I had no idea about the history! Thanks for sharing. The stickers on this are crazy, definitely makes me appreciate the Ferrari Daytona SP3 even more.

100%! I didn't realize how bad the stickers were - glancing at photos it seemed okay, but it might actually be the most stickers I've ever seen on a LEGO set. I really appreciate the level of care and quality they put into the technic supercars. Everything from the box, to the build, to the prints; its exactly what I want when I'm spending that much on a set

One of my favourite sets of 2023 and easily Lego's best 1:10 scale car. Great colour scheme and a very sturdy build. I left the stickers off mine, swapped out all the internal orange parts to black, and for this year I've also added a rear wing.

Ooh nice I bet that looks amazing!! I agree it's bu far the best 1:10 scale car Lego has done. And good choice on the wing! I hope the 2024 9X8 is more competitive! Drivers are already saying they feel more confident in it

The history lesson was perfect, as I didn't know about the lack of a rear wing being so controversial on this particular model. So it just makes me want it even more now 😃

Good review. It fairly captures my thoughts regarding this racer and Lego’s incredible interpretation of it. In finished form the build is truly impressive as well as a work of art. Realizing that the cost would likely have been prohibitive with printed materials, I really didn’t mind the stickers so much…just another level of challenge (which I enjoy) to go along with this kit. BTW, for such a revolutionary concept and design, I thought the Peugeot did very well at Le Mans (absent the crashes of course).

Great point about the price with respect to prints, I hadn't thought of that, actually. Yes I suppose they did do well enough considering how radical the design was. Part of me just wishes they would have tried to refine the wingless design rather than immediately revert back to a wing when things didn't work out

A very special set of a unique car! Though the design is more functional compared to cars like the Sian and there are a lot of stickers.

Awesome review! We NEED Lego to start putting lighting kits in some sets. But then they likely to just really push the prices :(

Very good point! The price is already pretty high on this one 😅 cheers!

Picked up this set last year during a 2-day Costco US flash sale. Love the car and the build. It's my only 1/10 or bigger technic build. Tempted to get the Ferrari and/or Porsche but all reviews indicate that I'll just be disappointed after having built the Peugeot first.

That's awesome! I l9ve a good flash sale. Fair point about the Porsche and Ferrari. If I may be so bold, have you thought about saving for a 1/8 scale technic car? I know they are quite expensive l, but they are just next level in pretty much every single aspect.

@@onecleverpig Yeah, I've thought about it. I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a car that I can't drive. My kids and I got into hobby grade RC cars during the pandemic and those are so much fun to build AND drive. Sadly, the local RC race track closed down and we don't have any good places to drive. But a complete kit with electronics is about the same as a 1/8 technic car -and sometimes cheaper. Again, if I catch a good sale, maybe?

I prefer the BMW M hybrid V8. It has more vibrant colours and complex shapes (especially the rear end). I'm planning to build the Technic model of it with my own LEGO pieces.

Just picked this baby up and waiting delivery. I might cut and add a transparent film to act as the windshield. Seems bare as is

That's a good idea!! It does look a little weird tbh. Enjoy the build!

The light my bricks light kit doesn't have that problem with the underglow and even if it did you know you don't have to connect every light in a light kit.
@onecleverpig

True enough! And I've heard some of the lighting kit companies are better than others. Light My Bricks seems to have good reviews. And that's true - I just don't want to be paying extra for lights I won't use, if that makes sense. Thanks for the comment!
