Lemon Cypress was one of my favorite plants this past growing season and I am so happy that I can continue to enjoy them indoors throughout the winter months.

Omg I’m totally going to do this. I love lemon cypress! I didn’t even think about bringing them inside over winter.

Added Lemon Cypress to my list for new things to try in 2024. I might brave David Austin roses per your influence in zone 3, but a Polar Vortex in my zone 4 winter will kill them.

Hopefully my David Austin roses will survive the winter! This is my first year trying to grow them and I reached out to the company about winter protection and this is what they sent me… “Thank you for reaching out to us with your enquiry. There are a handful of roses that are suggested for zone 4 locations however some of our hardier varieties with eh higher petal count would be Princess Anne or Lady of Shalott There are steps that you can take to help prepare and protect your roses for winter. If you have potted roses, we suggest topping up the soil to ensure the crown of the root is covered and protected and then add a good layer of mulch, up into the lower stems. If temperatures are extreme over Winter then you could also wrap the rose with gardeners fleece or burlap to protect it from wind chill and the weight of any snow fall. Protecting the stems can help you to grow a rose in a harsher climate than recommended.” That’s what they sent me in an email so that gives me hope with the proper steps they will do well! I just have to find something that I can wrap them in.

I’ve always loved them but I never bought them since I’m a 6b. Maybe I’ll get one next year and bring it inside.
