Yea and it sunk from a wave and their were 29 or 39 people all men who died a massive wave almost a tsunami it then at Lake Superior in November in November it’s very stormy at Lake Superior it sunk from a wave at stern and went forward bow and went under ASAP then as it was going under the bow hit the bottom like Brittanic but it split when it hit the ground and all 29 or 39 men that died when the guys went to its wreck they knew all of the men died and they hit their bell from ship to honor all the men who died on that ship it was sooo tragic
Also they replaced the bell with a bell that has the name engraved on it of the people, who died it was hard cuz it was sunk due to waves but go visit the wreck and go to the museum and see the real bell

Titanic was actually supposed to set sail on March 10th, but since Olympic had that collision with the HMS Hawk, Titanic had to give Olympic her propeller
No way... that was the exact video that got me into Titanic when I was a kid, I used to watch it over and over. I watched the Lusitania video a bunch too, I liked the concept of a survivor of Titanic being on another ship while it sank, which led me to the real story of Violet Jessop who wasn't on Lusitania, but did survive the Britannic. My Titanic RU-vid experience just came full circle, like 12 years later, I haven't even thought about that video in years.
I have to agree with the other sentiments, Tom. I remember watching your LEGO Titanic and Lusitania videos when I was 7, and they inspired me to make my own LEGO stop motion animations and furthered my interest in ships. It’s hard to believe that was so long ago but I’m grateful to see you still in this field of study.
Fun fact about the Fitz: she was longer than the place she went down in was deep. It's likely that her bow was forced down by waves, hit the bottom, broke apart at the surface, and sank like that. She lost a lot of length when she snapped as well. I personally think it was a combination of hull damage and rogue waves that did her in. She was 23 years old when she went down and I think she was in need of dry dock repairs around that time. As for ship gender, they're referred to as female no matter what the name is. The German Navy, however, refers to their ships as males. It's just a tradition that seems to be fading just a little bit.
@@danielplowright5701 I doubt it. So very much. Not every language has gender-neutral terms. Case is point: Spanish. Nothing but gendered terms. When looking a mix of male and female anything, they default to the male terms. Just how Spanish developed.
Like the sub Kursk, to think these ships were longer than the the water they sank in was deep. We don't usually get a visual example of how deep or shallow the sea is but the lengths of these vessels show that, make it seem not that much. Tragic, all of them tragic.
I dont do anything like this anymore. I do, however, highly appreciate the times when i did, as they helped to pave the way for the maritime ship artworks of my own design for the last 26 years. They are important life skills for children and are just as good for seniors.
3:20 I like them way more since their reusable while at LEGO you always have to fold them or something to reuse them so most people put them to waste and into the environment - thank you Histobrick :)
Tom i am on my knees, please reupload the lego Titanic. Every day i used to religiously watch it, praying as it played on my TV. When i heard it was removed i was smashed into a deep religious depression.
I was actually going to buy one but when i saw $270 for one of these that is way to much for what your getting. I understand its an indie brand but that is just too much
I've been more than active with Lego for the last 40 years and I have to say I'm quite shocked! Almost had me sold for fun kits for my son this Christmas. Then I saw the price...yikes! Purchasing a copy of the instructions and procuring the pieces on Bricklink would be a fraction of the cost. Perhaps that should be included as an option.
I like your comment about kids not building plastic model kits anymore, That's all there was when I was a kid back in the 60's and 70's (no vid games) , And whether it was my carrier field in the Air Force or whatever i now do in my older age of life, I attribute my ability to easily fallow complicated instructions and paying attention to detail to all the model kits I enjoyed building in my youth. And now that I'm getting ready to retire, I'm looking forward after 30 some years in getting back into building model kits. I might even go after that big Trumpeter Titanic model.. Actually had a big Titanic kit for Christmas one year but I was way too young to do anything with it but sloppily glue it together then take it to our little plastic swimming pool and play hit the Ice Berg
Dang, Tom...Kabar! Now that's a knife! As someone who lives on the shores of Lake Erie, I'm tempted to purchase the Edmund Fitzgerald model. But instead, I'm heading on over to Steam to download a copy of 'Britannic: Patroness of the Mediterranean' for now. And very smooth background music, BTW.
I remember building custom LEGO Titanics as a kid. I always wanted an official LEGO Titanic set. I own the Oxford and Cobi kits do and this one definitely looks a lot more accurate.
I have the smaller of the two COBI kits, and I like it, but the bright orange funnels annoy me a little, and the fact that some of the pieces make an iceberg feels like questionable taste. (I can already hear half of the Internet's shining wits asking solicitously, "Too soon?")
I am really fascinated about you seeing assemble these hundreds of small tiny pieces in place to build a ship, you are an expert meanwhile! I have a hobby too, which my colleagues call crazy, Diamond Painting, where you have to put hundreds and thousands of little pearls on a canvas, but it's intrigiung to me to see you handle like this, I think I would be lost even with the description in the booklets. Great!!!! I would love to see more of these. 👏
I’ve seen your Lego Titanic movie when I was probably ten. It was really great, maybe one day you might recreate it with new Titanic model. Not only that, I also seen Lego Lusitania.
Discovered today that you made thee Titanic and Lusitania stop motion films and I watched them to death as a kid and is probably why I'm a ship nerd today.
That was you? I recall watching that LEGO Titanic video and the Lusitania video over and over! Heck, I remember trying to recreate scenes with my own LEGO bricks back in the day! Talk about small world..
Hopefully the reason these sets cost so much is to properly fund Histobricks until it becomes a larger business, because I know LEGO, and sets that have a piece count of around 700 tend to cost around $60-$80, not $260. I hope these can become more affordable, because I really think these models are excellent. But for $260, I could get the four sets from LEGO I really want and spare $40.
"now we have a plethora of plates to place in place...That sentence made sense you know" hahahahaha that gave me a good laugh. I had absolutely no idea that companies were allowed to take pieces of Lego, build their own kits, and then sell them. I'm sure they have agreements and contracts and all that jazz, but that is SO cool! I'm only 13 minutes in, I'm so stoked to see what the SS Edmund Fitzgerald looks like! when I was young my dad would play me the Edmund Fitzgerald song by Girdon Lightfoot all the time and tell me the story of what happened. I miss that. RIP dad, I love you. on a lighter note, this is a bad ass channel dude!
another theory haw she sank is maybe cause of the three sisters. the three sisters are 3 massive wave that are very hard to maneuver out of the way. the three sisters are also possible to have sank the “Bannockburn”, a ghost ship that sank on the great lakes long ago.
with the size of the edmund fitzgerald it looks like the seawise giant, great kits, I can't imagine sorting those out so that each kit has all the pieces
This company needs to be careful about what they call "LEGO." White there might be official LEGO bricks in these kits, there are certainly some parts that do not appear to be in the official LEGO catalog. LEGO can be pretty serious about misrepresentation of their IP.
I like the whole historical lego thing. Even at 37, I would totally still do it if it wasn't in the hundreds of fucking dollars to do. Like holy shit guy are they fucking serious with these numbers?
Tom I myself am I huge titanic fan. Im making a Titanic film myself a stop motion film to be exact. As of now the only thing I have done are the main scenes Iceberg Break up. Currently until I get more figures I might not be able to make any scenes involving passengers. but there will be lifeboats
Just subscribed to the channel. I myself have built a LEGO replica of the Titanic. I built it out of pure imagination. I’m in the process of building a replica of the HMHS Britannic. To do that, I’m using my Titanic as a reference
I've been following your channel since your Lego Titanic and Lusitania animation, I still remember watching them constantly and wishing I could make my own. You mentioned you were working on Lego Britannic, how far did you get with that? Just a general script or did you start animating before your other videos got taken down?
My dad got me into Titanic when I was four because I was watching Octonauts with a sunken ship episode and then he showed me a RU-vid video and I was intrigued
Edmund Fitzgerald's three central cargo holds were loaded through 21 watertight cargo hatches, each 11 by 48 feet (3.4 by 14.6 m) of 5⁄16-inch-thick (7.9 mm) steel. Originally coal-fired, her boilers were converted to burn oil during the 1971-72 winter layup.
I agree the Lego Titanic is what got me into the history of the ship and that's the same for the Lusitania. I believe the Edmund Fitzgerald had 21 hatches
