I would encourage everyone to go and actually watch Lenny Bruce or listen to some of his stand up. Luke Kirby is amazing bringing him back to life and Lenny Bruce was hysterical.
Their relationship, up until and including season three, reminds me of the relationship I had with my best friend. Lost him this year after 36 years and when I see these two it will always remind me of us.
Lenny and Maisel's friendship is the companionship I'm looking for my whole life. Someone who gets my joke, we run into each other cuz we have the same passion, we both travel alot, we perform for a living, we don't take anything seriously, there's no sexual tension between us, we cheer for each other and we understand each other's struggle.
@@raramama Seconding this. The big dance scene and “almost” moment at the hotel seem to say that the writers see it too. They can’t put it onscreen (since he was a real man), but they gave us a wink and nod with that episode.
they are equals , intellectually, and in all the ways that matter ......he really sees her , understands her where none of the other men in her life do & he is willing to let her do things on her own time line no matter how wretched he feels when she doesn't seem to care for him ..........but I think she does care for him she is just too scared to face it so she pretends it is all just friends & lightness ........Midge has a bit of growing up to do I just hope she doesn't leave it too long as his heart is already starting to break
@@lavenderdream4117 my comments are made 2 years ago before season 4 premiere at 18 Feb. 2022. As we all know the writers continue to write as the show continue to shoot, they listen to the public and give these 2 a shot. However by the time I made that comment, the crews showed minimal into making them a couple, originally in season 1 and 2, I only see pure friendship between them.
Great video! The only scene missing that I can remember is when he says WAS I SUPPOSED TO MAKE A PASS AT YOU?! 😂😂😂 I wish Lenny was fictional. Their chemistry is some of the best I’ve ever seen on TV.
he can be as fictional as the writers make him .......why have a real life character in a cast of fictional ones ?? I want to see them give fictional Lenny the life the real Lenny never had .......and the real one never had a Midge & her clan anyway so why not play out the fiction & give him some peace ????
So there was a wreath in the lower left corner! LOL Incidentally, Madge shows up to his Steve Allen taping wearing Red/Green Christmas colors as well! Other favorite moments: The Tennessee Williams argument makes me laugh so hard, never gets old. And why do I love when he mouths that Benjamin "is gorgeous"? Found that so cute.
I love when he says he brought someone with him that he loves ...almost as much as he loves himself & then introduces her as is wife or sister ...........they really need to do a duo show it would be hysterical the feed off each others lines so well it is magic
it is like he is channelling Lenny during his entire performance ........totally should have had way more screen time ....did they not see the insane chemistry these two have on screen ???
I don't think I've ever laughed at any of Midge's jokes or performances. Not once. Whereas as soon as Lenny appears, he immediately brings a grin to my face.
lol earlier she held up a donut & he says you'll spoil your dinner then she holds up another one & he shakes his head ....then when the two women sit beside him he looks at Midge & points to the two women & she holds up the two donuts intertwined ...& Lenny laughs out loud .........it is really cute
