Hi < I do have this one and your review is spot on. I bought a second one to add and I will do a statue on it. The new one isn’t quite there for me neither. Are you going to review the new ones? The room trap with spikes would be awesome as a diorama; same as they did with trash compactor SW. looks awesome.

I wish they'd make the bridge scene at the end of the film or the spike trap and bugs

Awesome review!! Wish I got this epic set back in the day. I do have the Venice Boat Chase, and the Fighter Plane Attack sets from Last Crusade, sadly they’re both destroyed now. Still got the memories tho! I am definitely buying 3 of the new LEGO Indy sets, especially the Temple of Doom, my most anticipated one! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! I never knew about the dual-moulded lava pieces - they are so cool. I think LEGO made the best scene from the movie. Perhaps the rope bridge over the river with crocodiles could have been a fun set! How do you think the new set will affect the value of this old one?

I would love to recreate the scene where there on the old bridge with all the guards and some gaiters in the water to eat them maybe if u could find some mechanism to make the bridge fall’

as someone who saw the leaked temple of doom i can assure you that all your complaints are fixed in the new one. it had a hat hair comco for indi, the kali statue and the new rollercoaster pieces for the tracks and carts!

I have this set, still sealed in box. My fav Lego line is Indiana Jones. Good review. Loved seeing it. For me I wish they did additionally for this movie - Club Obi-Wan opening scene, with all the major characters and some fun play features especially the giant gong rolling off. - Lao Che's cargo plane set w/rubber raft and snowy hillside to have it slide down. Have the plane open up to show lot's of interior details. - Hidden passageway from Willie's room with the traps and various insects. Maybe some new insect elements can be introduced. - Rope bridge scene with play-features to knock off characters and then knock whole bridge down to crocodiles below. The Rope Bridge scene they should've and easily could've done. Very feasible, would not have been pricey and a good medium sized set with lots of play features.

It's the Thuggee. They were a group of criminals, highway robbers, murderers, etc. in India around like 14th century to 19th century. That's where we get the word 'Thug' from. Basically means deceiver, swindler.

I ended up buying the set sealed not too long ago, I’d open it but to be fair it was expensive…

I know this is kind of a long shot but LEGO has sometimes passed the PG-13 line so I think they should do it here. I would love for them to do a set on the rock crusher scene where Indy and the big Thuggee are fight on the conveyor belt. That would be cool.
