I put the GoPro on the Airport Shuttle and had some fun. This set is now officially 25 years old. It is definitely my favorite set from the 90's if not in all my collection.
Another great video! Really enjoyed it!! 25 years!! Geez it's time for Lego to release a new one. I'm sure they will sell like pancakes no matter what the price is.
The monorail was always #1 on my wish list when I was a kid. You are lucky to have two of them. This was really fun to watch. Your gag reel was the best though!
Huge fan of the shuttle I can remember having it as a child I can also remember trashing it as a child as well. If I only knew. Great video congrats on 10k subs
Love the loop its something i also used to do when i ran out of slope track. I also found that its more like the real thing but it does take up a lot of space. Also s-curves work i found. Its surprising how flexible the track is. I also tend to use left over curves to make aircraft hangers.
Love this video. Perhaps you could do something like this for all of your train lines or larger vehicles so you could do first person tours of the city. Very cool.
I think you should run them more often in your movies, you do run your trains quite a lot but this is the first time I see the Airport Shuttle in action!
I remember you have mentioned before that when you received this airport shuttle set back in the 1990's the cost was $170. That was quite a lot back then! It's so nice that you have kept the condition of this set so good that it is still running smoothly.
I missed out on the airport shuttle, but I plan to use the Blue or Orange street cars for the airport shuttle for my Lego town. I'm just going to need more space, more tables and more train tracks. I was disappointed to learn that Lego stopped making the switch tracks for the train. On the website, it said that they were retired. I think I have two of them.
Fantastic set-up. The kids will love it forever and their friends will be hella jealous. You must have about 5% of the world's inventory of monorail track! I appreciated everything except for the Giants t-shirt.
i wondered how you were going to run two at once on the same track...the answer; very carefully with lots of supervision! LOL I like the corkscrew down, I have the futuron monorail and lots of extra track, I'll have to try that. Great way to use up curves
Nice, The Airport Shuttle is #1 on my wish list of sets I probably will never have. I think Josh gives you a million view idea at the end. That should be on Alex's train crashes. LOL He's clever
Do you think we'll ever get another set like this or would I be better off buying a regular train set? Also I assume your kids want to play with your city. What kind of limits do you give them and/or do they have their own city/collection?
While I remain hopeful that LEGO will come out with a similar set, I just don't see it happening. No doubt it would cost LEGO millions to create the unique molds for this set. They seem to be finding a lot of success in Superheroes and Star Wars sets now so I don't think it's a priority.
I do have rules. No LEGO leaves the basement. No getting on the table when friends are over. All non family must be supervised by me. Fix what you break, and no rough play. Not all of these rules get followed 100% of the time, but we try.
Hey alex You should look into fpv cameras. They are way smaller than go pros and although the quality isn't nearly as good it will be way easier to mount them on trains. They are used on RC planes and heli's to send video down to a receiver so you might have to get something so you can record the video but it might be worth looking into.
Ty Jamison to me it's worth no more an a few thousand, but with the rare airport train and creator/classic building sets that are 10-25 yrs old, maybe $9000 since they're well kept.
I just got the new lego cargo train last night I've already built it and my lego city is expanding I used to put my lego city on cardboard, but now I'll have to put it on a table
+Jakob Benner They are from the actual set #6399 from 1990. You could also get the accessory track which is where I got the switches. LEGO discontinued them a long time ago. I wish they would bring it back.
Hey I am building a large town set as well and I am asking your help in building a church design. I would greatly appreciate it if you helped me with this layout
MAN!!! How much do you weigh?!?! I feel like I would crack those tables in two if I climbed up there!! Of course, I'm a hefty 240 and 6' 4". You are a brave man!!
Alex Nunes thanks! Also I have started a lego city and am using the old grey baseplates well at least I started to buy those one should I keep buying ore do new grey because I personally like the old grey better
It's just personal preference, but if you go for the old gray you will be buying s lot from private sellers. Good luck with the City. Sounds like it's going well.
