“10 minifigures in a $50 set. If Lego did something like this today, it would probably be a sign that the apocalypse was about to happen.” Lego have got far too greedy.
CMFs are $5 each so 10 minifigs are worth about $50. Even if you disagree, minifigures are rather expensive to make and for a $50 set to have 10 figs the actual build would have to be tiny. Lego City has those people packs that cost about $40-50 and have ~10 figures each.
You're right lego is getting greedy! Alot of their sets are now over $300! The UCS sets are well over that like the UCS millennium falcon! It's $800! I would have never thought they would get that high!
Gotta create fake scarcity. :/ Considering an atrocious price for this set they could have done at least that. We're rumored to get meditation chamber "adult" set but it will probably be another regional exclusive so no chance at affordable arm printing. /sigh
I wonder if there should be some kind of “handicap” points for the original sets like the 2001. True the yellow skin tones aren’t realistic to the movies, but I always found them more “lego-like” and quaint.
I had to wait for the end for him to mention the older gray in 2001 models. My Harry Potter Year 1 & 2 models all have the older grays which doesn't fit well with the newer grays, if you want to build something else. The newer grays look "cleaner", but it's too bad they couldn't have made the change earlier. Same regarding yellow to nougat.
I own the 2015 version for 6 years now and i was always deeply convinced that "the Captain Rex guy" figure was an alien! It just never looked like a beard to me
@@Tiishen He uploaded it last week but the video wasn't complete (like on third was left of the video), it basically just ended in the middle of the video. And well, now he reuploaded the FULL video so yeah...
It never ceases to amaze me how once LEGO will go hard on a set, making it near perfect without turning it into ucs, but then dropping the ball and tripping over it on its successor set, i.e. the Imperial shuttle, AAT, Clone Turbo Tank, Republic fighter tank, MTT, Sandcrawler, etc probably...
Yeah that's pretty impressive how they can make a worse version the second time around. I had the 7662 MTT, and I can tell from the pictures that the newer one is very much a downgrade.
If I did this ranking: Minifigures: 2005, 2015, 2021, 2001 Playability: 2005, 2015, 2021, 2001 Design: 2015, 2021, Tie with 2001 and 2005 Value: 2015, 2005, 2021, 2001 Opinion: 2015, 2021, 2005, 2001
I really don’t like the cockpits on the older two models, that would be a deal breaker for me in terms of putting them on display. So I do actually prefer the 2021 model over those. 2015 still had the best playscale model though
For the 75094 landing gear, you can move the black pins one hole down to the end of L shaped liftarm, and remove 2 white plates off the wing roots, so the wings can fold down full 90 degrees. The model will stand taller and the gear will retract nicely into the fuselage.
TRUTH: Corona virus is a bio weapon released by the CCP from their Wuhan lab. (not a man made virus or genetically engineered). China had already discovered a vaccine for it. That's how they got it under perfect control, their aim is to cripple western economies which they have successfully done. The WHO are corrupted by Chinese officials and funding. Their "investigation" relies entirely on info and samples provided by CCP and investigators used to work in the lab
I really hope Lego takes the strong points of the 2021 version (mostly the interior access) and combines that with the overall better design of the 2015 model. Maybe add space for a third figure in the cockpit if possible. And definitely fix the landing gear.
for the 2015's landing gear, you can put the feet on the very last technic hole it moves the center of gravity of the shuttle a bit forward when landed, and it falls back with much more effort than before other advantages of this landing gear placement, is that the landing gear in itself is much more hidden when retracted (I think this is way better for playing with this set) and it puts the shuttle a little bit higher up on its feet, allowing to place figures underneath the cockpit and at least have a bit more cinematic look when doing dioramas with it (also the boarding ramp is a bit more visible now) only concession you would have to make is to remove the little inverted round tile at the back of the wing section that will make contact with the landing gear when the wings are opened (IIRC they already made contact with the gear in ist original position)
I honestly think the newest one is the best for price and accuracy, there isn’t that much difference between it and the previous one to justify for the extra money for me, granted it probably the best if money is no object. I’ll stick with the brand new one
I bought the 2015 model for $100 sealed on eBay in 2017, and its one of my favorite sets to this day. Looks great on display with my six royal guards, palps, and vader

The 3 point landing gear is what the falcon had in a new hope model and it had the same problem... so in empire they had 5 Also... in a new hope, they had a metal support covered in hose to keep it in place so it didn’t fall over and crush the actors
Might be nostalgia in part, but for me, nothing beats the 2005 imperial inspection set. So glad I got my hands on it a few years ago. It's just in another league.
I think the 2021 model has such an underrated build. Excellent blend of tiles, studs and technics, multiple techniques used yet the ship looks almost completely seamless. Looks super durable too. Would be fun to build. The way it comes together in the speed builds I’ve seen just looks so clean. Also the box art😳
I was very content with the new shuttle until I looked back at the "Endor" one. Small price difference for so much more figures and better build and form. I do like the approach of reducing the sets in detail and size in order to make them more affordable and accessible but I expected the new shuttle to be about 65 Euro instead of 80. I think its price in Europe is really screwed and, being just 10 euro cheaper from the previous model, the build quality is atrocious. If you're looking to buy an Imperial Shuttle for your collection to display you're better off getting 2016 version and paying twice the price of the new one.
The sa part is it really didnt need much to be actually decent, the eurozone price is horrible, but if they would bumb up the US one to about 80 dollars (and leave the EU one damn well alone :D ), it could have been a decent alternative. The little things like lack of Vader arm printing are just salt in the wounds. But hey, as a proud owner of the previous one I at least don't have a reason to get it, so there is that (selfish) upside.
I don't have them anymore due to the absurd amount of moving around the country I did growing up, but I think my older brothers had the 2001 Imperial Shuttle set because I kept finding pieces to it in the family lego bin. My brothers, however, kept insisting they got the X-Wing of the era. This is false because there were no parts that looked like they could go on an X-Wing. We even had the Palpatine torso and two red capes.
For me, 2021 is my favorite as it's the cheapest right now and the easier access is what I want since I'm gonna be crashing and flying this thing around
I completely agree - the 2015 costs $200 brand new and is obviously not 3 times better than the 2021 version. 2015 does look better, but not 3 times better IMO. Even at the retails price of $110, id still question if that is better value than 2021 version
Picked up a 2021 shuttle for $55 today, I think that's a steal considering all it gets you. The chin looks weird but with it being black in color, it's easy to blank it out in your mind
I am going to bet getting the 2021 one on monday i cant afford the others do dont have space plus i have a few ideas to mod the "chin" at the front & controls for the cockpit
Hey when you try modding it, would you comment on this thread again on how you did it, I'm getting back into lego after a few years and I don't think that the 2021 one looks bad at any other place besides the chubby chin.
@@georgieporgie10 iv done my mods what i done was i left a few parts off the bottom so all you see is the technic bars & i removed the stud shooters & a few bits in the cockpit to lowe the cockpit & added 2 trans yellow 1x1 plates next to the attach ment next to the cockpit & put 2 1x2 printed control plates over it all to hold it down i added 2 black chesse slops at the front to cover gaps an then on the side off the front i added 1x8 black tiles on each side with a 1x2 stud plate to cover up gaps this as wellso u can see the poilet in side i hope this sort off helps ?
I remember seeing the 2015 imperial shuttle for $90 and I was either going to buy that, or the Death Star Duel for $80. I ended up buying the Death Star Duel. The collector side of me wishes I would have gotten the shuttle instead. But the Death Star Duel was the first lego star wars set I bought and it was definitely a good play set with amazing mini figs
There was another set for shuttles like this where was more bigger where there was tecnic function to change angle of wings. EDIT: sorry I was mistaken.
Amazing how your video format has improved in a few years, leaving your "proprietary comparison score sysyem" at the end :) Keep on getting better as you're growung older, there's no limit (well, 75-85y maybe lol).
I picked up the 2015 model at target on clearance for around $67! The box had slight damage on it but was the only one available on the shelf. Glad I bought it at the time!
