Here it is! Lenovo Yoga C930. This thing has insane sound and a place to store a pen! Hit me up on discord if you have any questions. discord.gg/mattmoniz
Thats not the point. -_- Also this proves they could easily provide a much better computer for the same price. Also recent benchmarks are showing how the new ipads are approaching the macbook air in performance. I am making about of the lack of innovation a fruit company is doing.
@@debojyotibiswas3233 they selling apple for $1200 😂 Nd people giving that much of money only to have a apple stupid people are everywhere i eat apples every day nd they are cheap compared to apples apple 😂😀 That's how stupid apple is nd there customers are gay bcz they love when apple fuck them really hard
I think this is the best concept for laptops, it has so much room to get better, if they can put the stylus horizontaly without losing access to more ports, add a dedicated graphic card, and have a more color accurate screen it would definitely be a better choice than the surface book and the mac book pro, Lenovo please hear me out!
@@nizarreghai yeah, I read just saying it's not necessarily about just jamming as much power as you can in a smaller form factor. It could also be finding ways that increase productivity or ease of use in other ways. For many the power has been adequate for a while.
"galaxy note of laptops" funny since Samsung themselves have their notebook 9 pro laptops that actually HAS the same pen technology on their phones. Lol
Great review of this content creativity laptop 💻. I saw one of my favorite YT Vloggers using this series a few weeks ago. I work from home 3 out of 6 days for work and I need a new budget friendly “techbook” 👩🏽💻
The 4k version has a battery life of 5 hours and 50 minutes in real world usage. This was achieved by using Google docs and having a RU-vid video playing in the background at 50% brightness with the lowest possible back light on the keyboard being turned on. No other programs were running. If you are looking for better battery life I would highly suggest you save up a little more for the Think pad line up. I truly enjoy your content Matthew but please put in the due diligence to test simple things like battery life before you post up these videos because it is not only misleading to your followers, but also causes people to have to spend time returning products. Keep up the content, support and love from California.
@@diokosa7001 I had one, the thermals weren't that bad, pretty good actually when you remove all the pre-installed bloatware, but the well known build quality issue on mine was not covered under warranty, for a device this expensive that's unacceptable.
Great video!! found you through suggested videos. I just started a RU-vid Channel not long ago and very interested in the human evolution and spirituality topic. Keep following your passion and creating great content. Sending you good vibes and lots of love 💖
okay you sold me. thanks for these videos! you've helped us tremendously with choosing which first laptop purchase is the best for me and my husband. happy new year!
Yes, it's wonderful! My only gripe is the power button on the right side. For a laptop that can slip into a large purse, it needs to have a power switch UNDER the lid where it will not be accidentally turned on or off by ordinary movements!
Almost good, wish it had an sd card port or an micro sd card port. As an artist I know for sure that would help out alot, especially switching from one CPU to another. I know that you can do that with sending the file to yourself on dropbox or email, etc, but just having a port like that does help out tremendously. At least it comes with a USB port so an adapter would do just fine I guess.
1500 for a dedicated GPU (Intel HD 620) is absurd. Couple that with such few ports (you only get a single Thunderbolt since the other port is used by the charger) and this is a terrible design. They even kept the chin massive and it looks awkward. It's as if they dedicated all their time into making that soundbar, and while it is extremely nice and probably the best audio you will get from a laptop right now, usually you are using headphones in a public place so you wouldn't be making the best use of it. Otherwise if you use it at home, it probably only manages on the couch. If you have a desk for this you can probably afford $50 external speakers that give you good enough surround sound (and you should probably be able to afford such a thing if you're dropping 1.5k on this laptop) or you get the best use of this if you're a traveler looking to use it in hotel rooms where you have nothing else but your laptop. Also, you cannot get the basic version at 4k, you are limited to the FHD 1080p and then there's the issue that the RAM is onboard and cannot be upgraded, so lack of customization when buying + integrated graphics card + few ports make this a skip for a lot of people unless they are upgrading from a 5 year old laptop or unless Lenovo is running a massive sale (like $300 off, which they do a few times a year). The biggest selling point is the soundbar, without it the laptop is honestly extremely average and BELOW average for its price point. And I haven't even gotten into the display. It does not even crack 300 nits. This is horrendous considering we have 400 Nit displays by now on ultrabooks and even the XPS 2 in 1 has a 430 nit display. So yes, it's sleek and modern looking with amazing audio but the display really lacks and the price is a bit too high for what it offers (integrated graphics card at 1.5k USD..). My recommendation would be to wait until a price drop or buy only if Lenovo is offering $300 discount sales. At the time of writing there IS a discount sale for custom yogas and you can get $300+ off this unit.
Any alternative recommendation with 13' convertible and TB3? Is light gaming like CS:GO and LoL possible on Intel 620 without a graphics card? You seem knowledgeable, that's why I ask, thanks in advance!
It’s a shame that not many people will notice this comment. You make some good point but I, personally, prefer to buy this compared to a lacking MacBook which costs 2k and above.
Just grabbed a "Fully loaded" C930 with 1tb SSD, 4k screen, and 16gb of ram for $1,349. Hell of a deal if you ask me.. Brand new, straight from Lenovo.
Great Review!! I might get this, I was considering the Surface Laptop 2 which I looked at thoroughly at Best Buy, but might go back and check this outoo then make a decision.
I had it and was almost in love, but ended up returning two units. The backlight bleed on the 15 inch was insane--which is bad for a device marketed towards artists. Thought it was a defect, so I got it replaced and it looked fine, but then after 2 days of use, the bleed was leaving 2 large light blotches at the bottom left corner and center. I don't know if that BestBuy just got a bad batch, but the fact that the bleed got worse after using the tablet function makes it seem like a design flaw.
Please reply if you are using lenovo yoga c930 How is the cooling? Are you facing and throttling issues? Some users are facing these problems as seen in forums online. Please reply asap.
that would be a dedicated GPU. integrated is the Intel 620. The problem is that the thermals would be impossible to manage in this chassis without tons of thermal throttling--the quad core CPUs generate way too much heat on their own. the 13 inch specter x360 hits 100 c on the cpu regularly. 15 inch devices can barely manage decent performance with entry level dGPUs. Alternative cooling methods could do a better job, but then you're paying a hefty price premium (such as with the Surface Book 2).
Hey Mathew.. Nice review. I have been the fan of Yoga 900 series since its inception. The only thing which I dont like about this series is why they are not supporting IR cameras. I am a big fan of Face unlock feature . The only reason I din buy 920 was there was no IR camera and I was waiting for 930. I read somewhere that they will have the IR camera option but on their official page, All i can see is 720P HD camera. :( I think I ll go ahead and buy 920 as I like the watchband hinge over the soundbar.
Does it run WoW? Or any similar graphic games? I'm getting this laptop for work purposes, but hoping it will be able to run some games as well. Otherwise I need to get Shadow...
Hi, can you help me decide if Im gonna buy the HP X360 14-CD0105TU. Can you make a full review of the full specifications of the model. The pro's and con's of buying this model. thank you so much
I bought this LAPTOP...the good THING about this laptop is the battery...that can last up to 8 hours....also, the design is better than any laptop out there.... also, the speaker is good.... only 3 good things...the rest is okay...... if u don't care about the design and battery..u can buy DELL or HP for cheaper price... but i like the BATTERY...that's why i bought it
@@amangupta02 Thank you Sir for reply. Would you please let me know the quality of Stylus ( Digital Pen)? I am a Law student and I have to attend college, presentation and seminars.
I myself am a sophomore student pursuing Engineering and the stylus is exceptionally good it's Wacom 2.0 AES and it has pressure sensitivity and minimum lag
@@amangupta02 Thank you Sir. Your reply is very clear and helpful. If anything else you want to convey for further details please continue. Actually I am thinking to buy best ultralight / ultrasim 2-in-1 laptop for my study and obviously for entertainment. I don't play games often. I need powerful ultrasim / ultralight 2-in-1 convertible laptop for extensive writing sessions. Please let me know about the heating issues ( if any) and actual battery back up in the real world of this laptop. I think 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD would be enough for higher level college study.
I generally like your reviews but found this one lacking. There's so much praise for the soundbar without any examples of music played to help show how much better it is. Is it better than a Macbook Pro? How does it compare to the XPS or Spectre lines? Also, this is the successor to the Yoga 920. How is this better or worse than the 920? Without these comparisons, it's difficult to gauge why one would pay the asking price for this device.
because the variables wouldn't allow you to hear it how it would sound in person (The mic recording it....your own speakers......your soundcard etc.). You want to hear how another pair of speakers sound being recorded via a mic then funneled back through your own speakers?
this review is absolutely amazing! I have a question and it might sound very stupid, but I am very anxious about it; does this laptop support a Bluetooth mouse? I´m sorry if I seem ignorant, the whole "laptop turning into tablet" mode just made me think whether or not it can connect with a Bluetooth mouse to play other games, like Minecraft for example? Thank you :)
15 in 2-in-1 laptops with dgpus get extremely hot and throttle. 8th gen quad-hexa core CPUs generate a ton of heat. You compromise thermals and battery life by adding a GPU and get additional coil whine more often than not. 2-in-1s are not built for gaming--you can make it work, like with the Yoga 720, but you make compromises as seen in the 15 inch Yoga 730 that both power and thermal throttles with a 1050. The HP Specter 15 with the Vega M or MX150 is a toaster--2 in ones are meant to stay relatively cool in order to be used comfortably as tablets. Also, internal GPUs use PCIe lanes which take away from other features, including TB3. If you're looking to game or do 3D modeling, this class of laptops is not meant for you. They make the Ideapad 720s 14 in that comes with 8th gen intel and an MX150, but the fans are loud, the chassis is bigger, and it doesn't have tablet mode.
c930 (the 730 does it's job but the speaker aren't really loud and the battery isn't really good) but i think the c930 will alsow have a few disadvantages as far i know less than the 730
I want to buy the yoga 730 or this laptop but I don't know which one to choose. So is this laptop better than the yoga 730 2 in 1 15inch? How long does battery life last with a 50% to 30% brightness? Does the pen drain battery life when it's automatically being charged inside the slot?
When you say you can swap out the WiFi card, I would presume that is just for swapping out a non functional card and there are really not upgrades available for that or am I missing something. Are there better performing upgrades for that part?
Why no speaker test when this has such a novel speaker setup? You found time for a speaker test in the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2. If you ever do a follow up video on this, please include that, too!
What's the difference between 'TOUCH INTERFACE' and 'TENT' mode...am I missing something here, and why would I ever have the laptop resting on the keyboard itself (in 'Touch Interface' mode) eventually damaging the keys, why not just use the 'tent' mode. What gives...???
From the video I can't tell if there's a Kensington lock on the right side... Could you please tell me? This might be the go-no-go for my IT dept to buy it for me :-) or not :-(
@Mathew Moniz Hi, Can it's speakers be compared with some of the best sounding small Bluetooth speakers like "JBL"/"Anker"/"Logitech" in terms of bass, richness & overall volume? Your reply will mean a lot! I was wondering if carrying a extra pair of B.T speakers is still worth it or not....
is 8250u that much better at battery life compared to 8550U? I always get i5 chips but i hear good things about battery life with 8th gen CPUs. Any thoughts?
Im currently searching for a big sketching device to make couple with my note 9, is just want a bigger device to show my sketches to my clients, right now I'm considering the new iPad 12.9 but this laptop is in the same range.... do you have any suggestions to me, it could be helpful.. maybe you can compare both the iPad and this laptop, I don't need a powerhouse because I do all my heavy tasks like 3d modeling and rendering in my workstation, I just need only a good canvas for sketching and maybe a little of photoshop
