This device is SO SICK!!! how am i just seeing one of these in Bestbuy for the first time. OMG this is so freakin cool and versatile. I have the laptop sitting on the arm of my man cave chair and the keyboard on my lap typing this comment. Just gotta find out how to setup different pages on each of the screens more seamlessly. SO many ways to attack work and be productive. Thank you Lenovo for bringing this out in the DOPE color blue. Good to see some colors other than silver, grey and black.
Are they doing a refresh in 2024? I own it I love it id like a newer processor a little faster, black color and a 14.4 inch dual display and a physical magnetic trackpad attached to the keyboard like the one on the hp foldable laptop
I wasn't considering a Lenovo Laptop for creative work, but if they can include at rtx card in this slim format in future models, they could win me over - although that seems unlikely for another few years.
one thing reviewers not very often mentioned that the device has been passed the EVO benchmarking which helps tremendously to decide whether if this is a more functional device to go for
It's a groundbreaking product. Beautifully engineered and made. Great for normal productivity & multi-tasking. Excellent speakers, webcam, & a superb inbuilt microphone array. Nice review AMD, you should do some dance moves on the speaker test in your shades lol!
Nice computer for those who need and want something different. I realize you make these videos before you release them on Monday morning. Best Buy changes their prices and sales on Monday morning. As a result most if not all these computers you show at Best Buy are not on sale anymore. I think you might want to look closer at this before you show these Best Buy prices of these computers when you release a video on a Monday Morning. Just a thought. Anyway great review of this Lenovo computer.
Just wished Lenovo went with the Ryzen processors with apu, the graphics performance would be the equivalent of the gtx1650 which is powerful enough to play AAA games in a slim package such as this
How is the experience using it outdoors, at an outside cafe or park bench? Low nits + reflective probably means it's impossible to see anything on the screens, and if you stick a matte protector you'll have even lower brightness.
I have the 2024 version with 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD - I love this thing! It serves my needs perfectly. Excellent design and build. The fluidity of the dual screens and the oled colour is exceptional
Can you give an update? How would you rate it compared to a MacBook Pro (if you have experience to make that comparison) Would you recommend it for a college student over other options??
Thanks very much for this nice review ! i am now hesitating in getting this laptop to replace my 3 year old thinkpad, there is now a flash sale on lenovo in europe for about 1800 for the 1GB SSD version. I was wondering about 2 things : when switching between different modes (tablet, dual screen portrait, double screen landscape, laptop) how smooth is the transition ? Did you experience any issues with some apps which cannot move smoothly between the two displays ? And is it possible to downgrade to Windows 10 on this laptop ?
I've watched a number of your review videos the last few days and I watch a lot of RU-vid and reviews and I have to say that you are one of the best. I thoroughly enjoy your attention to detail and your expert opinion and perspective. Thank you for the video sir.
I dont get it why is everything so much cheaper in USA than in europe ? cars, laptops, techs... why it can't be the same in europe ? 2000 usd for this laptop in usa, 3999 euros in europe (4300 usd)
Can someone explain why a TOUCHPAD matters on any touch screen laptop with pen support? TOUCHPADs are a thousand times slower than using your finger or a pen. Using a mouse is a hundred times faster than a TOUCHPAD. TOUCHPADs are also difficult to use in cramped spaces like an airplane.
Very good review as always. A suggestion if I may, with these new dual screens and foldable laptops, it may be good to take measurements of the height and width when they are in their portrait and landscape modes. I can't really tell if there is enough clearance placing it under a work environment station with overhead bins.
You should do a video on why laptop keyboards are getting worse and worse. I'm looking at upgrading from my T530 and all these laptop keyboards are total crap by comparison. We have devolved the technology. I am thinking of buying this beautiful multitaskers dream (the book 9i) and building a 65% mechanical keyboard to carry with it.
the audio sound muffled. Thank you for the review. I would love the duel screens for trading. But definitely not fast enough. unless you do Lenovos build your own
Very interesting one. I wonder if one of the screens deteriorates quickly due to temperatures, how did they manage to keep this performance with very quiet fan noise is beyond me. This with an AMD APU would be incredible!
I purchased this early on and I'm just fascinated by the dual screens. It's fairly fast though it does stutter some. The battery life is decent/good considering it has two screens. But to be honest I think this is perfect for a) people who absolutely need two large screens, b) those who can use it in an office, hotel room, or home office setup. But to be honest I actually found it cumbersome at times. It's just way to big for using both screens on an airplane. And it even seemed kinda weird using it in a coffee shop. And then the price - it's very expensive. So, I ended up going with the Asus Zenbook duo. I can use it in dual screen laptop form whenever it's open and the second screen with the keyboard is a real second screen unlike the 9i when the keyboard is attached. It's actually the perfect size for what I need a second screen for. And I paid less than $700.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is definitely a UNIQUE product, perfect for the content creator with its dual 2.8K OLED displays, clear 1080p webcam and array mics. The audio quality of the built-in speakers while good, it does not compare to the quality of the MacBook Pro's. In conclusion, for $1999.99 at Best Buy, while certainly not cheap, it is worth every penny and kudos to Lenovo for innovation! Great review Andrew!! 👍😁
Audio soeakers are not important because most people will be using ear buds or head phones. The real issue is that MacBooks don't have anything close to basic 21st century features -touch screen -pen support -2-in-1 design -180 degree screen -dual screens -instant on/face recognition -finger print sensor And a host of other features. No one wonder MacBooks only have 8% marketshare.
Hesitated a bit about getting the yoga book, very interesting device. Two screens would be great in many scenarios. In the end I went for the more traditional Rog Flow X13 (2023) and keeping the Yoga book in mind for the 3rd iteration.
I’m still waiting for mine. Lenovo has pushed back my order 4 times. I ordered the hour it got released. expected delivery time 9/27 its was originally 6/28… wtf Lenovo
Headphones jack .... U series??????? No gpu??????? 13 inch naaa better 18 inch ....... Design could have improved Keyboard backlight ??????? Number of c ports should be increased
I think this 9i may not be appealing for most users. The location of the start button is badly placed, the dual screen feature along with all of the accessories won't be practical when working at anything but a desk and the ports are too few. I'm sticking to my 2022 9i, it has more ports, a 4k OLED panel, its lighter and it cost me only $1350 at BB, with 1tb SSD and 16g RAM. However, I am waiting for the 14.5" Lenovo Tab Extreme tablet but I can't find one anywhere!
I love my I9 Book My wishes for next gen are: Physical Trackpad magnetic attachment along with keyboard, wither in 1 piece or a 2 piece, slightly larger screens 14.4 or similar a little more brightness, and 5g capability I'd pay 3k for this upgrades in a second
