Printing lots of random shapes and sizes has got to be hard and expensive. I don’t understand the sticker hate. Yeah, they’re a little tedious to apply, but they give the builds a much more life-like appearance.
It's because in oldschool sets everything used to always be printed, it's an obvious cost saving measure at the cost of quality. All the stickers, paired with moving production from Denmark to China while demanding a higher premium price (yes even corrected for inflation, Lego has become more expensive over the years) is just not a good look. Competing companies like Cobi show that it can be done at a more reasonable price, without stickers or other loss in quality and without producing in China. The other side of the coin is that the average consumer doesn't know/care. Because of their super strong brand, Lego still are and probably will forever be absolutely dominant in terms of market share, so arguably they would be crazy for not maximasing profits in this way.
As someone who owns this set (and wishes the pieces were printed) I'll admit this looks fuuuuucking dumb without the stickers. Why have you done this lol
This set is FAR superior to the Minifigure scale hogwarts sets that go together. It looks complete - even tho it’s only half of the castle it still looks complete and a nice solid build
Hm i agree with it being bad when you cant tell what it is without stickers. Why even use stickers instead of printing it. I have little to non experiance with small stickers on toys etc. but I do know its a pain to apply them sometimes. god forbid you have stickers missing or apply them wrong or crooked. Still if i get this set which i hope i will soonish, I will be using every sticker.
Very surprised you criticised that sticker in the official lego set on the blue 2x2 square tile lol. I looked back at it 3 times, it looks only off by 1/2 a millimetre it do. It looks lined up along the bottom properly though for some reason.
Why doesn't lego print the stickers on thicker stock? Surely that is the best compromise than printing. That thin stock just obliterate / crackle after a few years.
So how much are you planning on selling the nano figures still sealed for? It’s really easy for you to say “it’s easy to just print on flat tiles”. It’s sad that you are only into LEGO for the financial value of it.
I saw it at Disney Springs before it was released and I was planning on buying it when I got back from vacation, but I just kinda fell out of love with it. I guess it’s pretty neat, but it’s not for me. If they would’ve made a massive hog warts that was minifigure scale, then I would get it. The micro scale is just disappointing
Thats how i felt too, when i first heard i was excited but then i saw the micro and i was out. Its still better than the new cloud city imo though. I’ll be waiting for the new modular i guess
Yeah, I get what you’re saying, but I’m not sure if that’s the case. Here’s what I think would work. Lego makes a $500 modular build of Hogwarts. I think lego could do a ton with this and make the full model with a bunch of awesome scenes. For example, they could make the basilisk chamber detachable from the lower part of the castle and make it about the size of Rancor’s pit, but longer instead of taller as the basilisk’s dimensions are different. Now this is a bit far fetched, but lego has done this before; I’d say make a second giant Hogwarts set to add on to the first like. Similar to the ninjago city sets. If it’s impossible to have the complete build in one set, then they can definitely do it in two and make them both complete builds. Overall, $700-$800 for the entire set. Maybe a bit too much? For some, probably. But considering this price is from two sets combined, it’s a much more digestible price. If lego could pull off both sets being complete on their own, then I think this overall set could be astonishing. What do you think of this?
If you don’t put the stickers in tower it could be any towers but with the stickers you know it’s from Harry Potter i5 just looks stupid without stickers
I have worked on the harry potter line for the past 2 months. You think we should have printed most decals but we give enough prints. 52 microfigs in total (maybe more or less) and it isn't cheap to mass produce these printed pieces.
explain that to the minecraft sets explain, how every minifigure, even in the cheapest sets can be printed let's say 3 prints for a minifigure of a 6€ set: if so, there were capacity for 200 prints…
This is just sad complaining about stickers, they can’t design in such a small space. It’s more expensive for lego to make prints making it more expensive for us, such an entitled arguement
Easily the most annoying review I've seen for this set. You knew the set came with stickers before you got it. If it's that much of a deal breaker, just sell it to someone who really wants it.
How not? It's got the biggest piece count ever with 7,500 pieces. Edit: which version you mean? The 2007 version (5,500 parts) or the 2017 version (7,500 parts)?
@@mauga1trick205 aaaah, but that doesn't count as an official Lego set (at least in my opinion). It's just a multi-set pack (like TLG used to do some years ago with City sets)
Yeah A lot of people don't count this as a set in my opinion it is the biggest ever I think brickset might have a set number possibly but thanks for your opinion
Annoying negative review of a great castle! The only one I agree with is that the clock should have a sticker or a printed tile. Cheer up buddy, boring negative review.
Yeah should stop saying stickers in all your videos had to stop watching after 2 mins sure you said sticker another thousand times maybe get rid of this video and put the stickers on!
