LEGO Star Wars has a new Sith Infiltrator for 2024 but it has some shortcomings. Starting with the price, $70 is way too high, the Darth Maul Minifigure looks weird, and the ship has some odd landing gear. The highlight has to be the 25th Anniversary Saw Gerrera Minifigure!

Spoke to a local Bricks and Minifigs store owner the other day. He said the set is a Lego and Walmart exclusive. If that's the case, it may be like the Republic Fighter Tank (Lego and Target exclusive), not see many discounts.

Literally my biggest issue with the set, the no pupils I dig it, but there is not a single frame on the whole scene this set represents where Maul doesn't has his hood on. Like I honestly would want this set but I don't have any spare black cape or a single hood to have it as optimal as possible :/

US$70 sets are normally ~AU$120, which is about in line with the conversion rate, but this set is only AU$90, which is baffling considering the US$50 Tantive hallway set is also AU$90. This one is a pretty great deal over here, will definitely be picking it up for May 4th. Joins the list of whacky Australian prices for LEGO Star Wars sets since March.

I'll probably end up getting it since i don't have one. But man it's so upsetting of what could've been. First all the details you mentioned and more. But also the opportunity to make the queens royal ship with maul, his speeder,quigon, anakin and obiwan and recreating the attack scene

the ship itself is a masterpiece with all the techniques and its a accurate shape, figs are nice too (although padme or watto wouldve been nice) so i think the set isnt that horrible or overpriced

They have packed a huge amount of play features into this. A lot of smart choices on the design to get so many functions into a small build. Reminds of what they did with the design of the 75311 Imperial Armored Marauder

I think the set's fine. The only thing I would change is probably that section for the storage, and adding in maybe Obi-Wan or someone else like Panaka. I'l definitely be sticking with the 2021 Darth Maul figure I have just in regards to the head (I swapped it with the 2017 Maul's head as I have an extra). The Saw Gerrera figure looks awesome, and it's so nice seeing a brand-new figure based off of *_Rogue One_* after all these years.

No normal minifigure has pupils. It only makes sense for Maul to just have the white glare. If you think pupils are the way Lego needs to go then maybe you should look into the clone wars minifigures. Lego is its own style that makes their representation of these characters, not perfect replicas. If that's what you're looking for, you should maybe look into something like Hot Toys.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that Darth Maul is also missing his cape and hood, which I think is worse than his lack of pupils because it makes him even more inaccurate to the scene that this set is based on

I like the shaping on this one more than the 2016 one, and while the 2011 one was very pleasingly shaped, it was innacurate. Personally, I think this model nails the shaping the best.

Great Video. I bought the Original 1999 Sith Infiltrator, haven't gotten any others since, I'm going to make this one just a little deeper, longer, get rid of that Ridge, and lengthen the Landing Gear. And a steady hand with a Sharpie and you can have your Pupils.

This set is awesome! I had the original from 1999, but this is a big step up. Always good to get a Darth Maul minifigure! They even have the double red lighsaber even if the scene in the movie didn't have that.

I recently took apart my 2015 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator to make some space (it didn't really help that much haha), but I prefer that one over this one by far! Will probably pick this one up sometime in the near future.

Technically standard minifigures do not have pupils either. They have a glint of light in their eyes. This Maul has that as well, making it more consistent. It does look odd though after seeing sith eyes represented a certain way for decades.

If you can do a review of this and the 2015 (or all of them) I would love to hear what you think. It would probably sway whether I buy it or just the minifigs. I try to collect the best of the versions instead of owning them all so I hope that comes soon! Thanks for all you are doing!

I do actually like the no pupils look, since other minifigures dont really have pupils, just black eyes and the white shine, it would only make sense darth maul would only have the white shine as well

11:34 Looks like you could flip the little cheese slope upside down and have it rest on the floor flush with it's 'backside' instead of the 'tip'. Easy fix! Sure, would not look really good but better than a completely angled ship or tippy-toeing as seen in this shot.

I think it's a nice display piece. I saw the full 70 dollar value in that the set is the best looking sith infiltrator we've ever gotten, the Saw figure is awesome, and it helped me get the GWP droid carrier when other lego sets were sold out at my local lego store. Definitely a great display piece

Honestly I don't mind Maul without pupils, especially since it looks more clean compared to certain Mauls in recent years like Duel on Mandalore (eyes not exactly centered and have slight red parts covering it) or Crimson Dawn (same deal, matter of fact I've seen it where the pupils go in two different places) Also just me, it would be nice if Anakin had the small poseable legs

I personally am really excited for this set especially since I've never gotten any of the previous LEGO Sith Infiltrators! Especially for Minifig-scale sets I usually don't have a problem when design sacrifices are made for the sake of play since they are toys and the ones here I feel like I'm going to be fine with. I only have a problem when cheap or questionable choices are made for seemingly no reason at all; such as the 2021 75301 X-Wing's ridiculously flimsy front landing gear that just about no reviewer ever mentioned yet if you go on the LEGO site it's featured prominently in quite a few customer reviews.

12:14 Yeahhhhhhh, thing is, the last time I listened to that advice on a set like this was Grievous's Starfighter, and that set just never seemed to go on sale in my area. It eventually retired and I never got it. I still kinda regret never picking it up since it was basically my only chance to get Grievous and the 212th airborne trooper (Plus the ship was actually nice).

Was highly debating what to get for May 4th to get the droid carrier GWP and decided to get a bunch of store exclusives, and then i realised this was a store exclusive so decided to get this and use some insider points so technically i only got this set for £40 which in my opinion is an amazing deal and doubt it would be that discounted ever !

Gonna respectfully disagree with the pupils thing, yeah it felt like a needless change for maul and I do agree that he looks better with them for the sake of details and having a detailed minifig and if I had to chose I would go for pupils maul but it looks good for what it is IMO but really needed a hood and cape for scene accuracy

i can confirm, the sith infiltrator does NOT slope forwards that much, if i had to guess, either someone was lazy or they were trying to lean into the forward slope of the ship a bit
