The Ideas Saturn V remains, to this day, one of my Favorite LEGO sets. I really want to buy the Artemis, but I can't afford it just yet. But this video is very helpful for determining how space the Artemis takes up comparatively. I want to have eventually a whole shelf dedicated to NASA and other Space Agencies.
As a huge fan of the Apollo, I want to like this set but I just can't. The launch tower is impressive, but at twice the price of the Apollo with a much smaller rocket, I just can't get behind it.
So even though Lego has put out a bunch of space sets since the Saturn V, they have never made any sets two sets in the same scale! Curiosity rover was 1: 20, Saturn V was 1:110, ISS was 1:220, LEM was 1: 45, Shuttle Discovery was 1:70 (maybe the Ulysses GWP counts but it was rather poorly proportioned and not super accurate) and the SLS is now 1:160.
I wish they had kept the same scale, then sell the tower separate. Have the tower work for both. Then they could do a shuttle with the rockets and the tank, that would also fit the tower.
Well Saturn V looks more epic, has historic value in itself. And has micro Lunar Lander and Apollo Module. So it deserves my money and place in my space flight lego collection.
I'm glad that it's not scaled the same because that would've increase the price by 300 dollars. Remember that if you scale up the rocket, you would also have to scale up the launch tower as well.
Pretty cool they are starting to release more sets in 1:160 N scale. This is an awesome scale particularly for railway models. It's all coming together now❤
Hi Jang, watching your Videos for a long time now. I think, if Lego made a Launch Tower for the Saturn as well, they would sell a lot. Never understod, why they never did one. Anyway, greetings from Austria, and i am looking forward for your next Videos!
Were people really complaining that Lego is "charging more for a smaller rocket"? That's so silly IMO. It's almost like some Lego "fans" just ignore half of what they see just so they have something to complain about.
I don't make up fan comments. Ever. If I could bend the world to my will, everyone would think before they speak and use logic and reason, and also not make stuff up just to spread negativity in online comments.
Thank you for this very useful comparison! 👍🦖👍 I´m so glad I have at least one of these beautiful pieces of space exploration history. I guess we´ll see many more real rockets and spaceships from Lego. So the Artemis might not be the most spectacular one of this century and I don´t need to buy it, wooo 🤔
the Saturn V is still and will probably forever remain as the best Lego set ever. size, Price, detail, playability...EVERYTHING IS JUST AMAZING and pretty much perfect!!! the SLS can't compete with that, sorry.
