The so-called great singers getting all of the press could learn a lot about HOW to sing a song from this brilliant young man. Having a great voice is the easy part - learning how to interpret a song - that's where so many lack the patience to learn. Excellent rendition of a great song.
karlfarren actually, if you listen to the first recording of Willy singing this, you can see that Leon chose to do it as closely to the way Willie originally did. which, imo, was done with perfection.
This is the best thing I've heard in as long as I can remember. I can't listen without shedding a tear...or several. Such a fan of Leon, hope he records this as a single.

Awesome cover. Lukas...Willys kid did a cover as well. But in my opinion, the best version is when Willy did a duet of this song with Francine Reed. If you havent heard it, ya best check it out.
