The 2009 LEGO Star Wars Ahsoka's Starfighter and Vulture Droid is a very good set on paper but it has a couple issues... It's a Clone Wars classic and these days that means a high price to pay if you want one so I wouldn't reccomend buying one in 2023 but it's fun to look back at what was with this LEGO Star Wars set that has never been re-made!

The vulture Droid never fires missles with its wings closed, so I consider that a design feature. For reference, before the vulture Droid launches missiles in ROS in the beginning space scene, he separates his wings, then fires

The reason the piece won't attach is because at 2:40 you can see one of the studs on the bottom of the piece is partially filled in

That shouldn't matter, though, because that is the tub that goes between the studs, so there is a different problem going on. (Edit: Tube not Tub)

good memories attached to this set. when i was a kid my family drove all the way to florida from new england and got this set along with some lego minifigure magnets and the separatist shuttle. if i knew what i know now i would begged for the at-ot 😂

I am Loving these throw back reviews. I personally was rather young for the Prime CW sets so these videos feel very nostalgic but also help me learn about the era I was too young to comprehend.

I had to replace that exact printed piece and it broke in the exact same spot too. I went to bricklink and bought 3 of those pieces and when I put the replacement on the first one I tried snapped oit their perfectly. There was some creaking but it went together perfectly. I have to replace 6 of the red pieces and yes, might was fresh from the box. It was the most stressful building experiances I ever had. Now I hide this set behind my UCS Republic Gunship for safe keeping. Nothing can accedently fall on it and its all by its lonesome. Glad I have it but boy I'm never toughing it again. Its staying there forever. If you want this set. I recomend keeping it in the pretty box. 😂😅

Ashoka’s Species doesn’t have Lekku like Twileks but their Head „tails“ are called Montrals

Nope, togrutas have both Lekku and Montrals. "Lekku" is just the word for head tails, and "Montrals" is the word for their horns. So Ahsoka, like all togruta, has 3 lekku and 2 montrals.

I think you should have soak that dark red parts in warm warm water so it could soften them some and use a shampoo and conditioner in the Ayer as well

Didn't you notice there is an imperfection on the fastening holes underneath, maybe that's the reason it won't connect.

Few months ago I got out my late 90s Adventurers sets with those rubbery palm leaves that you can't get anymore. And in a matter of seconds they all crumbled upon touching like cornflakes. Lego needs a best before date on their pieces...

Hey mandr, i have the new phase 2 captain rex and i noticed that they use a new double vented head mold instead of the hallow stud, but now the head hole is so thight that since i put rex’s head on the fig he has a white stretch mark around the nek of the head mold. Do you have the same problem, hope you find the time to reply

3:12 See, I had the same problem when I was building my Venator Attack Cruiser back in 2019 because some parts just did not want to attach and it were the plate bricks for the lower part of the ship. It had nothing to do with any broken pieces, but I think the one I got had a poor QC issue when it came to friction on the plates. 9-year old me resorted to the one thing that I had never done before: super glue the plates. Just a drop of glue on some of the areas and just press the brick down as hard as I could. A painful procedure for my palms, but was it worth it? Yes.

It's a shame that we never got Ahsoka's eta-2 interceptor. It was only in 1 episode of the clone wars, but it would be cool to complete the collection of eta-2's (and we got Barris' delta-7 despite it not even being in an episode; it's just in the intro of one episode). Plus it would be another place to get R7-A7. And I just like the colour scheme of Ahsoka's starfighters.

In 2009 I was still in my Dark Ages, so most sets passed me by...I was aware of them but didn't care. But I had honestly NEVER seen this set before. I don't even recall it at any store. So, to me, this is entirely new. And yeah, those printed slopes looked gorgeous (the crack kinda hurt to watch, ngl). Pretty sad to know that today LEGO would just slap stickers in them and call it "a premium product".

Hey Ryan, i know this is kind of random, but i i currently have around 20-30 destroyed lego sets, i started sorting out my pieces i first started with sorting out by piece but now started to sort them by brand, i put all the fakes on another bin, any tips on how i should sort them?

I feel your pain, try to learn all the lego colours, took me a while but now I'm getting pretty good at spotting fakes from a distance.. 'second brick to the left' does one really good vid on all of the colours plus lots of shorts.. please tell her I sent you 👍

Pretty sure it was overpriced cause it was a Walmart exclusive. I could be wrong but I think back then the exclusives used to cost a bit more than they should have, but I could be generalizing this as I definitely know that TRU exclusives were more expensive than they should have been, but I think that was TRU tax and not Exclusivity tax.

I hated flick-fires so much as a kid. I'd flick them, and the set would fall apart, or I'd just push them and they'd just kind of...fall out. Lego has definitely done much better projectiles since then, but I did hate the era where "play features" in a lego set often meant those awful flick-fire missiles.

Have you considered dumping the whole score out of 10 and do something a little more customized? As you've stated before, it's just so arbitrary that it really doesn't mean much. I follow Jeremy Jahns for movie reviews, and his system for rating movies is like "No alcohol required" or "See it and buy the Blu-Ray" or "Awesometastic" etc. You could have a lot of fun coming up with a whole system for rating that is less arbitrary and makes your videos just that much more awesome :)

Although Ahsoka has been a detriment to the franchise, I'd like to see this set remade, just so I could get R7 in the standard style. I love astromech droids.

@StarNameKev Is it interesting to state a basic fact? The fact is that Ahsoka has been a narrative blight. The timeline had to be drastically altered, and several characters assassinated to excuse her mere presence, which has far overstayed its welcome. She's become Filoni's pet OC, with the narrative being unnaturally written around her and forced on us as the "answer" to the sequel garbage.

Ryan stop it, i have this boxed but just one and you make me want to open it from my crazy boxed collection, WHAT is up with that brick, i had heaps of cheese slops cracking 2010, are my old sets going to be that bad???? Will Lego fix this owning Bricklink lol.
