As someone who works in a warehouse and is forklift certified, seeing the stationary forklift parked with the forks in the air gives me the willies XD. But great review!

I love the minifigures and the vehicles, but for that price point I would have expected to see more grocery store. The friends set from a couple of years ago had more for half the price.

I really like this set and how it looks. I was expecting about $50 for it. Ideally, I would want to see about $40, but $70 is just too much.

It does not happen regularly therefore I appreciate the fact that Lego for this summer wave - intended or not - put in some synergy between sets. Farm, chicken coop, farmers market van, and grocery store work very well together to produce, transport, and sell food for the city. The crates with the 2x3 plates on the bottom (it's the same for the farmers market van by the way) should even fit into the open containers from the cargo train. Prices are what they are and we have to deal with them somehow. Good thing is those sets will be on the market for about 2 years and I think usually there are no issues with availability for City sets. So be patient - it's hard, I know - and wait for discounts to tell the market we are not willing to pay those luxury prices for toys would be my suggestion.

I'm convinced this is set is return fire at Woolworths here in Australia, who released "Lego like" brick sets of their stores and delivery vehicles. Even the Fresh logo is reminiscent of Fresh Food People tagline Woolworths had in years past.

It has some nice pieces, and it's a good idea, but it's too expensive for a relatively small set. The store in itself doesn't offer much play, aside from the cool sub assemblies. The forklift is the best part, the side "conveyor belt" and the bottle machine are cool. I'll have to go and get the minifigure with the prosthetic leg and the shopping cart. The only way I would consider buying this set was if it was with a 50% discount and in a good mood.

You are thus going to tell me that the lego houses of the past had more play than this? Putting a figure on the bed or in a chair and that's that. The rest in those houses is window dressing. The same can be said for this building. Or any other building. I got this set for 50 euros. And imo it's worth that much. No more. What you are saying is go 30 euros/35 dollars. Do you realize that every set with 2 cars and a side build is 30 euros/35 dollars? 3 simple lego cars are 3x10 euros. I don't see how this set would be 30 euros. at the least, it would be 45.euros but that is pushing it.

I love how Jang has always been reasonable when it comes to pricing, yes we want it as cheap as possible, but salaries have to get paid too. too small or too pricey in my opinion but I agree with needing more 'regular' sets and civilian minifigs. I have an army of firemen just because firestations come with good parts (ex. doors and large window panes) at decent prices. Nice to see regular city stuff, i'll wait 'till it goes down in price :) mainly for the produce and double doors

I actually love this set. The colors, the details, the figures, the accessories! Just trying to be positive. But I won’t pay more than $40 for it normally, but I could see $45 considering the plate, and I suppose $50 considering inflation. So $70 is still not ok in my book. But I’m trying to make my comments less of a broken record!

I'm really glad the farm theme is back and hopefully we get more farm themed sets. It would be incredible to have a full grocery store with a big store and more sets with it. Maybe a connecting backroom? Or even just more stuff to put inside, a garden nursery would be nice to put outside of it like some stores have.

Maybe I'm out of touch with the demographic, but if AFOLs have been complaining so much about prices recently, then I imagine it's worse for parents who are looking for their kids. Why buy your kids a city set for such horrible value when you could get them way more for any other unlicensed theme? I just don't see how it helps them in any market.

I couldn't agree more with your comments on adding an easily removable roof. I mean for the ridiculous price of US$70(!), you could have at least given us a nicely detailed roof, much like how they did with the most recent Star Wars diorama sets.

The road plate actually makes sense in this set. This set is pretty good, I really like it but, no way this should be the same price as the Lego Avengers vs Thanos from last year.

Awesome to see the new supermarket set. The car is a very late 2000s - early 2010s style which is cool . Looking at this i can probably make my own shop since i have a lot of butcher, fish counter along with some vegetable stands from Woolworths Lego and lots of fruit/vegetable crates . I also own an orange forklift from set 60020

I like the figures too but the fig with the running blade puzzles me. I get it "inclusion" yet that is a running blade not a regular prosthetic. It would be inaccurate to see someone walk the streets with that. It would be awesome if we got a park set with someone practising. Like an athlete sprinter. It just becomes a bit silly if you want to make things real life.

The "Central Perk" is $10.00 less and makes for a far more interesting interior set; not to mention 3 more mini figs. The forklift, one mini fig, and a two crates with vegetables and maybe the shopping cart would be worth about $10.00 (U.S.). The car doesn't appeal to me. For $70.00; I would rather have a minivan, jeep or truck. This is a great idea; but not a good approach. This would be a great idea for a MOC.

I just bought this for my son for christmas for just £35, but it comes with exclusive stickers so it can become our local supermarket Asda!

Lego prices are going out of hand. In Brazil the City school set was being sold (prior to price increases) for 131 US dollars (699 reals). And retailers never really give a discount on Lego. On Black Friday one gets at most 10%. I wonder where this whole accessibility talk by Lego went... The official retail price in a 3rd world country is twice the US price... ridiculous!

I'll get this set eventually, but as you say in a sale. I imagine some creativity and a second box could allow for closing up the back of the store, some better product distinction, etc. I could really see those windows making a great, open space.

Agree with basically everything in the review. I'll add that, despite not liking the new road plates, I think this is a good use of them. I can see myself using the loading dock and parking space. Especially because the forklift and car are fantastic.

The way to fix the forklift port would be to use a 1x2 technic brick with two pin holes, placing the axle in the hole closest to the outside of the building (this would move the liftarms forward a bit so they won't catch on the crate). To keep the axle in place, one would use an axle with a nailhead on one end, with the head on the inside of the wall so it couldn't slip out.

The Kwik e mart is the best Grocery store yet, I love that it had more shelves, so, like a real shopping trip, you go through the isles. Only thing better here is the food.

I love the look of this set, sure a roof would’ve been nice but the build leaves space for one which wont take much spare parts to cover up, I can imagine combining 2 of these sets to make a larger store but there is no way to justify the price. Even in the UK at £59.99 its crazy expensive! I’d like to pay £35 but willing to go to £40. I’m sure Amazon UK will have it on sale for those prices soon enough.

I bought because I was deciding between all the farm/market/van and I like Lego. I'm a casual fan I guess and only buy maybe 2 sets a year,but understand the price plight. Now my little families have somewhere to restock their RV and Surf shop :)

From what I have seen in recent years, it seemed that LEGO is making price changes so that it's like more consistent with the rest of the world. For context, 60097, a City set that was released couple years ago, retailed for $189.99 US and $329.90 for Singapore. Exchange rates I would calculate @ $0.69. Prices displayed are in US. US: $189.99 SG: $227.63 This set, cost $99.90 in Singapore. US? $69.99? US: $69.99 SG: $68.93 P.S Although most of the time closer to retirement they tend to go beyond 30- 40% off online, and that included HTF sets like 76139 Batmobile and 75252 Star destroyer. While I get some may say it's expensive, erm, people in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia had been paying absurd prices for LEGO over the years. I do like prices are now more consistent across the globe, however, the RRP of the set could had been cheaper.

Online close to retirement and 30-40% off is usually bulk sale from distribution which mostly only goes for sets that didn't sell that well in particular areas in the world. So you simply luck out getting "that particular set" for a bargain. The retiring train set of 2018 in my country goes for 85 euros atm. That is a decent deal for something that large. And I also bought the old marina set decades ago in a similar fashion. Which was a hard-to-find set at the time. But if you really want something don't wait for the bell. You might miss out or pay HTF prices.

this set, with the Asda sticker sheet (so you can brand it like the UK supermarket), is available for £35.00 in Asda stores, which is about the right price point, the RRP is way too high. Great video!

If they had added a roof they could have put a roof top garden and crops grow on the roof could be taken down useing the forklift at max hight. But that is a nice mod idea

AU$79 at Kmart here in Australia. Not cheap, but not super expensive either. My main gripe is the forklift and back door which I could of done without. And would of been nice to have a few extra apron wearing employees and a few more orange shopping trolleys

I'm fine with it as it is. Kids can easily get access without having to break it down. It also helps since there are a lot of tiny bits and pieces. Pulling off a roof might wiggle too much and everything goes all over the place. 70 as is is too much. 50 would be ok. Here it is 50 euros which is fine. But I imagine it will go 42.50/45 soon.

I'm a bit late in the game here as the set is already retired. I love the set and did get it myself. My only criticism is that for $80, we should have gotten a roof. Thanks as always for another high quality review.
