How about we think it this way; one of the main characters in the clone wars is finally affordable to everyone. Screw them investors, we as fans want figures to be affordable, we want lego to be a fun hobby. We dont want scalpers buying 60 bd-1s to up their price (true story its already happening) and people crying over their investments. We want to have fun and enjoy lego as we did when we were young.
Yeah, not only do some older folks get a character that they enjoyed when they were young, but people who are young right now get a character they love. It’s a win-win.
Locking a well loved and very well known mini fig behind a £600 set is a very scummy thing to do so I'm very happy about it. Frankly id have taken a £70 full Y-Wing too
I think I’m probably gonna buy about two of the Lego Captain Rex Y Wing Microfighter just because it’s a cool figure and a cool character from the clone wars TV show
I like that Lego released such a popular character in a cheap set, but I think they did it the wrong way. They stated that the UCS Venator one is exclusive, they could keep it that way by just modifying a print on the cheaper set, this way we would have 2 versions of Rex, 1 exclusive and 1 from a cheap set and everybody would be happy.
I didn't t buy the figure, nor the UCS. Never planned to, I don t collect figures (in fact, I don t collect LEGO). I'm glad people can have a cheap Rex; but what LEGO did here with their unclear marketing sentences is inexcusable. There is absolutely no need to do this. UCS Venator is an amazing build, made from a company that is far far away from bankruptcy. I feel bad for the people that bought the figure on eBay. In the end, LEGO will keep printing money and LEGO fans will fight each other. "Why feel bad for someone who paid 150 bucks for a LEGO figure"? Well, at that point, there was no other choice. The only people who benefits from this are scalpers and LEGO. I would have never paid that much for a figure, It would have been available at some point. There is no need for LEGO to be dishonest. LEGO has some great policies ( like the return policy). Fully honest LEGO will still be a multi-billion company. You will make more money with happy customers and being different from all the other companies.
Yeah, I agree. There wasn't really any reasons for them to do that. If they already planned on re-releasing the minifigure in the Y-wing Microfighter, then they could've just not said that the Captain Rex would be exclusive.
The figure was exclusive for a period of time till now i dont understand why so many people are mad... Its not like they bought the venator throw it away and kept the rex figure... Imagine the greed or madness of some people that are mad cuz one of the most loved and popular character is now affordable for anyone... Smh 😅
Unpopular opinion im mad for the fox figure cuz its kept behind an 150$ dollar set that never gets a discount in my country at least and they are aleo gonna retire the set this year... The set is great but ive only wanted the fox minifigure especially now when the shock troopers are affordable with droid battlepacks 🎉
