Lego Chess (PC, 1998) 

This was great fun to work on. Lego were quite inexperienced and very strict in terms of what we could do. We were banned from bending limbs when animating or showing any violence (we originally wanted the characters to explode into pieces). All the characters were exactly to scale and based on real sets. I left Krisalis Software the following year so it’s one of the last games I worked on for them. 😊

Miss my childhood.. from Korea.. I had no idea what chess was, until my mother bought me this cd as birthday present..and that kid has grown with elo rater between1900-2000....still a pleasant hobby.

Damn, I remember buying this around 2002-2003. If I'm not mistaken, the CD came with a figure, which was like a king in his throne or something. I remember playing this on my mom's computer, on like windows 2000. I miss those times.

The tutorials in this game were actually very helpful, learned some rules and tricks no one had taught me before, like en passant.

Played this from a 4 pack of Lego games: Chess, Rock Raiders, Creator, and Island (1). All of them were great fun!

this game also came with a cool Lego figure of the king and his crown was detachable so you could use it on other little Lego figure as well. I used to play this on a old 1995 Packard Bell computer. seriously though who would buy a remake of this game? if they actually made a more modern version of Lego Chess with all the old content and a little bit of new stuff added even I would probably buy it. so many memories of this game, bring it back and new kids could learn something and old fans could have some fun.

I remember playing this in 3rd grade back in like 2006. Our teacher used it to teach us about probability. It also taught me how to play chess. Great times back then.

This and Lego Island were my favorite games growing up. Thanks for making this great game.

These cutscenes are just timeless 😂

The only problem with this game is the SFX used in the Cut scenes; the more a certain SFX plays, it stops playing all together and it can happen at random. 1 of the examples is when the Queen throws a Banana to trip up the Knight; the "Parrot" SFX is missing and it even doesn't play when the Rook takes out the Bishop

Despite playing this so much as a kid (poorly) I had totally forgotten about it until recently! Thanks for the upload!
