Pretty sure that the bars on the front in 1979 would have been the type with mid-attachments and rounded ends, while it appears that your copy has the incorrect "modern" (didn't appear in black until 1982) version.
This is the last of the three sets I need from this group. I wish I can find these items for the current prices you are quoting. 😜. It has been two years so the prices seem to be on the rise. I had this set and the Jousting Tournament as a child. Wanted that Yellow Castle as a child but it did not come to be until last month.
