I think the use of the new large wheels to give it a proper 4-6-0 arrangement makes it a better set for me, so I guess a "emerald night" style would be best.

Thanks for the comparison between the 2010 and 2018 sets. We're in the middle of a lego train Renaissance! I currently have the 2010 HP train and my brother wants the 2018. We have a motor on the way and have to decide which to motorize. You've helped me decide the 2010 deserves to be motorized and the 2018 can complement the 2010.

Agreed. I don't like the awkward bogie gap for the 2010 locomotive.

Looking at your stats for prices, and that you said that it may go on discount sometime in the future. To date (October '19), the prices in shops in Europe, are even higher and go from 90€ to 100€. If I were to buy from Bricklink + calculating the postage fee for shipping to Serbia, it turns out the same as buying in shop.

Theodore-Bor I bought it for 56€ from lego+ free Gift and im from Germany. Ive Never Seen one over retail 89.99€ so were du you buy?????

@@dididon4120 -> I bought one in the offical store when I was in Spain for 90€. I wanted to buy by bricklink from a store in Slovenia, it was 91€, in a certified store in Belgrade, the price was 102€. Les than a week ago, I was in Rome, went to a certified store and it was 85€. Still If I were to buy from Germany or another country, I would have paid the shipping costs. You are the lucky ones!

I got the 2018 for Christmas and I’m glad I finally have a train and I love the type 1 coach but I genuinely dislike how fat and short and lack of technic connecting rods as well as how short the tender was

When you moved your camera to the overhead position, the audio is poor. Recommend that you not rely on the camera mic and instead use a lavalier (lapel) microphone clipped to your shirt. Or a headset type that places the mic next to your mouth. It's easy to sync the audio from a lapel mic to the video in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.

I think currently as an investment, nothing can really compete with the Saturn V. It's a timeless, beautiful set. It's an exclusive, has high demand and will probably have it after it's retired. Almost 2000 pieces and 1m high for 120$. That's a really good deal considering that Lego isn't cheap nowadays, this is a real diamond amongst all these overpriced sets..

Everything but the engine looks better than this new one. Copy and paste the engine from the new set with the old train car setup... Yummy

I personally think all of them are terrible. Lego can't get the sizes, number of cars and the accuracy right on the Hogwarts train I've seen other people doing mocs that are so much better than this.

Well I think this is still a play set, not a collector's set, so they need to be able to make it affordable. It would be nice if Lego made a collector's set but obviously it would be way more expensive.

terrible play set, can`t sit the figures down or have the trolley lady in the carriage without removing the wall?! too narrow. glad i skipped on all of the harry potter sets from this wave, i want them for investment though lol
