+All About Lego Thank you! Haha yeah that wasn't planned at all actually. I thought the rubber band would be plenty strong enough to make a non-geared down motor shift nice and calmly. But nope, that L-motor was one heck of a lot more powerful than I anticipated😂 Oh no problem, nice to hear I managed to teach you something😅 Thank you, yeah it's a whole lot easier to be in front of the camera like in this video rather than behind, trying to reach in from behind and so on👍🙂 Yes actually, I'll probably install one of those gearboxes in my upcoming Volkswagen👍☺

Yes it is possible for the driving rings to shift while spinning so it is also possible to shift the gearbox while driving

+The LEGO Technic Mastermind Interesting question I must say. I don't actually know the answer, but maybe it's because most lego motors are kinda weak, thus most builders make the gearboxes with fairly low geared🤔🙂

The LEGO Technic Mastermind because in a traditional gearbox the engine connects to wheels and not wheel to engine so im pretty sure that wheels spin faster than in 1 than in 6th gear.And in Lego it's the same thing

I know you have made other 4 speed non-sequential gearboxes but they use the old transmission driving rings and gears but I don't have any 😀

Yes that's basically the same gearbox as the sequential one. It just lacks the sequential stepper mechanism. Instructions for this simpler one can be found at my Brixtar page as well🙂

+Jack Nystrom Thank you. Brixtar isn't fully developed just yet, which means it may not work optimally for everyone. November 1st we'll receive a major update, which will hopefully solve many problems like this. Problems like this have mostly occurred for larger models though, which makes me wonder why you're having trouble with this smaller model. May I ask, what device are you using to open the model in Brixtar?

I guess you could, but I haven't made such gearbox yet

Well, if the gear shifts are quick enough. But I usually try to shift with out running the motor

Dgustafsson13, whoops, wrong comment on vid (for some reason if I take too long to comment, it goes on the upnext vid), could you make the shifting mechanism rotating instead of shifting forward? Would be a lot easier to control with an M-motor.

Dgustafsson13, also, I had a great transmission idea. Try to make a 4, 6, or 8 speed transmission that uses a joystick on the transmission and servo motors geared down 2:1 to turn the driving rings. Then, have that exact same joystick mechanism on an IR remote. In theory, you'll be able to control the joystick on the remote just like the joystick on the transmission. Left, right, and side to side control.

Dgustafsson13 no problem. I just was wanting to build your Scania truck but with a bigger scale. (With your gearbox but with minimal changes to be operated at one side of the truck) Btw you are incredibly good at lego.
