well most my clips broke from my bottom cover while being very careful but my ram is upgraded 😅 thanks for the video better than most on youtube most people just cut the footage where they struggle and say it's very easy

Thank you sooooooo much for this! I found this laptop very difficult to open and work with. I'm still within the return period, so was trying my best to not open the unit, but the poultry 8GB of RAM needed to be upgraded to 64GB. I just couldn't help myself, and decided to pop the bottom off. It was an absolute nightmare trying to remove the bottom. Wish I had seen this video before I started pulling mine apart. I absolutely love this laptop. I use mine as a Linux workstation - works very well. Love the keyboard, love the 144Hz display (makes everything so smooth), love the silence (doesn't sound like a hair-dryer), love the way you can upgrade RAM/drives/network card. BTW - I have the model with the 80W battery. You can upgrade the 60W battery to an 80W battery, but you have to remove the 2.5 inch bay in order to do so.

The 2nd M.2 does NVMe. Also, based on how its been layed out. You can install EITHER a 2.5" 7mm thick drive OR an M.2 drive, but not both

You managed to get the back off without breaking any clips? Also there is an option in BIOS to disable the battery for servicing which is cool. I'm upgrading my RAM today

Quick question, given it's my first expensive laptop. What exactly is the normal wear and tear? I ask this because I broke one of the tiny hatches of the bottom panel (those tiny fragile tabs that click when assembling/disassembling it). No matter how careful I was, it was unavoidable. Not only this, but using a flashlight, I can see that the laptop was not tightly closed on neither side between the bottom cover and the laptop itself (it has a clearance of 0.5 mm, perhaps a bit less). Anyway, to sum it up. A friend says that I should stop worrying so much given it's plastic, and no matter how careful one is, certain amount of damage is unavoidable. So, I guess this is normal wear and tear? Thank you for any response. Awesome video btw. :D

Does the panel have the laptops serial number on it? Also can you swap the whole screen lid with the plastic surround or do you have to do just the panel? Thanks for a good vid though

part of my laptop screen would randomly go black if my display was moved, i am assuming the display connector is lose because when i push on it, it fixes it for sometime.

A very important warning and probably common sense is, is to remove the battery before taking out the LCD cable. If you don't do this, you will short your motherboard and your laptop will be destroyed. This is what happened to my lenovo legion 5p due to my carelessness.

how u deal with a stock screw? I have one, with the SATA storage, near on 2nd m.2 slot, the screw is stock and I can't upgrade or put my extra SATA storage

Alright I have a problem, unscrewing the cover screws seems outright impossible, I tried with both jss1 and jss0 and I only could take out 5 screws the 9ther ones just won't move, and I'm afraid I may have stripped two of the upper ones

Hi, nice video. My current Legion 5 has a screen artifact that is bothering me, i did try connecting to external monitor and the screen artifact didn't duplicate at external monitor. So maybe I'm thinking my laptop display is defective, can i fix it myself like reattaching the lcd connector, or should i bring it to service center for a lcd display replacement? HELP HELP HELP PLEASEEEEEEE : I have installed an SSD Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB in the second slot, but the sequential speed is half of what it is supposed to be, the speed should be 3.500 MB/s but I only reach about 1.750 MB/s. According CrystanDiskInfo the transfer mode is PCIe 3.0 x2 while it support PCIe 3.0 x4. Could it be a Samsung problem ? Or is the PC that allows only 1TB SSD ?
