As someone who loves Lego but doesn’t want to look like I have “toys” in my apartment, I think the orchids are stunning

I already really loved the orchids, though I wasn't a fan of the succulents. This video just really made me love the orchids even more, but I'm now even considering getting the succulents just for certain parts now. The whole "botanics" themed sets just never cease to amaze me, and they usually provide some fun building time, glad to see them continued!

I have to give major props to the orchid’s designer. My nephew sat less than a meter away from it and he still had to look twice before realizing it was made of LEGO.

I can't wait to get these. I love the botanicals collection. We need this to be a yearly thing. There are sooooooo many plants and flowers just waiting to be turned into lego

I'm a guy who's childhood was Lego. As a 'serious' adult, with a passion for interiour design, I'm always looking for an excuse to buy Lego. This hits the mark 100% for me! Perfect decorative item for grown ups who loves Lego!

I already pre-ordered the succulents, but now I want to get the orchid. The botanic series is so phenomenal. The Bonsai Tree is the thing that got me back into Lego after 10 years away and man it's crazy to see how beautiful they can look

I actually teared up when you discuss the orchid. I love them so much. My mom also collected them and I inherited hers to add to mine when she passed. The combination of the soft music and the gentleness of your voice made me have all the feels. I can not wait for my orchids to arrive.

My mom loves orchids. I think I’ll buy this and build it for her. Update 6 months later: It’s her birthday today and I found the orchid set at Barnes and Noble so I bought it!

You are absolutely right that these make wonderful gifts. I surprised my mom with the bouquet and used a simple clear glass vase we already owned along with clear round LEGO pieces I bought in bulk to fill about 1/3 of the vase that look not just aesthetically pleasing but also help keep each stem in place better. She’s LOVES it. She can’t get over that it’s a LEGO set and has pointed it out and sent photos of it to family and friends. I then surprised her with the bird of paradise set which she fell instantly in love with and has displayed with Hawaiian art she’s decorated the living room with. I can’t wait for this orchid. It looks so real and I love sharing a gift of something I enjoy so much as LEGO. In the past few years LEGO has tapped perfectly into the adult market with display sets. I loved LEGO as a kid and now as an adult found how calm and happy I felt building a set after a long stressful day at work. I could never imagine having LEGO sets on display in my moms house and I doubt she would have ever either. But now she has the botanical sets, I’ll sometimes put seasonal holiday sets on fireplace which she always smiles at, and the Christmas sets she’s fallen in love with too. Every Christmas now I bring out the village sets to display. I even displayed the Disney castle during Christmas with a Phillips hue light pointing at it so it would change colors slowly like the real castle at night. Last year I bought the Frozen Ice Castle set with Christmas in mind. Over the living room fireplace are two alcoves which I used one for the Disney Castle the previous year. This past year I put the Ice Castle in the other with another Phillips hue light pointed this time behind towards the back of the castle which made the clear parts all glow beautifully being backlit. LEGO is such a great company that I’m so happy to have still in my adult life. And it really does make me endlessly happy to share it with the ones I love proudly displaying. My worry had been at first when displaying Disney Castle and then following year the Ice Castle was they would look too much like I left toys out but they looked like gorgeous expensive large display items and everyone who has seen them gave it the excited and impressed “wow!” I had hoped to achieve.

I ordered the Floral Bouquet and Roses for my wife last Christmas. She is a plant lover and we have (1) Orchid among our flowers. She started adjusting the flowers to be more lifelike and when I showed her both of these sets, she was interested in the Orchids. I pre-ordered them and recently had the sunflowers delivered. I hope Lego continues to add to the Botanical Collection in the future.

My grown son gave me the Succulents set for Christmas. I finally had a perfect time to build it a couple of weekends (late January) ago. I enjoyed it very much and was persistently impressed by how many mechanical elements became organic shapes. As far as the nine little boxes, I built each in order as I paged through each book of instructions. Building all nine at once feels like it would have robbed me of the natural growth/building process. Most entertaining to me was the structure of the large red flower...what felt like a six-shooter cylinder being filled with the six pistol connectors! Future botanical sets may be in my future! I was already going to get these. I regret watching this because of that because now all those interesting techniques have been spoiled :’)… oh well. I should’ve known better than to think a former LEGO designer wouldn’t touch upon clever constructions. And now that I’m here anyways: the fork-shield-bar-holding clip combination is so genius. The fork at its tip is slightly lower but also wider than a bar and therefore makes the connection angle legal with the clip part’s orientation: if it had been done with regular bars, there wouldn’t be enough space for the rounded section but with the fork the shield is slightly angled. That’s something I’d never even expected a MOCist to come up with, let alone an official set. Mad props to the designer.

actually, really fun fact, the clips holding the stems is not JUST to hold them up because they’re a little heavy but because real orchids are also held up by small clips. this was too cool, my favorite flower(s). definitely bought them :)

The Frogs, Demogorgon Heads and Forest men hats are just wonderful!

I was really impressed by the orchid set. Not a complicated build, and a bit repetitive, but looks much more realistic than I expected. Have stuck it in my hallway, which has no natural light and it looks real from a couple of feet away. The worst bit was pulling half of it apart mid-build because I thought I had made a mistake, but it turned out I was just missing a piece. Very unusual but new piece sent straight away.

I absolutely love everything that comes out of the Lego botanicals line. Great stuff!

These botanical sets have got me back into lego. I got the earlier ones and enjoyed them so much. Planning on getting all of my stored lego when I'm home for the holidays. The modular buildings and Christmas village look promising and I want to see what I can manage to do with some of the old stuff.

I love Lego and I adore indoor plants. This is the most excited I've been for a new purchase in ages!!! I tried to convince our local store to pre-sell me the orchid, but it looks like I'm just going to have to wait until Sunday... Going to be the longest week of my life!

Instantly preordered the orchid for Mother's day and now I wish I had purchased a second for myself.

I got my sister the Bonsai last year for her advent calender. And she LOVED it!! All the little pink frogs 😀

My current living situation makes growing flowers hard, so I think I'll pick up the orchid at some point. The succulent is also very tempting. Overall, I'm impressed with the 18+ line so far. They have a mature feel to them, but still keep a reasonable price point for casual builders. I can actually imagine displaying these in my living room.

I'd get the orchids for sure. As an interior design piece it would sit nicely anywhere and I don't have to water it.

I have always wanted an orchid plant but I was afraid I would kill it so I have never gotten one. This is going on my wish list.

Thank you for this review! As an older female Lego builder, I wasn't sure after building so many restaurants, hotels, and other city structures that I'd find much challenge or variety in these kits. You've sold me, however, that I have to have them since I grow and love succulents and plants and that Lego has made the builds new and different.

I absolutely love lego plants! I use to have real plants, lots of them, but when you go away they are a pain in the arse! So I gave em all away, and bought 3 expensive nice fakes. Then I discovered legos flowers n plants! And my plant stands now have a bonsai tree, bird of paradise, etc. My kitchen table has the bouquet with the red roses and the sunflowers added of course, makes a beautiful colourful table centre piece. Lego needs to create a vase for all of these stem flowers! I’ll be pouncing on these new ones asap, thx! 🍻

I just got the bonsai tree set for Easter and I'm very much looking forward to building/reviewing it! There's something so relaxing about building lego and I think these botanical sets will be a good avenue for more adults to rediscover their childhood hobby (as I have!)

Getting those forks in the shields for the orchid flowers was the most unpleasant Lego experience I've ever had. So difficult, literally painful to jam them in. But the experience is totally worth it, the most beautiful Lego set ever, just a joy to have around the house. Cannot recommend this set enough.

I think the orchid one is the most beautiful of all this botanical collection. It looks almost life like and would look really cool in any room.

I run a piano studio out of my home, and my clientele is usually kids. I've collected these botanical builds and the kids LOVE them. They don't need watering and are so much more interesting to look at then fake plants.

The orchids look amazing and was going to buy that for mothers day. After seeing this video I'm going to pick up the succulents too! Maybe even another for myself for parts, so many neat elements!

The botanical collection really is superb for roping in new fans. Growing up I loved LEGO, but as an adult I could never justify the price... until I saw the LEGO bonsai tree at Barnes & Noble a couple months ago and bought it in an instant. Now I'm carefully trying to work out when an appropriate time will be to spring for both of these sets. In my defense I have a cat who would be thrilled to nibble on actual plants, so these are a safer option for adding greenery to my apartment for a comparable price.

When you need to give your home some colour, but are terrible with plants and love lego, these are just perfect! Gonna try and get the Orchids as soon as I can!

When buying Lego sets I usually gravitate towards 3-in-1 sets because I really enjoy creative parts usage while also balancing an aesthetic display piece (Majestic Tiger, Aquarium); however, I am really impressed by the Lego Company in their botanical collection. I'm definitely going to the store to pick up the Orchid set when it hits shelves. Great video and great review!

Funny you should mention building space ships since the red flower in the dried flower set reminding me of the tale engine of the serenity(firefly) is why I'm even going down the rabbit hole with botanical sets. Although that may be the strongest entry.

I was happy when this orchid came out and built it today. I got into lego Because of an Easter bunny but am not really interested in star wars, Harry Potter, movie characters or having massive buildings so It’s nice to see different things being offered. I have struggled to find things I want because lego does seem very gamer based.

I've been thinking carefully about what lego set I want to buy to build with my older father, and I think it's gotta be these succulents! They look fun to make, not TOO difficult for amateurs, and when we're done we can display them without worry that the cats will eat them!

you said it correctly, i played with Lego since 1994 but as i grow older i got disinterested and just passed it down to my nephews.. but this set oh my oh my made me giddy about Lego again at the age of 33. so good job Lego.

As a lifelong Lego lover, the orchid set is one of my favorite build experiences and favorite sets that Lego has ever designed. It's just a phenomenal Lego product!!!

I have the Succulents, and absolutely love them. I got them for Christmas last year. They were an amazing build, with a lot of fun techniques. Highly recommend it! Same with the Bonsai Tree! I don't have the orchids, but I do want them

Agree that these weren't the most fun to build, but I LOVE having them on display! It was totally worth it, and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the Botanical Collection!

used to be a huge fan of lego growing up. but i dont care for any licensed franchise sets they have. so i never had an interest in displaying them. but the lego botanical sets is entirely up my alley, i have a massive plant collection and they fit right in place amongst my real plants. i have sooo many friends who arent even into legos for their own apartments. my only complaint is that you have to dust these like real plants, without the benefit of seeing your plant grow over time. hahahaha

As a 15 year old who loves lego, the orchids caught my attention. I loved it the second i saw it and it will arrive on monday/tuesday

I love lego flowers. I have a black thumb, everything I try to grow dies a painful death so plants I cant kill are a 10/10 and it being lego makes it even better

I think I’ll get my mother the orchids. Since we have cats she can’t put her flowers out on the tables and windowsill anymore. And I get to build something fun :D

I totally agree with the last sentence while not one of the ones in this video I got my mom the Birds of Paradise one plus assembly as a mother's day gift as her office bans potted plants due to fear of them attracting mice.

Ooh I like them. Pretty, decorative, fun to build and they wont die by accidentally over watering. ;) I think it would be funny to build it and put them between the real plants on the windowsill to (partially to mess with people). Sadly that's a bad idea due to legoplants not liking sunlight. Thoug the discolouration of the bricks might even make them look more realistic.

Didn't expect to like this, but the Orchid looks great. That said, I'm an engineer of wood science and technology and I WANT TREES!

I am not much of a plant lover, but I was thinking about having orchids or suculents. These Lego builds might be a solution for people like me. Who would like to have them for their beauty, but not into caring for plants.

The orchids look really nice, but I don't really enjoy those. I do however love the pot they come in. I wish they had done that for the other botanical sets I've done. I will definitely be picking up the succulents set. My loves succulents so she'll enjoy it.

I like that these sets do not require you to purchase an additional pot/ vase like the bouquet set

Tiago you do reviews so early, I only found out about this set a few days ago and you already have it… I wish LEGO would just give me legos for free like they do for you

Perfect for a work from home office decor

Having acquired the orchid now, I have to say it's absolutely beautiful in person, but the build process was easily my most tedious LEGO experience so far. Assembling the pot with all the little studs to attach the panels was super boring, and putting together each flower only got more and more annoying with each one. Definitely not the type of set I'm tempted to take apart and reassemble over and over as a fidget, which is perfectly fine since it's so beautiful. Thankfully it's less tedious to try out different flower arrangements, since the flowers are already assembled by the time you'd want to give that a go. I do wish the instruction booklet had more detailed images of the suggested alternate arrangements, though. I found a couple of them to be prettier than the default and really wished I could build them without guessing on certain aspects, like where all the bends are on the stems that are obscured by the flowers themselves. I know the idea is for me to customize the arrangement myself, which I did try doing, but it didn't end up looking as nice as the ones in the booklet, and I ended up reverting to the default. Overall I'd say it was well worth the money, and the end result justified the boring build. I might try an alternate build with it down the line, maybe in combination with the bonsai or the succulents, but I don't look forward to putting all those stud pins back in.
