I have both Simpsons sets. I think the Kwik-E-Mart is a lot better. I wouldn’t pay too much for the house . It’s nice but like the show house, it’s not visually that interesting
$1000 in the secondary market or $150 a perfect clone from China...not a cheap clone, a 1:1 quality set. Sometimes you just have to be judicious with your money, let the free market deal with the moral qualms...This loophole wont be there forever... Might as well take advantage of it... Oh, what a time to be alive!
Saw the $400- $500 price tag with horror! Challenge accepted: spent the last several days searching out parts I have to build this! Used the download on Lego site and head doesn't seem to flop. I'm assuming they updated the digital version? Just need 13 track segments or I would have had all it needed. Used ones have been ordered! Had to substitute arm ball joints and 2 of the 4 technic pieces they double to connect the wheel frame to the body - only had 2. What a fun build! (Watching the movie stream on Disney now since never saw it originally... he's rusty! So my 3 shades of yellow to almost orange hint at rust :))
We just built this set from our own inventory and a few special pieces picked up from LEGO and through Bricklink. Total cost, about $150. We love this set! We are now piecing together the Town Hall.
I own this! Great set, but my only beef is that the roof doesn't sit very well on the house, and the front and back entrance doors to the house can't be closed if opened by mistake. Unless you don't mind prying the house apart. However, you risk breaking the house. I also have the Kwik-E-Mart. Easier build and the roof is flat. The sign was a bit of a pain to attach to the store and I broke the front, but I was able to repair it. Too bad they only did 2 sets. I would love Lego Barney's Bowlarama!
I recently found this set collecting dust under my bed. It is still factory sealed in the box with a Lego store sticker that reads $99.99. Only after some research did I discover what a grail this was.
sorry if i am complaning but the part where the ground was broken where you said it was making it look like when the containment place was leting the ghost out but that is pink mood slime from ghostbusters 2
On a different topic I buyed a Star Wars clone Barc trooper from 2011 I think for $24.99 witch is a pretty good price I’m very happy with I buyed him on 12/16/23
I recently bought the shire set from this era, and it was like building with Doritos😂 great analogy. So excited to see more of your reviews of these sets. And to see more of your online store.
Just discovered your store today as I drove by. Excited to see another LEGO focused store in Oklahoma. I've been selling some sets I want to get rid of to Bricks and Minifigs but I'm excited to visit your store the next time I'm in the city and maybe sell my next run of sets to you instead!
I still really wish we got an updated version of this set and Queen Anne's Revenge alongside the release of The Silent Mary/Slalazar's Ship from the Dead Men Tell No Tales sets and I'm honestly surprised they didn't. It felt like such a missed opportunity for Lego to not make a new and improved version of this set with all the modern pieces and techniques the company offers in newer ship sets like the recent Creator Pirate Ship and Pirates of Barracuda bay, not to mention with how sought after this set is I can almost guarantee an updated version would've sold like hotcakes.
Hey Eric, not sure if you received my email a couple months back about an idea for the channel? I think you should take the formula from the Sneaker Community and apply it to your channel. If you are not familiar with any sneaker youtubers, Common Hype, Sneak City, Heavenly Kickz, to name a few. The theme of all this is "Day in the Life of a Lego Store Owner". Put a camera by the registers, and just record people buying legos, trading legos, selling legos. Showing day to day inventory and backroom stuff. Record events at the building lounge and lego events. Not only will you grow the channel, you will also grow the business and your brand (merch, stickers, MOC sets, etc). People are going to come all over the USA to your store to be in a video or just to meet you. There are not many Lego store owners on youtube, let alone this content. I have not seen this type of content applied to the Lego community, and I truly believe people would be interested in watching. You have a unique opportunity to be the first to do it. Just wanted to give you my thoughts. Really enjoy watching the channel. Keep up the good work. Thanks for listening!
Thanks for the comment and I hadn't seen it the message until now! That's a great idea and I've been looking at how to branch out and add more to the reviews. I'm off to check out the channels you suggested as examples. :)
