I just love how he saved the worst for last and didn't even talked about it because it's pretty much a universal fact at this point that the First Order AT-ST is just bad. It's so bad that horrible, terrible and trash are understatements for how bad it is xD
@@breadz285 Not really hilarious more stupid. It is an Orange and white droid in a ship that is black and grey. How did no one see him? How did he get the hatch open? Why is the armor made of tissue paper) and why do they still use a design that is obsolete
You know, I really wasn't sold on the AT-ST until you showed the elevator, definitely adds value and makes it a can't-miss set! Going to buy it for myself for Christmas and get hours of fun 😅
@@leanmeangreenbeanmachine3347 As Jang mentions in the video it is unbalanced also the wing design it gives the pilot bigger lateral blind spots than the original TIE
I love this guy. He has the respectable, soothing voice of a nature documentary narrator but he makes videos about legos! Really enjoyable to watch and to quote The AGL Group, “that silent roast of the atst was golden!”
"It's a Knights of Ren Transport that cannot transport the Knights of Ren!" Well said. Silent treatment of that useless headless AT-ST was even better said.
The new 2020 at at is definitely better due to the larger interior space for the troops and the drivers, and because it overall is designed better and is a lot bigger. I hope u can get the at at too, ik I will be
I bought the new AT-AT a couple days ago, the first LEGO walker I’ve ever gotten (not counting small scout Walkers), and, while that price is pretty...crazy...it’s rather good, in terms of figures, design, interior space, height, color and display value. I almost got the AT-M6, but I didn’t for whatever reason, wonder what it’s like to have in person
Jang, thank you for your great videos! Now that Hidden Side is down, wouldn't it be great to have a look back on what went wrong with this series? Where were opportunities and where did LEGO make mistakes. I would really like to hear your thoughts on the topic because all the hate Hidden Side got for the App doesn't seem to blend in with the overall quality of the builds and sets.
In the opinion of a random commenter, I think Hidden Side failed because Nobody Asked For It. No one was clamoring for an AR Lego game (as far as I know), they just did one. If as much energy as goes into Ninjago went into Hidden Side, it would have succeeded. The obscure story shorts could have been a cartoon for sets that are clearly lore-heavy. Also the box art needed to show the sets not weird artwork
Hidden Side had some good and even really good sets but horrible packaging for buyers and sellers in shops. And the App is just plain wrong for Lego. Lego is supposed to inspire creativity by building and get kids away from smart phones and not push them toward them.
Lego should just never ever stimulate kids to pick up their phones to do toy stuff, Lego should want to stay and focus on being THE alternative to parents and kids to play without the use of a phone by the kids. Kids will learn phone shizzle randomly everywhere, Lego doesn´t have to train them in that, nor should Lego feel a need to incorporate the phone in fear of loosing the kids from playing Lego due to the phone. If Lego would continu to make great sets, kids will fantasize play themselves for ever. Some of the hidden side sets where nice, but some where diminished by the use of the (lime??)green haunted pieces. The school for instance was cool, but could have been better if the space needed for aunted action was used for creating play space.
Man, I’ve been watching this channel since I was seven, maybe younger, back when you did Hero Factory, and before that, god...one of the first channels I watched on a regular basis, I’m so glad to see this channel has continued for so long. Repetitive? Yeah, it can be, but that doesn’t take away from all the memories I have of this channel. Thanks for reading, whoever reads this, thank you, I’d like to hear what you guys think too.
I've been watching for so many years that I've lost count. And you brought the lego love back for me. I was picked on so much for what what I enjoy doing, and you let me know it is okay to be who I am
@@Revilod is it? We've got a lot of sets based on The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch is written and directed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni just the same.
JANG! hey man, I just stumbled onto your RC channel a few days ago, and now your lego channel! Just wanted to say how awesome I think your videos are! Thanks for taking the time and effort to put these together. Your RC videos got me back into driving, I've been out of the hobby for about 8 years. We really appreciate all your hard work! Thanks!!!
I like all these, and the crait speeder on sale is an EXCELLENT value for useful parts....also, if your having a SITH type day, the tie dagger could jack somone up!!! thanks jang!
@@emberfist8347 why though? The x wings that they have done for the trilogy seem decent enough and good build quality and the first order snow speeder is only an unfortunate set that didn’t really get as much screen time as they thought it would. The first order at st is far worse than the snow speeder.
Agree about movement of scout walker - Back in 2013 the Galaxy Squad - Hive Crawler had an amazing leg mechanism. Something like that would have worked better.
Hey guys, looks like Jang here from ultimate Rc. This year i got back in rc cars and watchrd some of your old videos again, now this month im getting into lego again and i find you here too!
Today was a great day for Star Wars. So many series and movies were announced! The one I'm most excited for is the Bad Batch show. (Mostly for Echo tho).
How could you say all of those mean things about my all-time favorite Lego set, the First Order AT-ST?!! That set revolutionized Lego building by... nope, I still can’t say this with a straight face.
That Thumbnail speaks for itself. "My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined." Looks at First Order AT-ST. I can't even believe Jang kept that thing yet even giving it some screen time again.
Ironically, the AT-M6 is one of my favourite Star Wars sets ever! I keep 4 minifigures inside and a bunch of lightsabers and guns, plus its ape shape just rocks :P
This might sound a bit weird but it’s actually really nice to know how little time you leave between filming a video and uploading it. That way it feels way more personal!
No comment on the AT-ST was the best critique possible on that horrendous set, haha! Gotta wholeheartedly disagree on the Heavy Scout Walker, though. I bought it out of pure curiosity and it truely subverted my expectations. For the legs to work, it had to have tires and even if the wheels were transparent, we'd still _see_ those tires. Playing with it for a time, I really felt that the walking function, while not perfect, was actually really fun.
That walker with the wheels reminds me of the 2003 Bionicle set Takua and Pewku, which has an excellent walking emulation look to it. You should check it out, Jang!
for me the first order heavy scout walker was one of my favorites! it is my favorite size for sets, not to big to be unwieldy in a small childs hands but not so small that its just a little speeder or something. the legs are cool and unique and its a fun upgrade to the ATST, I would like to see teddy bears destroy the new design. it also reminds me of some of the kenner original vehicles they made when they ran out of star wars ships, its cute and I would love to see lego to more original concepts.
I was surprised to see the AT-M6 here, I love that set. Btw you forgot the Nightbuzzard does have a tiny bit of interior but it can only hold 1 figure.
While I own the battle on Crait, AT-M6 and First Order scout walker, myself, ad I love them for what they are, I do see where you're coming from with how each of the sets is flawed and imperfect. I'll still love them for what LEGO was able to do but I respect your opinion on them nonetheless.
Does kind of pain me to see the KoR transport on here, even though it does fundamentally fail at what it exists to do. Still, I do understand, and agree even. I think the Resistance Transport Pod at least deserved an honorable mention just for how many stickers you had to put on the canopy, even though I think its a nice little shuttle.
I've seen it time and a gain with lego. They do not do the "This goes with this" often especially with star wars sets. Maybe its a mentality of not wanting customers to buy loads of sets just for the figures? But they must know people do that! haha
I modded my ATM6 to contain 6 figures in the back and to have a much more accurate head and now I love it also neatened up the armour plating so that set was close to being great
Of these sets I see potential in the crawler. Mod it a little bit and I think it would be an interesting droid-machine. Like having it with a few troopers in the cyberpunk city, as a security droid.
1. I personally liked the Defense of Crait, but understand your criticisms of the play value. 2. The only reason I would get the Dorito fighter is if I found it on sale, it is too expensive in my opinion, especially with the 2021 $40 TIE.
Sam's brick lab did an amazing easy mod of the knights of renaissance transport. It was right along the lines of the way I was planning on fixing it. But it's a must Jang you may actually like it after thaf.
I'm surprised the Battle of Takodana structure didn't end up in this video (although I'm biased, because it's my biggest regret purchase), but otherwise this was a great video. Loved the silent roast of the First Order ATST. I think enough has been said about that embarrassment of a release.
I'd like to forget the sequel trilogy EXCEPT for Kylo Ren. He was awesome. He was cool. I liked him. Adam Driver did FANTASTICALLY. I'd like them to keep the Kylo Ren merch rolling lol.
Thing is all they had to do was make the head removable and no one would've said anything. The Rogue One AT-ST came out a year before and that was popular
i only got a few lets from the sequel trilogy. one of them was that crab walker. hehe. think i got it because it was different from the other walkers. also it came with general hux.
