Very good set... FYI, the weird angles at the back (when looking side on) are very accurate to the 'real' Falcon, ie, it shouldn't be perfectly flat/levelled... I may have to fork out another $250 😂

I really like this set, it finally looks like what it should. The overall geometry of the ship with regards to how the mandibles connected was something of a dealbreaker for me at the time. If i get this set, i feel i will try to thicken the mandibles so as to minimize the foward gaps and tinker with the inside get a visually more interesting detailing. And for sure wait for some deals😀 Keep it up Jang, your vids are a great help!

In my opinion, the only thing that makes this better than the 2015 one is the exhaust. Blue tiles on top of white makes it look really nice.

If you got rid of the panels on the 2015 one and swapped them with the 2019 one there wouldn’t be any gaps whatsoever and you would have a slightly larger customised Falcon

The only issue I have with this one is the repositioning of the smuggling compartment because that really compromised the level of detail that could be added to the back section of this new model, apart from that it’s perfect.

Just had this built, loved this falcon soooo much! The old ones always put me off with the gaps, where you can see the insides very easily. This one at least covers the top very well. Keep up the good work!

I heavily modified my 2015 version and incorporated an escape module in between the mandible like the solo version ( there is a video to show you how to make this)and closed up all the gaps and made the side cargo doors functional.the only thing I kinda like is the blue exhaust , which I might modify .. or not

Amazing review! And this is undeniably a really good set. The biggest issue for me by far is how thin the front pointy sections are... they really shouldn't be that much thinner than the main circular section itself so it just makes the Falcon look wrong!

Great review, Jang. I especially enjoyed the comparisons between the 2015 version, the one I own now, and this 2019 release. Afteryour video review analysis I've determined that the 2015 version is the far Superior version for myself. I prefer hyper detailed interiors versus a giant area of open-negative space. And that's the thing. The new one has a lot of open space... With absolutely nothing going on in that space. The shape of the new falcon overall is a tad better but not enough for me to re-buy the whole thing. Great review!

@Sonymnms 52 I don't know... You can spend several hundred dollars really easily on BrickLink getting what you need to do just that. I learned that the hard way when I revamped the interior of the old red and gray Jedi cruiser from knights of the old republic. That was epically expensive

Thank you! I despise stickers. they hurt the flexibility of re-use, they get aged and scuffed, they are a pain to put on right, and they create paper waste. No more stickers!

John Nations to be honest most paper can be recycled depending on where you live? If you don’t live in an area that it can be then that sucks but I think the far bigger issue is the plastic badges. At least Lego could offer ziplock bags or something.

Last Millennium Falcon I got was the Empire Strikes Back one that released right when they switched over to skin tones for licensed minifigures, and for a long time, all that followed in this scale used the same basic pizza-slice build. I just picked up this new one and the recently discounted Kessel Run version because both seem to provide a significantly new experience compared to what we were getting. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Definitely going to get this. A few minor mods: tidy up the underside, add a few details to the interior (walls, piping, etc), and add a little dohickey to stop those top plates flapping open when I flip it over, and it'll be perfect.

I'd like to see a printed dish and the mandibles to be say 3 studs longer. The length on the TFA set is better. Great review as always! You do quality work. You're definitely a channel I seek out.

Jang: thank you for the detailed review. Want to add one thing that was missing in new 75257 model. By using the main technic frame on chassis (more rigid boxes), you get a better playability and durability (evidence from you swooshing the falcon). It seems like "Ramp and entrance hatch" was sacrificed/removed

I agree that it is an improvement in all the ways which you pointed out, however I am still not happy with these 3-4 points, and I don’t think it is spot on enough for me to want to own. 1) the lack of details and greebs, could easily help dissolve those colour accents into the grey, and add depth. 2) mandible angles. Still a massive improvement, however I feel they are still a stud or two off with the mandibles slightly too short and wide. Also mandible holes should be detailed instead of empty. This could still be done while allowing for play features? 3) the raised centre part above engine bank.

I recently got a new R2 with the microfighter pack (escape pod and dewback) and.. his head print is perfectly horizontal.. it's perfectly lined up with the rest of his body.. I was speechless

I have the 2017 one and I kinda hate the gaps in between the panels but I love this and if you ever post a building video I will try to fix mine up anyway now I regret getting it( btw the one with the rectangle dishbut I removed it and replace it with a circle)

I will definitely be getting this set once its price is lowered. I have never gotten any of the previous Millennium Falcons so I am looking forward to eventually getting this one. :)
