holy shitttt Kai's entrance hit just as hard as him taking on cinder in S2 Part 1. "DONT YOU DARE TOUCH HER! that's my sister.." that line couldn't have been executed any better. They fixed kai they actually did it, they ruined him so early on in the ninjago saga and they finally fixed, making him actually GROW. Sure it didn't make any sense but with how amazing the scene and especially animation was, I don't even care for once. I would be lying if i said I haven't rewatched that scene maybe 10 times a day ever since it released, as a proud kai fan since the pilot this engulfs my heart in a fiery flame 🔥
I think this guy doesnt know that sets dont have to be accurate.bc sometimes sets are inspired by show or show is inspired by sets and sometimes they even make sets based of concept art.and the zane bike is pretty aforrdable for kids and cool as a sets.perhaps in the concept zane had to take part in the race so dont insult one of the best ninjago waves ever
The way Cole and Zane lost was so stupid. Renowned ninja warriors with atleast 10 years of experience holding elements that make up creation itself losing to some bums who got their elements 2 days ago is crazy. Even then I can give Cole’s loss a little pass even though it was kinda bull given his circumstances. But Zane’s ice melted a little fast, and he just fell over like a joke 😭
@@Revengeoftheblacklagoon well there is a reason for that. Blekt had the games rigged in Ras’ favor. Thus, he made Zane’s ice melt faster than it should have. But yeah…. A Ninja who battled an all powerful overlord of pure darkness and defeated him by sacrificing himself lost to a guy who can move a little faster? That’s cap
@@BendyScholar39i agree with this tbh even if zane’s ice did melt fast he shouldve actually locked in instead of standing still and being a dumbass Im sure the smartest ninja could come up with a strategy to overcome this
Saying DRS2P1 is the worst piece of Ninjago media is insane. Are you forgetting that Crystalized, Day of the departed, and Hands of time exist? And even then, Part 1 isn’t even bad, not at all
I’m pretty sure the LEGO designers make the concepts for the sets first then the writers incorporate it into the show and expand it for a better setting. If we go by that logic then almost every Ninjago is would technically be inaccurate. Example: All the bounties being too small, USR not fitting all four ninja in the cockpit, and enter the serpent not being underground. I think it’s perfectly fine for the writers to expand their the designers set ideas to make the show more appealing.
The reason why lloyd is scared is cus his visions are very vivid and hes scared to lose because he wants to feel like a worthy leader i get the jay part but the scared part has a reason
@@aidenkong7441 exactly. you could also pretty much consider that Lloyd's visions are combinations of anxiety and panic attacks, which makes it even better that way. the depiction of mental health is handled so well in dragons rising
Lloyd was dealing with nightmarish visions throughout the entire season. Couple that with responsibilities of being a master, a leader and the chosen one and his behaviour is completely justified. Saying that he gave up is a complete lie. He fought and defeated Zeatrix. He fought Nokt while being injured. And what he decided about Jay makes sense. If they left the tournament, that would mean victory of team Ras and failing task given by source dragon of motion. The choice was basically between finding Jay and saving the universe. He just did the right thing. Those are just some facts
6:41 7:57 I couldn’t agree more on that list. 9:11 like they i’m just gonna say it the elements we had this tournament or a week but I just love watching the fighting scenes but if they were really struggling this bad with elements simple just give us the original elements masters it would’ve been more entertaining to see them again. 20:40 oh really I didn’t even see them to be honest I guess I have to rewatch it 28:20 he’s like fuck this shit I’m out😭 31:23 I LOVE THIS unpopular opinion but I know you agree and I agree as well dragons raising ruined Lloyd’s character. Like you said leader ship sucks like this guy has been through the overlord twice watched his dad come back when he did not want to technically sell his friends died lost his whole power and he’s getting upset over some visions grow up the fact that Nya is being more of a better character/mentor to Lloyd is sad ever since season nine just seems like Nya it’s not there it’s like no one can control Lloyd
Just wanna say hope my comment was not too much but I love how I have a Ninjago RU-vidr who can actually understand how it is because every time I talk about how I think about it no one agrees with me as much
Your comment was not too much at all!!! I love reading through everyones comments. Im glad you can relate to my content too, its nice to find people that have the same opinions as you :)). Thank you for supporting my channel and Im so glad to have you here in my community.
I was wishing the whole time when Jay was leaving that at least Zane (who had no powers at that point) would run to catch him and do something. At least leave for him and leave the situation like that until the next season, but no they didn't thought about that. This and they way they handled Arin at the end are my only complains about this season.
As the leader of the team Lloyd knew that Ras was using Jay as a ploy to split up the ninja. What you described was a split of the ninja team. I think Lloyd made somewhat of a right decision. Just a thought, if you were Lloyd in that position you would be cowering in fear crying and pooping your pants. Lloyd handles it like a champ.
@@Caden-zb6hk no lloyd didn't knew stop babying Lloyd he doesn't care bro when Kai comes kai ho only said "Kai" and that's it he doesn't hug kai or does anything this thing isn't lloyd 😭
@@Ima_bnslmfirst of all, fix your grammar, second, Lloyd’s character in DR is definitely way better than at least the 11 minute era, it’s really refreshing. Put yourself in Lloyd’s shoes: Experiencing visions of horrible things happening to you and your friends/family and finding out that some of those visions are inevitable, on top of that you’re balancing that with training new students while also making sure they don’t get themselves killed, focusing on taking on the role of becoming a master and much more. Your oblivious self won’t be able to handle all of that, he’s trying and doing great.
About the tournament temple city, they sets are made before the show and the show is based on the sets so I guess they show writers just wanted a different look
The element power of Shockwave actually is a reference to Shocker' from Spiderman The elemental powers may seem lame until you give them thought Plants im 90% is just Nature The elemental master of fusion is actually busted because he can fuse ANYTHING together only he can seperate which allows him to make specific tools and cover Balance is actually a very misunderstood power, it means you NEVER can lose balance, so you cant ever be tripped, pushed over, fall off of anything, with zero side effects. Surface tension is more useful than it appears, think of a knife or bullet, if you can change the surface tension it can make it virtually infective, like armor Size is basically ant man The dash one i think actually skips time shortly, like Hit from Dragon Ball Reflex i need them to explain because it might be a renamed Speed like how they renamed Lloyd's "Power' to "Energy" or "Light" The lamest power might be Sora's because there's been times her power does literally nothing because stuff is too old. In an environment with old technology, she's useless. Master of Quake is 100% lame Zane is getting master of Frost or something
There devil fruit powers from one piece. I love it. Quake has the ability to be the strongest power if we look at one piece and white beard having the same powers coming from his Quake Quake fruit
I really enjoyed the season. Definitely a step down from part 1 but this had a lot of set up for the future. The only part I actually hated was the race, like we have one every season and it is getting annoying. Ras was a spectacular villain, Arin is great and his betrayal doesn’t seem forced like other betrayals in media, it came very naturally. Sora is also great and she deserved that win, also can’t wait for her to use actual spinjitzu. Nokt and the forbidden five were kind of boring to me. Nokt has a bad design, no personality and super boring motivation (being evil for the sake of being evil) and I am kind of dreading that we will have 5 people still using the same technique, a technique we have seen for two seasons in a row and that already has a counter that almost all ninja (except of two ninja). Jay was disappointing and he was so weak, like he was using everything, while Nya was holding back so much. Also you saying that Lloyd is now a crybaby is very very disrespectful to everyone who has mental issues like depression and anxiety. How would you feel knowing that all of the terrible visions you are seeing are coming true? Also don’t you remember the first ever vision Lloyd saw? Yeah gravestones with ninja masks. And the show is doing a great job at representing mental problems, you can’t automatically heal them, you have to live and accept them until they go away someday. You saying that Lloyd is not a great role model and that he doesn’t get up and moving is completely wrong. Lloyd has accepted his visions and he is not giving up. And being a good leader is sacrificing his own needs (saving Jay and Arin) and continuing the mission that will save the world. Like I get you not liking the way the writers have chosen to send his character forward but the words you chose are honestly very disrespectful to people who suffer from stuff like this. People who accept their mental health problems and still fight like Lloyd does are not cowards and are great role models. Except of this thing that needs addressing (because I don’t think you really meant it like it sounded) good video and you had some good points.
I honestly didn't like wildfyre until this part, wildfyre and roby together was funny, and it was honestly adorable. Kai also slaps this season, his entrance was insane and sooner then expected. I really dig the drama with some characters in this part, probably why I mainly like it
I don’t really get the hate you hate for the “filler” like every season of Ninjago had filler. Season 1 and 2 had way too much, season 6 also has, s7, s11, s13, s14, crystalized all have more filler than all parts of dragons rising plus most filler looking scenes in dragons rising set up things for the future. Like for example in dragons rising season 1 part 2 everything in the administration is a set up for the future. Ninjago has always had filler and most seasons have had way more unnecessary filler than Dragon’s rising
TBF I don't think he understands the concepts of set up and pay off. I feel its some of the most important parts in story telling. I really like the first episode becasue it sets up the conflict perfectly. Someone is killing the Arc Dragons. That person is not Rapton. The person killing them is at the tournament of the sources and only wants their crowns. Why is that? Their is also a baby Arc Dragon, Hope, But there is only so much time before the killer attempts to go after the baby. You see it sets up the mystery of it all and adds stakes too. Crunching all of that into 2 minutes of exposition would be one of the worst possible things ever.
He says no one likes rapton I’ve seen people really like him just because he doesn’t like him, doesn’t mean he can go around telling people that no one likes him because that’s not true
Huh. This is pretty much the exact opposite of my opinions. Part 2 was really a let-down to me personally. Especially with Jay's arc. The way they were minimally showing his appearances, I thought he was actually going to be built up to be a strong contender in the Tournament of the Sources, serving Ras, ultimately being redeemed by Nya through his regained memories. Turns out he was there for half an episode and then was sent away by Ras. Also, although I didn't like it and I wish Lloyd would have won, Sora winning the tournament is something that makes sense from a marketing perspective, giving the new main character a chance to shine. I also really like that there is a stark contrast between Arin and Sora. He was the biggest fanboy of the ninja before realising that they could not provide for him what Lord Ras could, and so he ditches the ninja in the end. Whereas she knew next to nothing about the ninja before developing her own elemental powers and becoming a true ninja, even winning a tournament against the all the big guys. Speaking of Arin, I still dislike his character. He comes off as super whiny just because he lacks an elemental power, which NO ONE ever gave him crap for. About the new elemental masters, the new made-up ones don't really bother me. It reminds me of Lorien Legacies when the Human Garde in the book series developed the alien powers. However, some of the elemental masters in the background were never introduced and that bothers me. Since they were in Tournament uniforms and were present in the city, they had to Masters. But why did they never compete, like the guy with the beard and Nadakhan cut. Or the guy in the wheelchair which I took to be virtue signaling. The Forbidden Five were by far the most disappointing part of the season, their return had been built up to be the next biggest thing to happen since Lord Garmadon's resurrection, but Nokt was honestly a subpar villain, and Rox was also really underwhelming. The other three were literally dead once they got out of the portal, although I am expecting more development for them. It just sucks that they basically did nothing, even with that one flashback we saw which was really interesting but was never expanded upon further. Lloyd's master/tournament robes I actually really liked, but yeah, switching back to the climber suit at the end was weird. Overall I think Part 2 was a solid 6.5/10, visuals carried and like you said, Kai's entrance was the stuff of legends.
One thing I will ALWAYS respect about you is your honesty, even if I don’t always agree with your opinions I still have massive respect for you!. Editing was great as well!. 🤝 But for actually discussion, when it comes to the whole “inaccurate set” thing I believe sets are designed first, I kinda forgive the source dragon because the thrown definitely makes it more fun for kids, when it come to tournament temple city, set came first so the SHOW SHOULD HAVE RESEMBLED THE SET but BIGGER!. I blister pack of two EMs and two wolf worriors would also be great, then I’d switch the Zane bike to another location with Zane and one of the EMs so we ACTUALLY get a couple!. 💡🧪💭🔮 When it comes to powers and elementals, I absolutely agree that they should have been properly introduced like TOE!. I also agree about sending Nya and Zane after Jay. When it comes to elements I think we DID need some new ones, but something better then what they did, like Sand instead of Quakes or Illusions instead of figment ect. 🏜️ 👥 Great video U!, have a great day
I think for me my perspective Lloyds story in part 1 worked for me because he eventually rose above it and i thought it was gonna show Lloyd still having the visions and having a different reaction now. Mental health obviously isn't something you can fix with the flip of a switch and it's something you can rise above it and do better and make your life better. It was really disappointing to see him just continue to have the same exact reactions as he did in part 1. I dont hate it to the degree of you but i think its a massive mistep for me as someone who was actually connected to Lloyds story in part 1. I think this is definitely the strongest narrative out of every dragons rising outing overall. But honesty i still think i had a more enjoyable time with part 1. I think part 1 suffers alot from that one i can't say her name for the life of me but the girl with the annoying voice who made bonzel and just the whole episode with funny magic man just haulted the pacing but episodes like episode 7 i genuinely adore and i think the hype moments in part 1 work for me better. Everything in season 2 was good overall but it never managed to achieve those same highs for me. Maybe its cause i had sky high expectations but honestly kinda disappointed but also not because i still enjoyed this season overall. As for my input on jay i just don't care enough about him to be upset by all the blue balling of his character appearing. Even as a child i never liked jay. I think he has some of the best suits in the franchise but he was always my least favorite main character and sue me but i just ABOUT put all the new main characters over him aswell from dr outside of a few. I think the story direction and set up for season 3 is interesting but they will never be able to satisfy everyone. As for what i want from season 3 I'll list it off in points I want a interesting dynamic between arin and ras. Now that lord ras is without everything i want to see how he feels and get a look inside his character outside of the generic evil guy stuff. The voice for ras is very menacing so the potential is there but i just want something more with him. Finally address the cole and geo stuff Look im not here to say cole should be gay or not but leaving hints is only gonna make everything else worse and continue to divide people. At this point either double down or say it's not like that. I don't think its ruining the show like many people are saying and it hardly feels forced as there's barely any screetime for it but i think an answer would be beneficial. I know previously i said I don't care for jay but i do want a story of nya and kai actually going after him. The potential is huge. Continue to develop sora and this time maybe flip the switch have arin be all confident now and have sora be all down because of arin. And I can't believe im saying this but i want jordana back. They made me do a complete 180 on her character. She was laughably bad in part 1 and stupid in part 2 of season 1 and in season 2 shes just different and i really enjoyed her. So i want her back Overall i enjoyed it..i am a big fan of Dragons rising so far i think ive fallen off tremendously of season 1 but i still enjoy it for what its doing and providing a better time after the disaster that is crystalized. Overall for season 2 Part 1 9/10 Part 2 8/10 Overall 8.5/10
I feel like season 2 part 2 made lord raz like kinda stupid that he didnt know Nokt and the other possessed girl left probably multiple times to go hunt and kill the arch dragons? Also raz is against the other four being freed now, sure he wouldn't be able to control them yet he tried to free all five in part 1? And I doubt he had 5 control devices ready to be use on the five in part 1
I give it an 8 out of 10. I liked the season. The only reason it s not a 10 is beautiful of evil. jay feeling like missed potential. I hope we see him again
I'll rate this season 8/10 because of Arin's evil arc. Kai's return and fights Nokt. I wished LEGO could've made Nokt minifigure in the medium sets or small sets. Not Large sets because they will be expensive.
While I indeed agree with you that Lloyd’s character in dragons rising season 2 part 2 was very bad I think Lloyd being afraid could be better in season 2 for the second half. But you have to admit Ras does have the coolest outfits
Shockwave master is introduced its zeatrix from flashback in season 1. And its the power to push people off also kai wasnt there and Lloyd is the master of energy not power
W take fr. I was very conflicted with ur previous DR reviews but now i totally agree. But i feel like zanes massive L is barely even touched. He literally could have frozen the floor and that guy would slip off like a banana peel before bleck could react or interfere. Like wtf r u doing ur a freaking robot 😭
In my opinion it’s so chaotic and dissapointing. The Dialogues are just mostly exposition and exposition. The new elemental powers are meh. I mean bubbles? balance? shockwave like seriously? And also the element of quakes is like heat a complete copy of earth but they try defending that by letting the characters say something like „uH bUt ArEn‘T tHeY tEcHnIcHalLy tHe sAmE eLeMeNt? wHaTs tHe dIfFeReNcE?“ They just put so many plot lines like zeatrix, who killed the dragons, who wants to attack the source dragons, Arin thinking about joining ras, the tournament, the forbidden five etc. and they all get finished in the finale which feels completely rushed. Jay was such a disappointment. He was just their for like 2 minutes and gets completely done dirty and they try to explain you so fast how he joined ras. Honestly he should have beaten Nya and should have gone to next round I mean like seriously why do the writers still not want bring him back. I can see all the evil Jay fans saying that he will be absolutely menacing being now so disappointed. Speaken of beaten making Zane and Cole losing their first fights because of little manipulation of the games was such a bad idea. They literally had nothing to do then except for like the last 2 episode maybe. The whole wolf clan blood moon and Kai’s sacrifice didn’t even have to do anything anymore in the 2 part and at the end Kai is like just back and that’s it. Ras master wasn’t important anymore. Basically the whole first part didn’t have a role besides the forbidden five. And I don’t know if this is a controversial take but the way they introduced the source dragon of motion was so bad. The ninja see a literal source dragon in person and are first like „uh you don’t look like a source dragon“ then it gets bigger and they are like 😐. And what triggered me the most was Arin. I’m sorry I know a lot of ninjago fans say that’s part of his character development but that was just dumb. Ras tells him that Wu caused the merge and so the ninja are evil because it’s now their fault that his parents are gone. And the main reason because he joins ras is that Sora lied to him that it was her who moved the object and not him and he now cry’s about that and hates her. She literally had to do it or else Nya would be gone too and she just wanted him to feel happy. And in the end he joins ras because he knows where his parents are because of jay and he could help him find them so in the end he turns into anakin Skywalker is like „I need him“ and runs away and he was somehow able to free ras from the forbidden five. WTF! If you want your parents back just search for Jay and try to get the information from him. There still some things I did like. Ninjago getting a bit more darker and using the words death and killed more often. Riyu being more threatend as a character and not just being the cute little dragon and giving him more character development by letting the matriarch die. Nokt being a complete menace and that he doesn’t like to work with ras. Zane learning rising dragon technique (why didn’t Cole learn it?). And also wildfire becoming more human. However it is what it is and we now have to wait another 7 month (or maybe just 2 month because who knows maybe it will be released sooner anyway) for the next season. I give dragons rising season 2 in a whole a 6/10. edit: I also didn’t like that the whole tournament was manipulated, like bro give us atleast a fair normal tournament where every ninja at least glazes for one time and wins at least one fight but no it has of course to be manipulated again, because PLOT TWIST.
@@Kain_3 great points in this comment man. I don’t really dive into Aron’s character in this video but you are absolutely right. I know I talked about it in the live last night but damn did he switch up on the ninja FAST.
@@doubleubricks yeah I also didn’t like how the way he did a fully Spinjitzu tornado for the first time. I thought he would get an epic moment were has to save Sora or smth and would do a fully Spinjitzu tornado for the first time, but NO he unlocks it by simply talking to his old friend in an unepic moment. But hey his Spinjitzu tornado had some shatterspin effects so maybe he did something like dark Spinjitzu by unlocking Spinjitzu trough ras way and not Lloyd’s way.
Yeah, this guy is bullshitting. Part one of season 2 was great. ALL of dragons rising has been great actually. The only part I didn’t like was with Rapton.
@@doubleubricks I’m not trying to start anything, I’m just saying it feels like you’re being overly negative and hateful over the Season 1 and Season 2 Part 1. That’s all.
Let me ask you this: What elemental powers would you come up with? I'll admit some of the new ones we see here are dumb but that's most likely because all the good ones were already taken. And it would be boring if it were the same elemental masters competing in both the ToE and the ToS just with the additions of water, ice, wind, tech and fusion.
How? It’s the only season that doesn’t stop every 15 minutes for an unstoppable side quest. It’s a story that actually uses the time and is entertaining
One thing that really bothers me is that why there were so many people in the city but only like 7 new elemental masters and also the fights between them were so quick like compered to S4 the fights there were more interesting. And also the ending is trash like you are just stretching the lore for no reason. I wish it was perfect but its not and its sad... Edit: Just watched your vid and I wish there werent these why is this happening moments. Even tho "ITs AiMeD aT KiDs" its still should be watchable for teens...
