@Robert Gardea I think people have different interpretations for statemants and I wanted to hear his interpretation and heard yours instead you know your interpretation is not inclusive to everyone right
I so remember this! My parents, my sister and I watched this together when I was very young. The Lawrence Welk show takes me back to simpler times and my Mom and Dad 🙏❤️❤️
y’all act like EVERY artist now just talks about sex and drugs. Look up some not mainstream/underrated artist and you’ll find positive and meaningful songs.
@@-hv4mg429 WAP is meaningful too it encourages people to have sex and populate more of the world. It encourages people to be sluts and being a slut will get you anywhere in life
songs are still full of meaning and positivity, but you choose to focus on the negative. I dont want to go back to the times were black people were lynched without consequences - the "good old years" were only good for the weathy and white.
@@violinlover4255 In my "white world" I had 11 wonderful colored friends from all over Detroit graciously invited and appreciated at my 17th B'day party 52 yrs ago. It was a different world - not "differed" by them, btw - that's the important part.
as much as I love you? no, as much as we ALL love YOU, beloved Lennon sisters! what a tremendous rendition of this song, thank you Lennon sisters for making my day with this, you''ll all be singing for God some day and he'll be even more pleased each time, even more than Mr Welk always was!
A beautiful choir of Angels with truly heavenly voices.........they touch my heart. They deliver a wonderful message with a completely charming blend of sweetness. I just wanna listen to them over and over......
Kathy, Peggy, Janet and Dianne. What a great female group. Beautiful and talented, even though it was many years ago. I've always loved them, but I think they were the best when all 4 of them sang together.
Always the best!!! So beautiful and talented. My mom and dad turned on Lawrence Well every Saturday Evening to watch these lovely ladies and all the rest of the talent on the show. So many great memories of those Sat evenings sitting around the TV with my mom and dad who have been deceased for a long time. Miss them and those Saturday evenings around the TV. We loved Dianne Peggy Kath and Janet. And I still do
I'm very new to discovering the Lennon sisters and I find them absolutely adorable!! They also sing so beautifully and look like they really really enjoy performing together! Thanks for sharing!!:)
Now that's beautiful singing. I remember seeing the Lennon Sisters on the Lawrence Welk Show many times in the mid 1960s - those were the years when women really dressed well, pretty hair styles and acted like ladies.
May you always walk in sunshine Slumber warm when night winds blow May you always live with laughter For a smile becomes you so May good fortune find your doorway May the bluebird sing your song May no trouble travel your way May no worry stay too long May your heartaches be forgotten May no tears be spilled May old acquaintance be remembered And your cup of kindness filled And may always be a dreamer May your wildest dream come true May you find someone to love As much as I love you And may always be a dreamer May your wildest dream come true May you find someone to love As much as I love you
Out of probably hundreds, May You Always ,,,,,, is one of the girls favorite songs. Perfectly suits their amazing voices!! Melodies, how they sing, are incredible.
Their "sound" is one of the most distinctive in the music world and also one of the easiest to listen to. They enhance every song they sing. Thank you for the years of good music!!
The Lawrence show I have always liked. The Lennon sisters are so talented, love to hear them sing, and treasure their music I have. Thanks for sharing. 🎶❤️
As a young girl would watch them with my mom and sisters and argue about which sister was the prettiest. My mom liked Peggy, my sisters Janet, and I thought Kathy was the prettiest. Needless to say it's hard to choose as they are all so pretty!
I avoided Lawrence Welk like the plague when I was a kid, but listening to these women now, my God, it's eerie, if not mystical, how perfectly their voices blend together. What a spectacular sound!
Me too! But now, in my late 50s, I'm reminded of the grandmothers who watched Lawrence Welk and I miss them. I don't recall hearing the Lennon sisters, but now I respect their craft and the work it must take to harmonize like this.
@@mikezylstra7514 Wonder if you'd go to Africa and wonder about how everyone's "too black," or to Japan and bitch about everyone being "too Asian." Racist ass.
Wow, sounds great. Janet is just a year older than I am, and I have to remember she has grandkids too. I am glad you enjoyed the concert. Wonderful that their family tradition of singing continues. Their dad would have been proud of that. Thanks for answering.
I am so very glad that I was born in time to listen and watch these singers, and hear the best musics ever written and recorded for all you peeps who missed out on growing up with all this GREAT MUSIC AND SINGERS.........
I grew up listening to and loving the Lennon Sisters. As a child, I never missed Lawrence Welk on Saturday night, ONLY to see these pretty and sweet young girls sing in perfect harmony, like no one else. This is real music.....beautifully made by extremely talented sisters, Diane, Peggy, Kathy and Janet. God Bless them!!
Starts from my Grandparents and my parents loving vintage songs of 120s to 1960s, Now I really still love them :) since I born, having a beautiful day and a warm day like it's 1950s, justo so so beautiful :) I really love this song, sending love as a Biggest fan of them!! :)
I grew up with the Lennon sisters (via TV). I just emailed "May You Always" song to my adult grandson who lives on the west coast...and I live on the east coast. Had to chock back tears while listening as I love him so much. The music back in my day had something to say!
Theres nothing to do with yr skin colour bcoz music has no boundaries. Black singers of that era were also phenomenal....i really love this kind of songs....
I was very young, but I remember watching Larwence Welk on Sat. evenings with my parents...The biggest memory...The Saturday evening before Easter..After the show my mom would fix cups to dye Easter eggs..I think the movie Ben Hur with Charlton Heston would come on later..good memories!
I think that skit is hilarious! It doesn't mock them, it's just supposed to be bizarre and funny. And most importantly, it's what led me to discover the Lennon sisters. I'm only 21, and if it weren't for the skit I never would have heard of them, and I'm so glad I did! They're amazing and timeless.
Grew-up watching the Lennon sisters on the Lawrence Welk's program. They all were blessed with beautiful voices. Love and enjoyed them all. Miss them days.
My oldest sister could have been added in with these girls and she would have fit right in. Miss you Colleen 😇🥰‼️ Every time I hear these sisters, it reminds me of when my two oldest sisters sang “Mansion Over the Hilltop” together at St. Bonaventure College in western N.Y. when they were age 12 and 13.
I have to say... when I was a little kid, late 50's or early 60's, I used to hear these girls come on TV (Lawrence Welk), and I'd come running to watch them. I'm Still in-love with them!
The Lennon sisters bring back a lot of fond memories when my mom, dad and aunt were alive. We used to watch the Lawrence Welker show to deter and ever so often, these beautiful sisters would sing. They are one of the best. Thank you for downloading these videos . They bring back memories of our family then. No singer nowadays could ever duplicate such music that truly touches the heart.
Loved their tight harmony. And yet, it is enjoyable listening to their little solo sections. Together they sing as one but they definitely had variation among their voices.
I grew up with the Lennon Sisters, and even played Diane in our school talent show! They were my idols as a child, and I never missed them on the Lawrence Welk show. That was a long time ago...because I'm turning 73 in February 🎶🎵🎶🙋♀️❤🙏🇺🇸🥰🎶🎵🎶
+katesgram You have it, so very lovely, real music, sadly us older ones who grew up with this post war era will be long gone before it if ever rolls around again...
Do you think it will ever roll around again? I hope so. My grandchildren have no idea what life used to be like before political correctness and promiscuity. These were real ladies…strange by today's standards.
"Political correctness" is just another term for respect, which is something the anti-political correctness crowd doesn't seem to understand and apparently never will.
I loved watching The Lennon Sisters on the Lawrence Welk show when I was a little girl. Janet was my favorite. I had one of their albums and played it over and over.
There are magic moments like this that will never age - it's still as fresh as it was back in the late 60s (someone please correct me if I'm wrong there).
