LEGO CITY CENTER  

Usually I am not a fan of city sets but it looks like they are finally doing something interesting. They need to because they have always done a better job with Friends sets than city ones. This looks like something that would be in Friends sets. Really like that they have a lot of minifigs also. Nice to see Lego finally think outside the box for city sets.

This looks like an awesome 2023 set! Unfortunately a bit expensive especially when compared to a Modular

What a neat build! I feel like this has potential for a really cool moc expanding the modules/adding stairs, etc.

This looks like a combo of creator 3 in 1, city, and ninjago. Also they could’ve included a couple of vehicles like a taxi cab and someone on a bicycle.

I think it looks great and offers a lot of opportunities for young builders to play, explore and re-arrange things. That is the way to go, I think. And for AFOL’s - it is neat and if the open back is a problem, I am sure some ideas how to close it up will eventually be available an Rebrickable.

I’m glad this time LEGO city has a downtown set where less than 25% of the pieces are for vehicles

Thanks for the review, I like this set but as others have said it lacks some depth, not worried about a lack of stairs as this has nice access for the little ones to play

To me the set has some hints of 41704 Friends Main Street about it. It looks really exciting in terms of playability for kids. Unless I had a whole bunch of sets like that, it would stick out like a sore thumb in my current setup, though! I am wondering if the choice of colours are part of Lego's aim to make the City theme more attractive to girls (whilst at the same time, with recently adding male characters, attempting to attract more boys to the Friends sets). It is great to see more effort being put into City buildings. I have felt some of the Friends models have had a lot more attention made to their design over the past years - the sort of attention City should have too.

This set is awesome, but the open back and no access are big disadvantages

It's nice, but i don't know about the modular road concept...

I like how this one looks however I am noticing that the sets seem to be losing depth. I think that is one way they are trying to keep the price at $200.00. Like you were saying the dance floor can only hold 2 or 3 people and the haircut place can only hold one. I would like to see these sets get deeper. No stairs is also a turn off to me. What are they going to use their jetpacks to get to the top? Thanks for the video.

out of all city sets building wise this set has potential for different themed building's my only issue is space of each building and fact there open backs otherwise great set idea.

$320 RRP in Australia - wow. By the way, in reality a vet clinic would never be located upstairs, because not all dogs know how to walk up steps.

I *absolutely* love the colourfulness of this set! I especially love the inclusion of a bike lane! SO modern! I can see someone with your talent 😉 expanding it out a bit - adding hotel rooms to the 2nd and first floor may be. Expanding the cellphone and barber shops, to make it fit in more. MAYBE expanding the vet clinic, so that people don't all have to go to one clinic. So many things that can be done!!

$200 US with no stairways or elevator system. Each section is still a bit cookie cutter looking. I feel a bit like 35% of the cost is in the 14 minifigs. Is the other parts worth 65% of the cost worth it?

Great build for you Alex, however I'm truly disappointed in Legos decisions to phase out the original 32x32 baseplates.

Legos last city sets release was a huge disappointment, glad to see they went with a bigger set once again! Still hate those tiny road plates though

Not a fan of that set.

In general it looks like a 12yr old invented this building and didn't have enough pieces. Every where it lacks of walls, bricks, or doors. Price is ridiculous!!!
