If you see dust in the FAN please CLEAN IT ALSO!! A easy way to fix the FAN-error! If it will not work please go to method two: • Lenovo Thinkpad T410 F... .
Thanks a lot. I got the whole laptop dismantled to change the fan, then saw your video. I put it all back together, fiddled with the screw. Hey presto.... its working. You are a life saver. Thanks.
My computer has been down for at least 6 month's because I was debating on replacing the fan myself or taking it to the shop. Luckily while working from home today and I decided to revisit this issue and found your video! Thanks a million!!!
Your Method 1 with my vacuum cleaner on the fan fixed my problem. TWO Beeps the Fan error message and the Laptop would shut down. Wow Thanks! I can't believe this repaired the problem.
This worked like a charm! Mine has been broken for about 2 plus years, but I didn't want to have to buy the part and take anything apart to fix it based on the youtube videos I searched for during that time, so there it sat. Then yesterday, as I looked at it on the desk in my office, I decided to search again, and game across your video, and Voila! Weird or crazy part is that I was telling my wife and teenager this story and as soon as I mentioned "fan error", he told me that he had just experienced the exact same thing on his T410, which I honestly didn't know he still used. Needless to say, we both applied Method 1 to fix both of our pc's (we had to play with the screw a little more on his, but we got it to work). I just installed Windows 10 on mine and just ordered another 4 GB of ram! I was a click away from ordering another pc yesterday, right before deciding to revive mine again. Many thanks!
This worked for me. I had to open and close it about 20-25times but it did work. i was able to repair my laptop in 5min. Thank you so much for uploading this. subscribed!! I also used compressed air to clean it before trying this and that did not work, but i would still recommend cleaning it.
Method 3 : when you start, you can also simply push on the "THINKVANTAGE" Blue Button, then "ESC" to simply go out from the Bios-Setup, and Windows will Load without any trouble, the soft will going Up through the Hard-Fan Error :-) MAGICAL !
Worked a charm! Used same principle for a T40. 4 keyboard screws, remove keyboard at connector. Then remove 3 fan/heatsink screws. Lift assembly, then replace heatsink/fan assembly. Reassemble.
Worked very well and easy. Also applied the meth2. Plus used some air duster sprays to clean the fan and components from dust. All running now, system is back.
Thank you, this worked for me. I was about to dismantle this T410, fortunate I took a search at RU-vid. It saved me alot of time, money and stress. Very helpful :- )
Thanks so much, PoxyXPPC. It's true that the first fix to try is just blowing into the fan vent. But when that doesn't work, this is definitely the best Plan B. And I haven't come across this fix anywhere else.
Thank you so much, the video got my laptop working, I did both your videos plus took and air can and blew it into the fan and a bunch of dust flew out. Thank you so much!
Many Thanks! I did it exactly according to your instructions. It worked!!! Long live the internet! Long live RU-vid! And a cheer for the uploader !!!! Greeting from Germany......
Hi roxy, my t410 was working fine but i decided to open it and clean the fan, i also changed the thermal paste with a new one. The one paste was cooked like biscuit. Anyway, i don't have a problem with the fan not running but it tends to run and make noise even with windows boot up. Before this procedure, i couldn't even hear fan noise. If you have some suggestions, it is very welcome. Thanks for the video !
I get this error, too. But only from time to time. By now my stupid fix has always worked: Turn the TP upside down after powering on and leave it closed until it is past BIOS.
It didn't work for my T480, but after i manually rotated the fan blades back and forth several times.....the problem is solved. anyway, your video helped me a lot on how to open the keyboard. Thank you
Thank you! opening up and clearing with can of air was key! I cleaned both around the fan and then all vents and ports! Worked like a charm ... and now my Linux Mint (linuxmint.org/) laptop is running like a charm!
