From the time I was a child, Easter meant first of all, starting the easter dinner on Saturday, because Sunday would be so busy for all the church services and special events. My mom was the piano player at our church and a Sunday school teacher and my dad was a teacher and the Cub scout leader. so Easter started with sunrise service. we would go to church before the sun rose and sing, 'He arose' and many great songs, we then had a type of short Sunday school, then we had breakfast at the church then on to Sunday school, then a short play, then the little kids walked in and sang for the adults, then on to church service and home to dinner. Mom would have made small Easter baskets up for all of us kids, and had most of the dinner made, ham in the oven, making biscuits, the potato salad, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc then on to Pies, cake, desserts, then we would sit down as a family and watch tv. On Easter the movie "The Robe" and "The Ten Commandments" was on every year (if I remember right). Easter was one of my favorite seasons. Some years all the relatives would come (not many of mine were Christians, so they came only for dinner) have dinner, and visit. I have such great memories and of course pictures of everyone in their Easter outfits. We were kind of not poor but not wealthy, but every year I got a new dress, hat, socks with frilly ankles, white gloves, and wore white patent leather shoes. Many great memories.
I love lemon too! But wouldn’t u know my husband doesn’t like it as much as I do! But I still cook lemon recipes n hopes he will learn to appreciate them.

I think of family sharing in Easter service to celebrate our Lord's resurrection. Then Lamb roast, followed with Chocolate dessert filled with small Easter eggs. Yum. Will try your Lemon Rolls Easter Friday. Yum yum.😊😊❤❤

I have never heard of lemon rolls now. I heard of cinnamon rolls were not limited but I love limits. So I'm glad to make them now and gained them away. Oh my goodness! These look so delicious! We eat ham for Easter as well for as far back as I can remember. I think once or twice after I got married and took over the holidays, I made a leg of Lamb also. Now, everyone is passed on except my brother & I & his 3 boys. Even my husband passed away 3 years ago 2 months after his 62nd birthday. Then, 3 months later, my dad passed away.

It was a bit involved but sometimes we like to have a homemade roll over ones that come prepackaged in a canister at the store. We appreciate the convenience of them, but it's nice to have really good, homemade ones and it's worth the extra effort if you have the time. We sure appreciate that you are joining us a the table.

I love this recipe and all others on your channel. This is my favorite food period. My Mom was known for her dressing. She took her chicken broth, onions and celery and boiled them. She added it hot to the dry ingredients She had seasoned in the big bowl. We called it 'hot dressing'--you will cringe to know she then carefully added 3 raw eggs, tempered so they would not scramble. Cooked in cast iron huge deep skillet. Dotted with butter, then baked. The butter made it so golden brown. I have gone back and liked all your videos--I adore your cooking.❤

I made these today. These are fabulous. I ate it warm, not hot. I like ham on Easter. My son doesn’t like ham because his step mother forced him to eat it.
Boy that’s an old Tupperware bowl! I have some like that too! Tupperware is the only thing I had in my hope chest for years! Do y’all remember hope chests? Girls would start saving things for their kitchen and homes so when they married they would have a big head start. This custom must have started before wedding showers became popular. And I love that juicer! Old school! lol I love anything lemon in the spring and summertime. And now you’re testing my baking skills making this dough. I do like a good challenge but baking has been my fear! But I’m up for it to make lemon rolls! Thanks for this wonderful recipe! I appreciate the tip about the light bulb in the oven to make the dough rise! I looked it up! 1/4 +1/8=3/8ths cup or 6 tablespoons.

Those look addictive! Please make Mountain Dew lemon salad. It is a layer of lemon mellow made with Mountain Dew then pineapple tidbits and bananas. A layer of lemon pie filling and cool whip. It reminds me of spring and Easter.
