Well, time to make a mini version! Not sure I will ever get it, but it definitively feels more interesting than most UCS big gray sets! Cool review David
I really want Jedi Fallen Order sets, I could just imagine throwing some vines all over the exterior of the walker with a Cal Kestis Minifigure climbing on the outside
Too expensive but for once a set that really feels like it has been made with love. No prints but at least the outside is sticker free. Combined with the battle pack this really sets you up for a premium LEGO experience.
I really like the added interior. personnally for me interior is really important and had me hold back on spending that much on a ucs set before maybe pick up this one!
Great interior…..but no toilet! 😂🤣😂 and the reason there’s room for 4 speeders but you only get 2 is probably because you’ll get at least one speeder in the up and coming Hoth Battle Pack (which will also probably give you more troopers to fill up the rest of the seats but will mean buying at least 2 battle packs if not more given the number of seats).
@@christopherstein2024 it actually is for the most part. i have a 1/144 model of this and based on the model and a 1/144 figure, converting the judgement to lego, it is minifig scale
Building it now, and I've got to say.. it's already the best UCS set ever in my eyes. It's so accurate, minifig scale, the interior/ display ability, and you can't really understand till you see it in person.. but it's size and verticality is straight up astonishing. I might even be willing to say it is the most "awe inspiring" Lego set ever made. It really does have a "wow" factor like no other set.
@Future Pants they aren't clones. The empire retired most clones by the time of the battle of yavin. This is the battle of hoth, which was three years later. At this time clones would've made up about 1% of the stormtrooper corps, with ~99% normal humans and a handful of aliens
As someone who is now making a collection of the battle of Hoth I cant be more excited to know how anazing this set is and how excited i got for the possible Hoth battlepack
@@scoutbricks4603 well most people don't like doing stuff that is not intended ,like swapping a mortar stormtrooper helmet with a normal one+we just gonna lose em anyway
As far as the interior I think it actually beats mocs. It has the best interior of a at-at we have seen. However some of the nocs have a more accurate exterior with thinner legs and more accurate looking leg joints along with a more tiled off look. This version however is massive and even a little larger than some mocs.
The smooth gear system of the legs would make using it for stop motion so much easier as you don’t have to worry about the model shifting ten degrees left or right for every frame like you do with the rachited joints.
I love how they have finally done away with the same faces for the Stormtroopers, it makes no sense as in lore the clones are done away with by A New Hope and they are hiring troops. Love the different coloured faces as well as with the helmets on it makes no difference and it makes more sense in universe, while also being great for collectors in that it brings value to each minifig
@Future Pants Im not saying they were all gender diverse people lol if you read the (now Legends... due to Disney...) books and lore you see that the Empire shut down the Clone program some time after Order 66 between The Return of the Sith and Star Wars (a new hope). Even watching the OT you hear the various Stormtroopers have different voices - they werent clones
Dude.... you really are the face of Lego star wars, great review of what (in my humble opinion) is one of the, if not the greatest UCS sets of all time.
the fact that they manage to fit the 40 chairs in it is so freaking cool because that makes it a 1:1 scale ! The AT-AT can carry 40 troops in the lore :D ! The 4 spot for speeder is also lore accurate, the AT-AT can take 4 speeders
The best part about me seeing this set come it is looking up the reviews for it and re discovering your channel it’s honestly really good to be watching again great content
“Let’s be honest, all most people remember from the movies is that there were stormtroopers with white gear who were shown at the battle of hoth.” Where are the stormtroopers?
Been wondering ever since Lego started the UCS stuff if they would ever do one of these. There have been some amazing MOC design ones for sale on eBay over the years however this is very impressive. Credit card might get hammered on the 26th of this month. 😁
Personally I'm totally in love with this, i don't even know what to say, it is big, massiv, detailed and emblematic. My favorite ship with the imperial star destroyer. If i had the money i wouldn't hesitate a sec to by it...
The UCS Falcon(espescially the LEPU version) the UCS Star Destroyer, and the AMAZING RMS Titanic are just so much better deals to me! even though this is an amazing model...and is huge...i just dont see $800 for it. Maybe $500
Love the Falcon custom stand..... makes me think wall-mounting it flat would look sweet too.... replace the engine exhaust with some strong blue LEDs that would cascade across the wall.
Without a doubt, I’d straight up go for the AT-AT cuz it’s straight up cool and more impressing than the Millenium falcon because of the features and the legs the fact that it’s tall and somewhat sturdy from what I’ve seen and in general it just looks badass
Anyone notice how lego made sure there was 4 disks on the generator at 8:12 to have a nod at the fans getting mad about the ucs hoth assault set that had 3 😂
Like I say with every expensive Lego Star Wars release: remember, the pricetag is not just for the plastic, it’s also for the amount of work, engineering and time put into designing these things. I can’t wait to get my hands on this!
This set is truly amazing and I'm definitely picking it up one day, however I can't help but notice some very minor nitpicks... This was the perfect opportunity to get a hologram Darth Vader, but it isn't included, the snowtroopers are missing their backpack piece and kamas, the joints of the legs conected to the main body aren't articulated, and there isn't a smaller sliding door like the one we see on Endor from Return of the Jedi. But on the flip side, the detail on this behemoth is immaculate! It's basically minifigure scale and it has a full interior which is 100% canonically correct, which is absolutely incredible! They even incorporated a function allowing you to "fire" the heavy blasters and move the head It makes me wish they built the Millennium Falcon in a similar way with the technic allowing for a more stable skeleton for a full interior... I think the minifigures are great, but I feel the drivers could have been exclusive somehow by maybe adding arm printing or enhancing the sand blue a little. But other than that I think the minifigures are great and appropriate for the set.
Great review of an awesome model. In my opinion it’s perfect and Lego could not have made it any better. Top marks to the designer of this set and can’t wait to order one myself.
when I get mine the first thing I’m doing when I finish it is putting the snow trooper commander in the head to replicate that one scene where veers tells him to deploy his troops
I'd like to see how this looks next to the Hasbro Legacy Collection AT-AT. Wondering which is larger. I know the UCS Millenium Falcon was slightly larger than the Legacy Collection BMF. They look amazing side by side.
Thank you black Friday and the internet..I'm going down a deep rabbit hole of Lego kits/hobby that I barely knew existed since I was a kid. Now I need money and space 😂
Thanks for the great review. I personally think that they should have added much more greebling to the kit, not only to up the piece count, but also to add much more detail. That would be my first part of MOC’ing this kit. I’ll wait a few years before getting it though.
It looks incredible but even for me who bought the UCS falcon and star destroyer this shit is way too expensive man. It's £250 away from a whole grand. It's a space problem at this point more than a money problem also
Yeah they falcon was 7500 pieces so the $800 price was a little more reasonable. But this has almost 1000 less pieces. It should naturally be $700 or even less
The set looks beautiful but the figures are a huge dissappointment for me. 1) Why have they removed the skirt pieces? For 800 bucks it is really not that much to ask for a little piece of cloth. 2) What are these faces? I'm not a fan of the diverse faces but in this case they are extremly inaccurate. This is directly based of the movie and in the entire OT, every imperial was portrayed by a man. Again, this costs 800 bucks and is supposed to be a movie accurate collectors piece, so this is huge dissappointment. 3) I think they could have thrown in the brickbuilt backpacks they used in the past. The troopers sillhouettes look kinda incomplete without them. Well, it least this makes it easier to skip it.
I had this set for nearly a year and I am just finding out all the cool features like the blasters for the snowtroopers can be put upright next to the chairs they sit in, as well as places for four speeder bikes! 😮
I just bought this set. Already have the falcon and star destroyer. Had a bad day at work and needed a boost, im so pumped for this but I have NO idea where I will display this beast
It’s nice to finally see detail inside to match the outside, also if it’s your first LEGO set yeah u might need to get more figs but let’s be honest, if your buying this one you definitely already have some hoth attack troopers(both sides)
800 bucks for legos! Woah :O that is crazy! My favorite vehicle is the UCS Republic Gunship but I'll never own it cause it's hundreds of dollars and I just can't spend that kind of money!
