In addition to a pop of color, adding in different color bricks and plates helps give a more realistic image of light and shadow on the mountain. Have you considered playing with a few black pieces in the deeper crevasses? Not a lot, you don't want to overwhelm. But a black cheese slope here and there under an overhang or tucked into a corner of dark gray might add some more depth.

Fantastic idea! I’ll definitely try that.

I’m really digging your use of small plates and round plates. They really add to and break up the texture/color of the burps! Also your mountains are legendary! Your new “modular” approach is a fascinating concept for such large structures. Can’t wait to follow along as you develop this project!

I think some of the dark colours such as dark tan, reddish-brown, old brown, possibly dark orange, could add some texture to the rock itself. On the mountain I think a scree slope in a mix of darker colours might work better than the LBG. But most rockwork isn't just bare rock, and unless it's completely shear you get stuff growing on it or training down it. Again for that maybe some variation including dark green would provide some interest without appearing too bright.

Hi! Try also earth green, or military green chees slopes when colouring the rocks.

I keep getting the feeling of burn out but i finally figured out that what it really is, is that my building space was too cluttered and the mess turned me off from the idea of building. Im currently in my Lego room pulling out everything so i can move around the table layout and find my inner happiness 😂
@MrBookieboo

That’s a very real thing. My room has become so cluttered, especially my build table. I think I need to take some time to clear things up too.

@@hoarder66 this is incredibly real! I have to do a clean up and reset every 3 build sessions or, once I "finish" a stage of a project to clear the mind and Lego space 😅

So glad that not only am I not the only one to feel this way but that u two both commented back agreeing so quickly which leads me to believe that many if not all people feel this way. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback

mmm yes texturing - I usually can crack the code on an area in 3-4 passes/attempts/redos. I honestly have a hard time commiting to any detail texturing on landscaped mils till the adjacent mils are also in place to really see how it'll all blend together. So in your example I don't think I would know till I can see the lower mils that will be around the base BUT I do appreciate these are a bit more stand alone, right?
@MrBookieboo
@MrBookieboo Месяц назад
Yes, this is intended to be a standalone piece that also happens to integrate into the overall city. I get what you’re saying about the overall picture - that makes a lot of sense. I may need to get the remaining plates setup to start layering the whole thing at once. Great suggestions!
