Legend and a true warrior. The bicycle is one of the greatest inventions of humanity, not an invention, a gift to humans. It is the ultimate freedom machine, and offers an opportunity to be alone, reflect, and stay healthy, while exploring and achieving unbleivsble levels of euphoria, cycling up/down mountains, in all parts of the world. As a passionate cyclist and collector myself, I speak from experience about the wonderful benefits both physically and mentally of this activity. The world needs to wake up to this beautiful machine.
Here because a car driver just told me his one legged friend would be stranded without a car and that I was being selfish suggesting more people should get out of their cars and pollute the streets less. I have a bad knee and tendon damage to an ankle on that leg... cycling is fantastic given I have anxiety which prevents me from using public transport This is an inspirational video
I have just seen a guy in Scotland similarly riding with just one leg and could not believe it was possible. So I went onto the internet to investigate and came here. My utmost admiration to both guys.
Leo, I am undergoing surgery after surgery, I just had my seventh. A crazy motorists ran into us going over 50mph at the State Championship bike race seven months ago. The cyclist that was next to me didn't make it, he passed away shortly after my release from ICU. Im in danger of losing my leg to a non-union fracture that has not healed in over seven months but when I saw your story on Bicycle Magazine, you became my inspiration. Thank you sir, hope to meet you one day . Take care and keep riding.
"Bicycle is the Fountain Of Youth".....a friend was always saying that, and at the age 62 with a new knee, and some other bodily issues figured out Im back doing 150 to 200 miles a week. Its the best thing ever for the brain and body.
We love Leo's story so much. What an incredible human! "Inspiring" doesn't even come close to describing his tenacity and positive, inclusive style of riding and existing! Wishing him the best and hope to share the road/trail together someday!
ManI didn't know was out there like that. That's a real.good friend and all inspiring rider from my city. Tampa Florida. I'm so happy for the brother. Glad to have ridden with him.
I have a right leg that has nerve damage and has stopped my cycling, my happy place, I looked up your video to inspire myself, you've made me even more determined now, you're amazing, thank you for the inspiration!!!!
I kept staring at the shape of his eyes while he talks.. It's so beautiful to look at.. 😊 awesome riding sir.. I wish i could thank you for this heartfelt story.. I started riding during covid event because we don't have any public transportation.. I go to work everyday with 20 to 30 minutes ride and learned patience with everyone on the road..
Every video I see with Leo is so amazingly inspiring. His tragic accident will in turn allow him to inspire countless other cyclists...regardless of amputee status...you could only hope to have such a strong will and drive if you were in the same situation.
Well I really did searched for this not based on youtube algorithm I was quite curious cause here in the philippines I saw a man riding his bicycle with no hands or only with 1 leg. This is so encouraging !
As soon as he jumped on that bike and I seen him racing I knew he still had the fire of life in him! This fella is living life more than a lot of couch potatoes I know
When I was living in Chengdu there's one guy riding his bike with only one arm,a good mechanic customized guy's bike to move the shifts and brakes all on one side
Yo bro I’m a full leg amputee in the uk I’ve been riding mtb for 9 year again now Just get in to e-bikes and loving ever day Nice to see a fellow one legged bike having it 👊🏻
Today on Moral Motivation Class, My Mam wanted all students to prepare life story of your inspired people..I present the Life story of Leo Rodgers in Malayalam and I got a big clap from my Teacher..And last minute of our class, she Asked me 'What's your Ambition?' 'I will say proudly that ' I AM VERY INSPIRED IN LEO SO I WANT TO BECOME A BICYCLE RIDER LIKE LEO'🙂

This is awesome, “I’ll wait for you to catch up” Absolutely awe inspiring legend. I was researching Enrico Toti and found this. He lost his leg in 1908 and in 1911 road from Rome to Paris then up to Denmark, Russia, Poland then home.
