Today we goto Chattanooga Tennessee and take the Leica CL digital mirrorless camera and mount the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.4 M mount lens on it. We accomplish this feat of engineering by using the Leica M Adapter L device to convert the Leica CL camera mount from the L mount to the M mount so the lens will fit. I go on a short walk down to 4th to get some photos of the project in the works there and then also grab a photo or two of the Chattanooga Bank Building as well before heading back to the truck.
Thank you for watching and you can visit my website for more information about me.

Hi David, I feel sorry for your mishaps, it's the only time I've heard you not super joyful. I guess the street with the water leak was in a very bad spot (too)... but it is really nice to hear from you again. Nice pictures, the building with the tree in the sky is really beautiful !! Maybe fiddling around with shutter speed and low angle might have given a special effect on the water leak event? But all nice pics. Thanks for taking us along! Good luck with the truck repairs. Yesterday, I got myself a 33 year old BMW R100GS in very good condition, and I'll do some big maintenance and TLC on it today. Take care 🙂 ❤

Thank you Peter, I so appreciate your kind words. I am hoping to get back into a regular groove now and figure out an upload schedule that is maintainable as well as consistent. I will figure it out at some point.

No Aurora appeared last night. So typical, the night I’m all prepared with gear and nothing to photograph.

Had a photo walk with my a7rii and TTartisan 50mm f2 yesterday and agree about using a prime over the zoom. Just used zone focus and enjoyed talking the photos. Never missed auto focus. I've started carrying a couple of sticking plasters in my pocket since starting on blood thinners last year. Old age is great fun!

The bandaid idea is valid. I am fortunate that I am not on bloodthnners at this point, but bleeding is still a problem and homebrew bandages just looks rough... haha. Thank you! Glad you are also enjoying some TTArtisan goodness, that would be a joy to shoot with.

Just got back from Paragould, AR. 35mm was the only lens I took. Not always my first choice, but I really enjoyed the focal length. Sorry about all the troubles you had!!

I have now went on several trips and took a 35mm and a 17mm and nothing else. I honestly could leave the 17mm at home too, but I have this desire in the back of my mind to shoot either close or landscapes... Thank you!

Oh man David, sounds like you had one of “those” days. I have had that before. But, “it could have been worse,” is what I always say. You ended up getting some good shots in either way, so all was not so bad. You guys seem to always have some sort of construction going on in Chattanooga. Lumix is about to introduce a small compact FF in about a week or so, so says the rumor mill. It is meant for vloggers. Could be an interesting camera though.

Thank you Hassan, Yes, Chattanooga is in perpetual construction... lol. It does give me something to photograph though, so like you said, it isnt all bad. HAHA. I am curious to see this new Lumix camera. I still want a Zf as well as a D850 now so I can have autofocus with my 105 f2... uggg too many first world problems I guess.

I love the sensor and images out of the CL. Too bad Leica decided to abandon it. What I wish they'd do, is for example provide a service for an internal upgrade and install IBIS in it :) That would make it the perfect street camera (maybe install a tilting screen if that is doable considering the laws of physics and etc hehe)
@davidsaylors
@davidsaylors 4 месяца назад
I came to the CL from. Fuji XT3 and I will admit that I miss the tilting screen from time to time. The lack of IBIS has not been a problem though. I just run higher shutter speed and float the ISO with Auto and call it good. I see your point though, IBIS would have been nice to have. I too am a little sad that they decided to drop the CL, I guess it just wasn’t selling like it should have been…🤷🏻‍♂️ It is a great little camera and I am using it today. Today it is wearing the Voigtlander 35mm f1.4 Nokton classic M mount via the M Adapter L. That also proves to be a wonderful combination.

David 35mm is one of my favorite focal lengths on my APS-C cameras I have 2.2 autofocus lens and a Takumar 35mm 3.5 manuel focus lens. I use these lenses more than 50 mm lenses
@davidsaylors
@davidsaylors 4 месяца назад
Mine too. Started out with 50 to 58mm on crop sensor and have now progresses to 35mm, but the real challenge for me is to get to 17mm on crop sensor cameras...that will be a big move right there.

@@davidsaylors David Try 14mm 2.8 that's what I used to photograph the Milky Way I bought the Rokinon 14mm2.8 mainly to photograph the Milky Way and it did work great on a 20 second exposure on a APS-C camera
