They did have an 8 stud wide Speed Champions version of this car as well, strangely also in white. Getting all the angles in the back in that scale was very satisfying.
A absolutely catastrophe!! The twin tires 😂, the yellow color 😂 It’s not white. This is a shame Lego. A iconic from my childhood and you destroy it!! A shame Lego.
Sorry, but double rear tires on a (super) sports car are just nuts. Would love to see them on a truck or farmer vehicles (where we won't get them) but here it is just cheap. Well, at least LEGO realised that the signature colour of Lamboghini is yellow. And so this set contains fifty shades of yellow - but surely no white... This 180,- Euro set is equal to 180 punches right there where it hurts most.
One thing I'm noticing in your review is how poor some of the color matching is between white bricks. I don't have this issue with any of my older lego sets from the 90s and 2000s
I am unfortunate enough to own the Lamborghini Sian and the mismatch on the nose which I look at every time I walk by annoys me. Lego's QC is substantially worse now and prices keep climbing
Yeah Lego's white is particularly bad. And that's only talking about the out of the box matching. Just wait for a year and all those different bricks will yellow at different paces too...
I think the Speed Champions version was a better value and still a great build. They got a lot right here, but the finished build doesn't look as good as the SC version.
the shaping look really good but the main issue is the size. Take a look at pics of the real car and you’ll see that the LEGO taillights are just too big
@@andyf1880Precisely, I want to like this set so badly, because I can see that a lot of thought and intricate techniques have been put into the model to recreate the features of such an iconic car - and in that respect the designers have done a phenomenal job. Still, the overall proportions just look IMO somewhat off and that unfortunately is a dealbreaker.
Just leave it for half a year and it will be yellow. Albeit very likely not very evenly 🤣🤣. Like my Storm Trooper Brickhead thing.... Lego's white is atrocious in both matching between bricks and in how badly it ages. Be prepared to dip the thing into hydrogenperoxide at least once a year to keep it at least somewhat whiteish.
@@HuyV weird cuz i own an all white Lego ninjago set for 3 years and it’s still kept its colour and i haven’t even used any chemicals to clean it. It honestly depends on the environment in where you keep ur Lego sets
I was surprised when you said that the model had everything someone could expect in terms of features, yet it has gotten a fairly amount of criticism for lacking pop-up headlights, the trunk in the back, a representation of a rear view window, fenders being off, the usage of extra wheels, too thick pillars, missing window framing in the doors, missing space for spare tire in frunk, too big tail lights, odd placement of the steering wheel, dashboard messing up gauges, too rectangular in the front, too steep of a hood and wrong transition between hood and window of the side profile. I didn’t notice you criticizing this model at all except for the pop-up lights missing, overall you seem really satisfied (disregarding the price). Do you have any comments about the faulty findings? Were the expectations for representing such a detailed car in Lego too high?
No, lots of us think that and are shocked that the creator was able to do that with so many limitations compared to this official set that had fewer limitations
Lego still need to complete the games console holy trinity, they have Sega licensing but we still have no MegaDrive/Genesis or Master System to complete the set
@maxmuller4124 I know that's what you said I was replying with a more in depth awnser to the person that originally asked the question and tbh it would just give kego snother excuse to make the price higher
Apparently, a lot of people seem to strongly disapprove of this model. Personally, I kinda like this Countach. I do think Lego has done a better job with other models, such as the Mustang and the 911, but I still think they did a good job with this one. Yes, I did buy it since I love the Icons/Creator Expert vehicles. We’ll see if my opinion remains the same after I’m finished with the build. Happy building, friends.
I feel the saving grace of the higher price is unlike previous Icons models there aren't any unnecessary customizable options or alternate builds taking away from the overall piece count when the model is finished. The Mustang, and I think Defender are the only models you can display fully customized if you choose to while the Porsche, and even Camaro leave quite a bit left over. The Corvette from last year was already a step in the right direction as is this most recent Lamborghini. Price is still a bit outlandish, but given the full piece count of the build, and printed pieces it already feels like a much better value than Creator/Icons vehicles.
This will probably be my Black Friday buy of 2024. Always have had a soft spot for the classic Lambo's (mostly Diablo but definitely also the Countach) and this has to be hands down one of the best sets in terms of how closely it resembles the real thing. Awesome job!
Still a bit mixed feelings. Most of it looks really good, some proportions aren't quite perfect but we gotta remember this is still Lego. The sides look a bit flat to me,, and combined with the thick window frames make the car as a whole look a bit bulky. My biggest issue however are the rear wheel arches. On the real car that has such an iconic shape, but here they didn't even do an attempt to recreate that. Dare I say I would have preferred the LP 400 version, which could probably have been done more accurately? Price is pretty bad too, but at least no ugly stickers this time.I'll wait for a nice discount....
Not a cars collector myself, but I have to say these icons cars are looking better and better, with greater challenges in terms of angles from model to model.
I was honestly really looking forward to this, but I'm not impressed with it. I'm not sure what kills it for me, but I think it's death by a thousand cuts. The stand out issue I have with it, is the front end of the car. It should taper inwards slightly, but instead it's completely rectangular. It really throws off the entire model for me.
Hey Tiago, I love the Lego icons sets a lot! I know you love the Concorde and just wanna hear your thoughts on this. Would you like to see Lego make a Boeing 747 set? It would look great next to the Concorde in its first flight paint job!
I really like the Lego icons big scale cars. This Countach looks so accurate and amazing, but the biggest flaw of the set was the dual wheels for the back. It looks like something that belongs on a off road truck. Why couldn’t they make a new wheel and tire for the back?
Great video as always Tiago! I have so far resisted picking up any of the large scale car sets aside from the DeLorean, but I’m pretty sure this one will be joining it on my shelves!🤔
Love it! Absolutely legendary car. Shame about the lack of pop-up lights though. I am hoping we get a new big F40 again in range, I know theres a Speed Champ coming so hopefully one day.
I really want it, to display next to my other Lego Creator / Lego Icons cars like this that I already own, BUT.... The price is fkn disgusting. No way, Lego.
"it looks amazing" and see this is where I disagree :) it just feels off somehow, I guess many small details that lead to it looking like a Countach from Wish ...
The twin tires are outrageous! Is this a tractor? The price is way way too high. The colour is not white, its a smoker yellow. The product is just embarassing. People who buy this are just stupid in my opnion. There is a similar version form mould kind for just the half of the price.
This Dude was definetly paid to review this. The model and accuracy is absolutely terrible. A yellow-ish white, the tires is an embarassing and the overall profile is wrong from the original. Oh, and dont get me started on the price. DONT BUY THIS.
All those brand new pieces and printed tiles throughout and you still think it’s overpriced??? I beg to differ! It’s obvious where the costs are coming from
Hi all please allow me to be a little off topic but a Big Shout Out to Tiago who was at the Chicago area lego convention. He was super nice guy. Thanks Tiago!!!
Has anyone at lego considered the repercussions of having too many different pieces? Being a Moc builder and trying to keep all these parts on hand is driving me mad.
Look Tiago I love your content and straight up reviews and the especially the content on sets and themes you personally buy. But on sets received from LAN you can't really comment on value because of the obvious. You didn't purchase it. Truth. We need higher standards in the community and positivity for Lego fandom. Point out the good and the bad like you do and leave value and purchasing decisions to us after you show off a fine build like that countach. Great video!!!
