WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE R2-D2 SET? GOOD? BAD? LET ME KNOW!!!! + This Was One of The Most Time-Consuming Videos to Make on This Channel PLEASE Share it With A Friend So They Can See the New Set Up!
The internal mechanism is definitely complicated, but I thought that was kinda the point. I'm a very experienced builder and had to pay close attention while making it, but it was a super fun challenge and was totally on point for an 18+ set.
Same. I've built a lot of system sets but I had to pay attention with this one and go back to redo part of it when I messed up. It's probably fine for Technic fans
Sorry I’m so late to this But I literally only got This set On Thursday And I Managed to Not mess it up once even though this is my first ever Stars wars build
They don’t do chrome anymore, it scratches and looks pretty bad over time. Of course, chrome could work fine, but it’s not something Lego does anymore. A more reasonable idea was adding R2’s Third leg & periscope to this version.
My walmart , was there just this morning, put out about twenty of these on an end cap in toys, $100 each. Came home and ordered the ko version for half the price off Ali.
A great build. The center section is pretty solid. The head was a little scary to connect. The only issue I have is with the legs. They're a little wobbly. Works great as a static piece. The lightsaber is neat, but difficult to get your hands on it.
It’s a brilliant set, I love all the features it has, but it could use some improvements. I would also like to see an updated BB-8 because it’s a bit too blocky in the head to fit with the new R2. I love lighting in your video too!
Lego really needs to sort their logicists out to ensure people can actually buy the sets they want, within 3 months of it getting released by lego. Lego should know by now that making stuff in the quantities they are making them in at the moment is not sufficient. You either need to up production, start production of relevant lines earlier or make a system change on their website to allow backorders always. Making communication with buyers better would also help with this. These things are easily done and they either don't think there is an issue and that comes off as out of touch or they're uninterested or they're just plain incompetent. They need to fix this issue as it will only get worse if they don't
Thanks for the review it has made me realise that I must have r2d2 in my collection although il probably have to wait a while to get one I’m positive it will be worth the wait thank you and keep up the good work
definitely a stock issue as well only being sent 50 for week 1 (sold out in my store in 5 mins) and 10 for week 2 (that sold out in 15mins) lego need to be making more so the demand is met
Help! The 3rd leg is stuck. I haven't finished R2D2 yet. So I can make changes. It's still open and i get out the 3rd leg if i help it but it Will never work if I finish it..
While I admire the UCS sets for their complexity and the finished look of the set I can't say that they really feature in my most wanted list as opposed to the sets with play features and multiple minifigures. Hence why I probably won't be buying this set. I think the most expensive set I've bought is the new AT-AT (75288). Also my reason for not purchasing the UCS sets is my lack of display space, another reason why I haven't got the MB Mos Eisley Cantina. I'd love that set but it would get built, dismantled and sit in a box forever.
The 3rd leg works fine however when r2 is leaning back and the 3rd leg is out it doesn’t seem to hold its weight. Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it?
Thank you for the review. Does R2-D2's head just sit on top or does it actually attach to the top of the middle internal mechanism some how? Mine does not attach. Thanks in advance.
Hi. Have a question regarding the periscope. I just finished the build and I find that the periscope is not flush with the head when not in use. I have seen some reviews online, and for the most part it looks like it does flush in the head. I don't know if I did something wrong in the process of the build?? Any thoughts?
Personally I'd say yes. I loved that one and ended up buying it a couple of years ago. I built it last summer and I felt bad about replacing it so soon but this one just looks so much better. It has better features, looks more accurate, uses newer building techniques and pieces. Also it looks like it'll work better with BB-8 while the old one was too blocky. I'm almost done building this one and when I'm done, I'm going to sell the old one.
This whining at 5:34 reminds me of the plastic scale modelling. You see, some folks complain there are too many details and a model is too difficult to assemble. I purchased a more simple kit once which they found ok, and had to buy a few add-ons, which resulted in a price close to a detailed set, because the cheaper set had some errors like the wrong tank wheels and no machine gun. I wish I'd just bought a good, more expensive, detailed set sooner. There are good models and there are young kid's toys. But perhaps some kids will be disappointed to find out in the future how dull their non-complex toys are. Same with Lego.
