Young Irish people can't afford a roof over their head, they can't start a family. This adds to the labour shortage. Irish or EU workers would not live in those conditions in Ireland now The top 1% are the ones who benefit from this, The workers from poor countries are exploited, just as the Irish migrant labourers were when Ireland was a dirt poor country and the Irish navvies, skivvies, and tattie hoakers lived in much poorer conditions than the native people, sleeping in places like the bothy in Kirkintilloch where 10 young men and boys aged from 13 to 23 from Achill Island died in a fire in 1937 There are youtube videos on the Irish in Britain in the 1960s and the bosses of the construction companies say they prefer to hire Irish men because they will travel to follow the work, whereas English men wanted to live and work in their hometowns with their families. My own uncle worked on English building sites and he used to say while they toiled all day their beds would be given to the lads on the night shift It's a race to the bottom, we all lose except the few who are getting very wealthy from the system. Btw, in the 1830s when England was a rich industrialised country with free movement of labour with a poor country of Ireland where the vast majority of the population lived in such abject poverty, destitution, and squalor that 'Starvation' was recorded as a common cause of death - the English people signed petitions in their thousands to end the union with Ireland to stop the "influx" of Irish migrants. It wasn't because they were racist against the Irish, but because they wanted a system that didn't rely on importing cheap foreign labour

That hit home....I was born and raised in london to irish parents and had the slightly schizophrenic upbringing spent between 'cockney' and Carlow. I clearly see the same playbook that has made london and other cities in the UK become unrecognisable unfolding in Ireland.....you have had to fight to keep your language, culture, and religion from being wiped out by British rule but now the people who are continuing that are your own political class .....Shocking doesn't even come close to see whats unfolding

The death of Europe is literally the saddest thing that is happening right now to me. Thousands of years of history, of cultures, languages, and peoples being diluted, and replaced in their own homelands... I find all of the peoples very interesting and SO diverse. From one town to the next stark differences based in the history of hundreds of years. I love the people of Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, etc... to watch them fade away and be replaced is heart wrenching. I say this as an American. I have never even been to Europe. It is my desire to visit before it is all gone. Once everywhere from city to town becomes international or foreign I will be unable to try to reconnect with my long lost brothers a sea away. The worst part about it is to hear these politicians whine about "racism." In Ireland thirty or forty years ago almost NO ONE seen, heard or talked about racism because almost all of Ireland was Irish. A novel idea that: Ireland being Irish... I believe that the push is and was purposeful to destroy Europe and the West as whole. It was designed with that intent and to create division amongst the people as the governments seize power. Nothing else could explain the widespread and deliberate focus and indifference to the will of the respective peoples of Europe and the West on the issue. If you have a large population that are 1st, or 2nd generation foreigners living in your nation they are not attached or loyal to your nation. This is especially true if they arrived for economic reasons. This is true because if their economy was as good chances are they never would have came to your nation, and since they did they are going to bring their culture with them. It also happens much more often when they arrive in such a large number because then they can cling to one another and not assimilate. This is very different to people that come for cultural reasons. If someone comes from France, or The United States to Ireland to live, chances are that they LOVE the Irish culture, and people and want to try to experience it or be apart of it. It is not just for economic reasons. That is the kind of people that every nation should have migrate. Good luck. All of us that actually appreciate culture, and cultures are with you all. :'(
