Today, thanks to LEGO / LAN we're taking a look at ALL THREE of the Creator 3 in 1 Medieval Castle builds! Ashnflash Xtra: / @ashnflashgames My Instagram: / ashnflash My Twitter: / ashnflash
They have a tree growing sideways out of the foundation. Be aware when you buy this set that you will have to deal with that at some point and it will be expensive.
@@adventureswithbricks3180 one castle I went to was in a massive mountain and the hole had like a 100m drop, I would be scared to take a crap there lol
This set is a massive flex by Lego on their previous selves. It is a beautiful homage to the old Castle sets of the 80’s and 90’s, especially the remade Black Falcon knights. It is so exciting to see them update their old designs with modern techniques and bricks. I really want this!
@there's no catchy slogan that would seriously be awesome, but I think LEGO dosent care too much for vikings especially as the theme didn't originally sell well in America, I feel like if they are doing old themes for creator and ideas then maybe it will go to classic space which I find unfortunate as we already have star wars
@there's no catchy slogan yup, it did sell well in Europe but I guess vikings haven't really crossed over as well as things like Pirates and Castle have there since Vikings are mainly taught in schools in Europe since they were apart of European history rather than America.
Pretty sure the "civilian pirate" is actually supposed to be the blacksmith of the Castle ;) I really like it. But I still hope we get a proper adult-oriented Medieval Castle for the 90th Anniversary.
Never had any love for this until this review I think made it a must buy on my list. Completed/closed up that castle looks phenomenally good. Could use a bit more on the inside but as is really good for price.
Can't believe this set is two years old! Built two of these this weekend, the castle and the tower, great build, great! Needs a Wizard mining for the tower! I actually mounted the dragon form the castle on the tower to go along with the smaller red one. Awesome, builds!
I just realized something. If you buy two of them, you can make both main builds (and make one a little more unique if you wanted) but you could clip them back to back if they are folded all the way open to make an even larger complete castle.
Excellent review, ty for doing it for us. I plan a getting a few of these sets and making them the main castle for my Lego Kingdoms Lion Knights. The wall banners red and white coloring fits perfectly for that faction.
Love your detailed review Ash and the way you combine all three into one shot even though you only had one copy. I am sooooo excited that they can combine and I was going to buy two but now I will buy three!
@@Ashnflash Yeah, tell me about it... I'm not so sure there if I can even buy more than one of this LEGO set (despite in me really wanting 3 copies of this LEGO set when everything is said and done there) before it gets retired by The LEGO Company, with us in seeing how much it costs in Canada for one copy of this LEGO set! 😟😟😟
Great set! Thanks for the review. Definitely agree that the minifigures are just not as cool as they should be, though. There should have been a wizard for the tower and definitely a king for the castle.
Probably because they tend to put their piece budget in the build itself for Creator Models. More minifigures would've probably meant a price raise or a significantly smaller castle. Even though I would've loved to get more figures in the set, I think it wouldn't be worth compromising the build. However what LEGO in my opinion should do, is releasing a minifigure pack like they do for Harry Potter and Marvel and have like 4 of these knights in there. That would be perfect!
@@AClassicBrick That's a good point. I still have a Creator 3 in 1 log cabin that I think was around £25-£30 and that only has one minifigure, but it was worth it for all the pieces.
Love your reviews man. Very informative. For whatever reason I became very cognizant of you saying “as well” a lot. Not a criticism, just noticed it. Haha
This set really makes me want LEGO to bring back the Lord of the Rings theme! Imagine an updated Helm's Deep or a brand new Minas Tirith! (LOTR if is my favorite LEGO theme so hopefully they bring it back like Harry Potter.) Great video and I might actually pick this set up! (Also, who spotted the glitch in the matrix from 15:55-16:07?)
@there's no catchy slogan I did see them! They looked amazing, but if they did release one of those under the IDEAS theme, I don't believe we would get our own LOTR theme (if it returns). Hopefully, with the new show coming out, we will get new Hobbit and LOTR sets out!
I just bought 2 of these in the past week. It's really nice for sure. Already built the main castle, not sure if I wanna do a tower build, or windmill bulid
If it weren't for Star Wars and Potter, the brand wouldn't have survived. Those lines allow Lego to produce less profitable stuff like this for die hard enthusiasts.
@@UrMomsChauffer Potter didn’t come back till 2018 so Lego was doing just fine without them. Lego COULD survive without Star Wars if they restructure themselves to not be so dependent on it. There was a time before any licensing with Lego and those decades are often considered their golden years.
@@metroid767 the Golden Years, when the company was going bankrupt, and almost sold out to Disney? Ah yes, the Golden Years, when the company was about to go under. I can see why they called them the Golden Years. Also, I have NEVER heard anyone use that term in reference to LEGOS.
@@UrMomsChaufferIn essence, they already have sold out to Disney. But in 78-‘94 was, yes, before all that. And I’m sorry you’ve not heard the term for Lego before. Ask around the community. You’ll find Golden Years /Golden Era used A LOT
as someone who back in the day when the original castle sets in the 80`s came on the market really badly wanted a castle and didn`t get one, to finally get a lego castle is beyond most words and does not really explain just how many emotions that i`m feeling about this set, and although my 80`s was mostly about space lego so castle lego would have not gone with what i had at the time i still lusted after what i could not have at the time, and also i may have done some extremely naughty things to get some at the time, and as a child you can never have enough lego it didn`t really help that i went round a friends house and saw his knights etc and fell in love, but off course if i did indeed have this so called original medieval lego then if it`s anything like my old space lego then there would be no box, parts missing and no instructions, and i can only imagine if you can find some of these old sets on ebay or wherever then you would possibly be charged an arm and a leg to buy them, and as i mostly need my arms and hands to build lego this would never be a good thing, and if were all honest and especially as adults even if we now have the money to finally buy all the lego sets we could ever want, and let alone have the time and space for them, there is probably lots of other more practicle things to spend our cash on, like rent and food, but dame the gods of adult hood to hell, i don`t care what parents and weirdos who don`t like lego say if i`ve got the need to buy lego and certainly the spare cash to do so i will by thors hammer get that lego, and although lego is supposed to be for kids i as a adult will be buying these sets for me and me alone, and not some snot nosed kid who will eventually tire of his lego and go down the dark park and discover k`nex or whatever, and if someone confronts me in a toy store while i`m buying lego i will quite happily tell them it`s for me, so there, and although your review as always was both amazing and really detailed about this lego sets features, please don`t encourage us to buy even more of this set, as i have already spent 90 pound on it already, and i already have troubling and strange thoughts in my head about this lego set already, and thats even before i have opened up the box, so for someone to suggest to us that we should buy multiple boxes of this lego, is both wrong and right in so many ways, if i need naughty thoughts about buying every lego set out there twice i don`t really need your wicked suggestions, after all i have to consider mine first, so there.
As I'm a Canadian, The LEGO Company *_really_* is giving me a reason to *_NOT_* visit the LEGO Brand Retail stores/LEGOLAND Discovery Centers or the official LEGO online shop until August of this year, as the Summer 2021 LEGO NINJAGO, Summer 2021 LEGO Monkie Kid and this LEGO Creator 3-in-1 castle set are not being released until then (I'm not sure about the Crocodile LEGO Creator 3-in-1 set's release date for North America)!!! 😑😑😑😞😞😞😞😞😑😑😑
Great review! I am happy I live in Europe and do not have to wait that long. As you say it is alluring to get (at least) 3 of this set. I do not want to ruin anything, but is the mouse build correct? I think you've put the black piece facing the wrong way.
The catapult is not a catapult it's a trebuchet. Catapults use twisted rope to form a spring like mechanism whereas a trebuchet uses a counterweight to provide the force to fire its missiles.
3:01 is that sand blue thing 1x2 brick a new one? Or can someone tell me the design ID/number 14:45 ???? xddd 15:55 again bad cut :D but i dont mind.... *_Is it just me or are these year LEGO sets solid? :D_*
Can you build the 2 and 3 build at the same time... (I guess not, but it would be so awesome) I just watched the last view minutes, becasue I am getting it anyway, so I can see the little Lego suprises for myself
Got a house in my neighborhood with the window right next to the toilet. And there's one next to the tub. Big windows too. I knew someone had bought the house because the shades went down and have never come back up.
