Awesome! Your old devestator inspried me to try making a G1 devestator; it's heavily based on the original g1 toys, so it's a bit blocky and not fully articulated X3 This is a really cool improvement, I love the alternate forms you can swap in! That kind of customizability is always super cool
I love how this is episode 69. Because along with it being the funny number, 69 is also the number for the Studio Series Devastator box set. Whether this was intentional or coincidental, it's amazing lmao
This Devastator is glorious! Although I still wonder how you would tackle a 1:1 (with your other figures) scale Lego Devastator with both vehicle and robot modes…
i really respect this guy. He always tried to improve his works. Btw this model is epic, i never see any other ytb can make the devastator head like this.
I’m actually trying to build a Lego G1 style Devastator with about deluxe/voyager scale individual members. So far I’ve got a completed Long Haul and Hook, and am working on Scrapper right now.
Imagine if combiners just had a singular vehicle mode. Like Devastator, could totally have a vehicle that's just like an openable cement drum with a few shovels and crane arms to lift stuff into it, with a bulldozer shovel in front, wheels in front and treads in back.
If you want a Vortex Grinder-type function (for those wondering) you could take the mouth joints and split them to give the illusion of the face and mouth opening!
Especially since Hasbro are taking their sweet time releasing a white repaint of Studio Series Scavenger, especially when it's just such an easy cash grab. They're probably gonna wait for the mold to get extremely overpriced to release something, like they did with Skipjack.
You're right in making buckethead the hand, versus the SS version, but scrapmetal actually makes the left shoulder, so the left arm is actually made of three parts. So maybe, if you make a V3, or, like, a V2.5, you could add scrapmetal for the shoulder. Other than that, though, it's pretty much perfect.
This looks PRETTY doable so I might try to build it tomorrow (even though I probably won’t have the pieces in the specific colours or even some of the pieces but I think the pieces I don’t have I can easy substitute for pieces similar)
Your Devastator looks awesome! I am trying to build it at home but don't have a lot of pieces go begin with, so I am looking to buy the pieces that I need. Would there be any chance to release a parts list or build instructions for each of the smaller transformers that make up Devastator?
Personally I would have made Scrapmetal part of the combination as he is seen in the combining scene, but other than that this is the best movie Devastator committed to plastic and I need it in my life. You really improved it over the last.
This looks amazing!!! This is the best Lego Devastator i have seen, and I am surprised you put in this much detail into him. Will you be adding a tutorial for him someday because that would be awesome. Great job!!!
To me roll outs is a little bit easier than this one, but it is very accurate from the movie but its a very close call to rollouts -P.S, I am subbed to both rollout and student scissors :)
Your ability to get detail and features into such small builds is genuinely incredible. A request I’d love to see, Jetfire from Revenge of the Fallen. He was always my favourite. And he’s a Blackbird. Pretty please?
How often do you use "illegal" building techniques when designing these? I noticed in Overload, you use an axel piece in the middle of a brick which is technically illegal but it works and it looks good
For Scavenger/Demolisher, on the mechanical excavator arm, how did you get the two 2x1 curved pieces to go on both sides of the pinhole plate piece? I'm trying to build it for myself and that part of the arm has stumped me; I could only figure out how to get the curved piece to go on one side, but not both. Any help would be much appreciated!
For scrap metal I think that a black 1 by 3 brick would work better for the treads it would fix the teater totter and make the treads much more proportionate but I you want them to be rubber
Man. Such a cool and clever transformation you made. Though my autistic itch is bellowing how all the left limbs are one bot while the right are two bots… Idk why that urchs me so much
