Put the pauldron underneath the backpack neck piece. When you put the backpack over top, it just perfectly bends part of it back and makes it look geometrically correct on his shoulders
I dont think harcase kix and tup are popular enough to warrant their own figures, lego tends to keep it limited to high ranking clones. Fives only appears in this set due to popular demand
I just wish they put the variant of Vader with his robes over his chest armour. They released it once and didn’t do it ever again. This set would have been perfect for it.
That was for rebels Vader. Odd they didn't do it for this set but if you have that Vader I guess you could swap the arms, though you run the risk of cracking the torso
Thank the force there’s no 25th anniversary print on fives’s back was dreading this cause I thought they would ruin the figure with a big gold 25th anniversary print plastered on his back but now I’m definitely getting this set
None of the 25th anniversary figures should have it. I know that Malak and Fives don't. It made sense with the 20th anniversary figures to differentiate them from the originals but these are all brand new figures.
They ought to scale this set down and make it a battle pack with Captain Antilles as the “commander.” Yes I know he is a named character, but he looks like any other captain.
Two things about Fives. 1. I'm gonna try getting the pauldron wet and hold it down with aluminum foil till it dries to see if that helps. 2. What if you just put the backpack on top of the pauldron?
After getting the set myself, I can say the "remote" door handle works absolutely perfectly. If you have problems with it, try loosening the technic elements that make the mechanism. Don't worry, it's a very common mistake, especially if you're not used to building moving mechanism with technic elements. it is easy to "overighten" connections, causing the parts to bind against eachother and cause added friction. If you loosen the connections the movement of the door is buttery smooth
Nah it was just because I didn’t push the tiles all the way down so the door was getting caught on the loose ones I’m definitely used to building technic mechanisms in complex sets thanks tho
@@fivelonelyclones Well I was more talking in general. I assumed you weren't used to technic judging from your star wars focused content, but it seems I was wrong
What an absolutely beautiful looking set. I just love the details of the hallway and the characters look great! Can’t wait to pick this up once it releases. Great review!
The reason that the floor isn't wider is because widening it would make it un-proportional to how the floor is supposed to be relative to the door. If you don't believe me, look at the wall next to the door and try to imagine a wider floor with another wall on the opposing side. It is super asymmetrical this, which is why the floor is narrow (like it's supposed to be, especially considering proportions in A New Hope). Tantive IV corridors are supposed to be narrow. It's a corridor.
I know this. That’s why I said there could’ve been some white over there to represent the start of the other wall. Also I don’t think it’d be too noticeable if it was 1 stud off
If you put the old plastic pauldron from 2008 on top of this new one and leave it for a day, after removing it you should notice the new fabric version will be folded correctly. Looks great after that.
Very strange, that this is the first Tantive IV boarding set in 25 years of Lego Star Wars. It is really cool for minifig collectors to have this cheaper opportunity to get a Captain Antilles. Although seven minifigs for a 55 $ set is already quite a lot for Lego, I am still missing the two imperial officers present in this scene, especially since Lego never makes these imperial officers in black uniforms apart from two single cases with Juno Eclipse and the 2016 Death Star. Also this is once again quite a missed opportunity for Lego to make a movie accurate Vader. Although many people probably do not care and lucky me even has the 2016 Rebels Vader which is basically accurate to ANH, I still think that no one would complain if Lego brought a little more variety to their Vader minifigs, especially considering how Lego is currently flooding the market with Vader minifigs. What bothers me as a long time collector even more about the stormtroopers apart from their helmets, is how Lego completely unnecessarily changed their torso and leg design and therefor making it harder to achieve consistancy in long term stormtrooper army collections. Not that I am not open to well thought through improvements, but what exactly was imroved here compared to the 2014 torso and leg design? It is still not that big of a deal compared to the redesign of the phase 2 clones though which was overall quite a big downgrade apart from the leg printing. Fives, yeah. Everything that can be said is probably already said, main things for me are the missing kama and Lego still not being able to have no unprinted gaps on the clone helmet's fin's sides which automatically dooms Fives' helmet for obvious reasons. Overall he is not as bad as people make him out to be though, Fox is still lightyears worse imo. The build is nice overall but I would still prefer prints over stickers and I agree that the floor could be wider. I will get the set but probably wait for a discount depending on my patience which usualy is not a problem but could make an exception here for a character like Fives.
Baffles me that they include diverse head prints for the stormtroopers but not the rebel troopers Edit: also you’re way too critical of the stormtrooper and not critical enough of Fives
I definitely agree about Fives, I feel the hate he gets is way overblown considering we've gotten worse. I'm very happy we're getting another notable named clone, which makes me all the more excited for future clones.
Hey dude! For your best clone trooper polls I was wondering, will commander wolffe get a second chance since most people in the comments voted him and he was very close to the shadow arf?
more accurate to what its a known fact that when the empire got all their stormtroopers they had to supplement the clone ranks with recruited and drafted soldiers
@princesslinkin7587 you know what ot means? It means original trilogy. I don't count disney cannon as actual cannon. it's a mockery of what gorge lukas created.
The worst part about this set is the price... Also noticed the Romans 10:9 in the description, Romans 10:13,14 is why people like me go door to door! :D
@calebwindham3698 They 501st only stayed pure for the first few years of the Empire. Later on (either after the Kamino rebellion or after clones started aging out, depending on whether we're talking about Legends or Canon) the 501st started to accept more and more normal recruits into its ranks and, by the time of ANH, was mostly made up of regular human recruits with only a chunk of Fett clones left in it.
"Vader's Fist" or the 501st lasted all the way to the end of The Battle of Endor which are the stormtroopers we see on Tantive 4. Yes, the Empire enlisted non-clones but that doesn't mean the 501st didn't serve with them on different fronts. But the stormtroopers that we see on the Tantive 4 are 501st not enlisted troopers so an identical head for the troopers would've been nice instead of making them different. Basically, it would be a nice call back to the lore but whatever, and no the 501st never accepted non clones, thats based on the 2005 BF, and as far as I know it never changed because the stormtroopers seen with Vader through the OG is 501st. And the line "We never got used to the new guys" is referring to non clone recruits within the Empire, not the 501st.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 And plus even with accelerated aging younger clones at the end of the clone production were still enlisted as seen in Bad Batch and older sources. Also, we have Rex in Rebels who is shown to not really be affected by the aging process so it's not hard to see older clones who were still more active than retired clones still being effective like Rex, Gregor, or Wolffe. Basically, that argument of accelerated age really doesn't make sense even in Canon nowadays in my opinion so basically the issue wasn't really accelerated aging it was loyalty as seen in 2005 BF and even in Canon with Bad Batch.
The old ones are a little too small these ones are wayyyy to big relative to how too small the other ones are. And the old ones don’t sacrifice shape and proportions like the new ones they just barely sacrifice the accurate size so they’re better
I think this set is perfect except for the Fives helmet, I don't understand how anyone can say it's good. Its so inaccurate, it looks like he has big blue eye brows...
Most of the anniversary figures don't really need to be exclusive. Fives could easily come in something like an umbaran starfighter set with pong krell and two umbarans. Leia could come in multiple kenobi sets and saw gerrera could come in a u-wing set. The only ones I could see actual making sense are malak and white vader because they are somewhat obscure in the new star wars canon so they'd most likely never get added to a set otherwise.
@thefirstcurse3123 in the last 2 years we got Cody, rex, fox, vaughn, a random unnamed 187th commander, all 3 unique 501st battlefront classes and much more. You really don't believe we'd get Fives eventually after all that?
@@skinnyj123 Well Cody is from Episode III, Rex was a UCS minifigure, and Vaughn was part of the Clone Wars Season 7 wave so those are all excuses. As for Fox though that's fair. He did come in a Clone Wars themed set. As for the 187th and Battlefront 2 troopers, that's also fair. I wasn't thinking of them. So yeah, we probably would have gotten Fives eventually. You're right. Hopefully one day they'll make a set with a far better Fives minifigure in the future.
I genuinely don't understand the dislike of the dual-molded stormtrooper helmet. I personally like it better in almost every way compared to the old mold.
@sergentoddball3617 You couldn't rotate the old mold either, and no, popping the helmet up a bit to turn it with the old mold doesn't count as rotating. The helmet breathers don't end in the middle of the torso, only slightly lower than the old mold, and they certainly don't make the stormtroopers look like they have a hunchback. They literally fit the neck bracket piece perfectly fine (see sandtroopers and mortar stormtrooper), what are you on about not being able to give them backpacks.
@thefirstcurse3123 It really isn't nearly as oversized as people say since it's about the same overall size as the TIE pilot/AT-AT driver helmet. Also, the stormtrooper helmets in ANH were really big, so I don't see the size of the helmet being an issue. Besides, the details and shaping of the dual-molded helmet are overall more accurate to the movie appearance, which I quite like.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 No, they're way too big. People aren't bobble heads, and they didn't look like that in A New Hope. The TIE Fighter Pilots and AT-AT Drivers don't look anywhere near as ridiculous. They need to change this stupid helmet design that's almost universally hated among LEGO Star Wars fans.
No he didn't. Five Lonely Clones totally has the voice and demeanor of a 1st grader. He's totally only like 6 years old. There's totally absolutely 100% no way he's a full grown man.
