Leo Gameplay Trailer Breakdown! Can you handle their Gender Neutral? - Tekken 8 

Looks like the Weekly Tekken trailers are spinning up again so naturally here is a full breakdown of the Leo Trailer! Leo got a lot of new toys to play around with and is looking pretty dang good in this edition of Tekken. I don't think Akira Yuki would appreciate bringing grappling hooks into the martial art of Baji Quan but I guess its a new era of fighting games. The line with Azucena made me think it was a missed opportunity for them not to give her a move where she throws coffee grounds in your eyes.

I guess I was expecting a Yoshimitsu trailer? But that will come eventually. Looks like we are getting a trailer every week until launch happens in January is the plan now. I am unreasonably excited for the bears, probably too much but if theres a chance Bearlectrics with Kuma can exist, I need to see it

I think people are gonna understand how busted ws 4,1+2 is gonna be. If the frame data is the same it's an 11 frame ws punish that leads directly into a 50/50, and if their in heat in theory it will launch. That's an insane change

If Steve is the next trailer and Kuma the trailer after that, then we can probably assume the release order will go by the website order

2:55 that kick transition existed in vanilla Tekken 6. I hated when they changed it to the stomp because it no longer ducked. Now it's back and I'm so happy.

love the breakdown for leo you did really love it how you explain each analysis about leo and her as a character cuz i'm sick and tired seeing criticized comments about her being boring and having the worst rage art when her rage arts in other tekken games were that good her rage art in tekken 8 is a huge step up than her other ones and she isn't a boring character they just say cuz leo can be hard to master and they don't bother trying her especially her fighting style is awesome along with the fact she's quite underrated or don't think she feels important as the developers didn't make her feel important when she has potential to be a great character and i hope the developers make leo feel important not just in general but also to the story plus her story, making her a strong character make her become overrated. 10/10 for this video

Hey @rooflemonger, I've never played Tekken before - would picking up Tekken 7 be a good 'entry' into the franchise before 8 comes out? Your videos about it have been getting me kind of hyped, but I've never played a fighter like Tekken before lol.

Fun fact doing something like ff2 or u,f2 into ki charge also makes that move deal 1/2 extra damage

Leo made a suprise return since tekken 6 and he looks very engaging with his familiar fighting style of the banji quan. if leo fights bruce irvin that would be the clash of the battlefield, you have two masters of the muay thai compilations. Tekken 8 is hustle very fast now, only two months for 2024 might pick it up but before i wanna see more dlc season characters to really make my mind, rooflemonger as always nice demonstration of the combo strings for fighting game characters. Love how leo keeps his stance cancel elbows shoulders and kicks, similar to how hworang has the flamingo stance cancel kicks too. but a second heat smash for leo, defintely he would gain a soild property tool advantage that ultimately he would extract a devastating combos for longer frames of punishment. He is going to be the dirtiest player in the game i guess, which leave people getting bewildered so much and crazy beatdowns for sure.

Leo was introduced into the series in tekken 6 because thier mother was a scientist in Gcorp who died when Kazuya took his revenge on them for the jack assault at haomaru at the beginning of tekken 5. So its been known about basucally day one with this character. Not one of my favourites but seens like they have given it a bit of sauce this time around.

Leo was the first character I picked up when I returned to Tekken 7 after having not really played since the PSP games like Dark ressurection. Trying to re-learn the encolopedic amount of moves for Leo, Asuka, and Lee before T8....Pray for me, lol why do I end up liking weird ass stance characters in tekken 😂

In the bio Leo is referred to as a He. So I guess Leo is settle on being male now. Haven't check the japanese bio though, don't care enough to go through that, but there is that I guess. The whole grappling hook thing is a nod to his father's legacy, who was a renowned Spelunker, something Tekken story never explored at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is any trailer where a male character beats up a female one. Chances are Leo fighting the coffee lady was intentional to throw people off or (less likely) that was hint to let people know Leo is a woman.

As much as I hate the lazy and overused gender neutral meme, I appreciate the video. Personally Leo was one of the few characters I never labbed so this is good insight

Leo's rage art THE FIGHTER NON-BINARY GENDER WOKE, the trailer that no one asked for, looks so simple, done in such a shabby way, not at all inspired, that it cringes, so much waiting for that?... it shows that they were in a hurry to launch the character since they have little time left until January 26, time will pass like lightning, that thing about the hook launcher tool doesn't even fit in the ttt2, it looks more like a Nina tomboy version plagiarized from Tarzan with that swinging thing, plus her interaction with Azucena is quite strange and random, it makes a lot of sense that it is Azucena and Lili because of the drinking something and "which infusion is better?" according to them but... in this case?... as I say, it is very simple, strange and above all... cringe, and the trailer for Devil Jin when bandai namco?, very bad

My suspect is that Leo's Ki Charge does store maybe multiple times, and that with his Ki Charge it's like KoF where he can cancel his moves or be able to forcefully use a new move since I saw -> -> 3 in his strings
