's all so charming and definitely stands out compared to other games we've been having in the last decade. But saddly I'll have to wait for a discount. Ain't no way I'm paying full price for a game with MTX. 2K always has been these pay up fuckers. It's such a shame this game so compelling is just an another victim of this bullshit. I 100% with you all throught. LEGO must put an end to this.

Honestly I used to play with legos too so I know exactly how you feel. I had my own Lego sets, tried my own stop motion videos, played the games, and I even made a custom long suv irl out of random bricks that I’m still proud of till this day. After seeing your video about this game I’m kinda interested in it now, and I’m wondering if I can recreate my suv in the game like how you did with your own creations. Sucks that for a Lego game it’s $60-70 plus tax with microtransitions included in it. I definitely don’t think it’s worth that much either unless if it was a flawless game. It is what it is but it still looks like a pretty fun game to me. And yeah this game will probably be forgotten by the community but as long as you’re having fun who cares honestly. Nonetheless Great Video Man!

This is an excellent video. I too was amazed when I heard of the game but upon seeing the price...and knowing how 2K works...I simply Tagged it and will wait for Black Friday. And it's sad because, as you mentioned, it looks so good and vould have made such a grand footprint in the racing landscape. If I'm Visual Concepts, I'm mad.

Hey! I liked Lego 2K Drive. It's actually an awesome game.

Quite the step-up in quality compared to your previous videos, but of course, not saying they were even remotely bad, because how else would I have stuck around this channel for two years? More people need to know about this game, and be willing to give it a chance, because I know I will. I hope you talk a little more about Unbound and GRID Legends, as I feel those games need to be talked about more, especially with Unbound's upcoming Vol. 3 update.

My theory is that the in-game economy makes A LOT more sense when there's a drive pass season. The devs very likely *planned* to have season 1 out either AT launch or within launch week, but had to delay it - it may contain LOADS of BrickBux itself, along with just new features/mechanics for aquiring BrickBux. Unfortunately, it had to be delayed for 6 weeks, so what we currently have is a game where your ability to gain BrickBux suddenly hits a brick wall when you finish the base story content. (note that *all* players get the seasons, but the paid version has extra "premium" content)

I am not saying its right, but with a microtransaction model that is purely optional, i think that the stigma between having them in game shouldnt be a big issue, again, its not right, If anything it just shows how impatient people have become with games and not getting their full value out of it for the price they paid, Its no different to finding cash glitches or cheesy ways of grinding driving park in GT PSP, and you did pay, you paid with time, its more the fact that any modern game really wants to let you know they dont care about your time. before the time of easy payments we would grind for doing silly things we simply wanted to do except these days its like everything is expected like how forza gives you all the cars with no need to earn them, no sense of achivement. Also, I do like a good grind, that is just me personally, and no, i dont think the grind should be excessive for paid games, an hour a day should get you towards your objective moderately enough really, but if a game was truly that good you would enjoy playing it and not feel like you need to pay money to get the items you want. Im more bothered that im locked out on playing a game because i dont believe that any game should require muliple accounts for full functionality.

This is one of my thoughts of the game: Im not gonna accept the fact that the items in the store are WAY to expensive. Being 10.000 or 14.000 for just one cool looking vehicle. Ive just unlocked A class and seriously!? 125 is all you get for replaying a race on A class? By that logic you need to a total of 125×80=10.000 80 RACES IN TOTAL! THAT IS INSANE! But it gets worse. What if you want a 14.000 vehicle or 20.000 vehicle in the store? 125×112=14.000 112 RACES IN TOTAL! but lets make it even more ridiculous shall we? 125×160=20.000 160! RACES! And sure other games give low rewards to push microtransactions. But those are free! Your game is 60 Euros at minimum and 120 Euros at maximum! And you still want more income so make free to play players suffer by making the highest replay rewards absolutely miserable in ammount and take probably multiple hours! I say to that. No! Im not gonna do this ridiculous grinding nor pay any microtransactions! Im sure most feel the same. Sorry who had to model these. But ill never drive em. There way to much unnecessary effort! If you want to save this game. 1 Get rid of microtransactions that shouldn't be in a 60 to 120 Euros game! 2 Make replay races rewards actually worth your time with a nice balance in bucks cause highest difficulty only giving you 125 replay is not acceptable Thats one of the things i have to say about it. Do with that. As you will.

The rubberbanding in this game ruins it for me.

To me, the sheer existence of an in-game store in a non free-2-play game makes it an instantanious 0/10, let alone a broken economy. But still, there are reasons why "alternative means" exist and this is one of them.
