The Lençóis Maranhenses national park is located in the north of São Luís in Brazil. It looks like a desert where the temperatures can reach as high as 45°. But nevertheless, it’s a rainy region and we can find a multitude of lakes there. Jivalnido Miranda is one of the rare biologists who studies the surprising ecosystem of this hostile environment. Him and his two students are trying to understand this exceptional nature.
